Role Overview

The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling, donor-centred communications that strengthen long-term relationships with partners and supporters, deepen engagement and inspire giving. One of the main areas of responsibility will be to produce proposals and reports for stakeholders, especially strategic partners and donors. The postholder will work closely with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team, as well as collaborating with other departments within the college.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience of producing copy for fundraising and donor relations purposes, and will be a skilled storyteller who can translate the strategic objectives of the college into resonant narratives, understands donor motivations, and writes with clarity, empathy, and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Stewardship Writing

• Develop persuasive and high-quality copy for multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, website, social media etc.)
• Write impact reports and stewardship letters that convey gratitude and demonstrate impact.
• Create case statements, proposals, and presentations for major donor and foundation audiences.
• Oversee the ongoing use of Donorfy CRM to ensure it functions in a way that optimises ANCC's efficiency and makes full use of its functionality; carry out system integrations as needed.

Storytelling & Content Development

• Interview students, alumni, partners, staff and donors to develop authentic, mission-driven stories.
• Adapt organizational content for various donor segments, ensuring a consistent voice and message.
• Collaborate within the Marketing & Communications team to pair copy with strong visuals, and input to other priority projects as required.

Editing & Quality Control

• Proofread and edit donor communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the college ethos and brand guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent, donor-focused tone across all written materials.

Collaboration & Strategy

• Work closely with the members of the Marketing & Communications team to align donor messaging with campaign goals.
• Collaborate with other teams across the college including the Academic, Training and Finance Teams.
• Contribute to the development of content calendars and communication strategies.
• Track and analyse response rates and engagement to inform future copy.

· Fully participate in All Nations community activities when possible.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ professional writing experience, preferably in donor relations and fundraising communications.
• Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging copy and marketing materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong interviewing, research, and storytelling skills.
• Excellent editing and proofreading abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with donor stewardship best practices and fundraising language.
• Experience of producing and tracking fundraising campaigns, tracking impact, reporting and lesson learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and engage cross-culturally.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team and wider organisational departments.
• Experience with CRM or donor database systems.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of direct response fundraising principles.
• Basic understanding of SEO and digital content best practices, and awareness of upcoming trends and changes in the sector, including best use of AI.
• Experience of working with Canva and other document editing software which pair visuals with text.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Fundraising and Marketing Support Administrator to join our Supporter Experience team based at our offices in Plymouth. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.

As Fundraising and Marketing Support Administrator you’ll be a proactive member of an office-based team that provides excellent support to the Alzheimer’s Society’s Fundraising and Marketing teams, enabling them to extend the reach of the organisation and raise vital funds to support those affected by dementia.

You’ll contribute to the success of different teams and functions across the organisation by completing a variety of administrative tasks including processing donations, answering queries, thanking supporters, handling complaints and maintaining accurate database records that reflect and enhance the customer experience.

About you
Joining us, you’ll be able to complete a range of administrative tasks, using your organisation and prioritisation skills to manage your time and workload effectively. What you’ll focus on:

- Handling all enquiries by telephone, letter, and email. Ensure that all enquiries, including feedback and complaints are handled within agreed standards.

- Creating or amending supporter records on the database in an accurate manner and within agreed standards.
- Working closely with colleagues in the Supporter Experience department to ensure all work enhances the supporter journey.
- Assisting other parts of the Fundraising and Marketing directorate with their administration and fulfilment of campaigns.
- Responsible for your own workload in handling supporter queries/feedback, donation processing, and other administrative tasks.

Business Development

What will you do? 

This is a pivotal moment to join JET as we build on fourteen years of impact and enter a new chapter in our journey. We have ambitious plans to expand our reach and influence, and we’re seeking someone who can help us strengthen our funding base and sharpen our message. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and develop our fundraising team, shaping a cross-stream strategy and an integrated communications plan. You’ll be responsible for setting the strategic direction for fundraising, communications and events across the organisation. By doing so you will raise JET’s national profile, grow our supporter base and significantly increase income to support programme expansion. 

You’ll bring strong experience across multiple fundraising streams, with a proven track record of securing significant multi-year funding and building lasting relationships with funders—both individuals and organisations. Alongside leading our fundraising efforts, you’ll take ownership of our brand, ensuring clarity and consistency in our messaging, helping partners tell our story, and securing positive media coverage. 

You’ll lead the development of campaigns, fundraising and marketing activities, and digital engagement that not only enhance our national profile but also drive supporter engagement and income growth.

This is a home-based role, with travel required to and within the regions where we operate, including attendance at key events. 

About you 

You will provide strategic leadership across fundraising, communications, marketing and events. Your work will be closely aligned with JET’s five-year strategy, enabling continued growth in funding and programme delivery. 

You’ll bring a wealth of experience in leading fundraising and communications at a strategic level, with a strong understanding of the sector and a track record of securing and sustaining major gifts and partnerships. You’ll be adept at managing integrated campaigns across multiple channels and growing income through sustainable funding models. 

Your leadership style will be collaborative and empowering, with the ability to build high-performing teams and foster a culture of accountability and innovation. You’ll be a confident communicator, able to inspire and influence, with excellent relationship-building skills and a strategic mindset.

Are you a highly organised, proactive leader with proven management experience and a passion for delivering exceptional visitor experiences? Guildford Cathedral is seeking a dynamic Head of Commercial Enterprise to oversee our Visitor Experience and Events Team. In this pivotal role, you will drive excellence across our Café Restaurant franchise and Cathedral Shop, ensuring outstanding service for all events clients and visitors.​

Background​

​Guildford Cathedral is a sacred space and a community of people who engage with God and the wider world for the common good.  We do this by being a warm-hearted community open to God, to all, to growth and to transformation.  Over 100,000 visitors come to the Cathedral each year and our Cathedral ‘community’ comprises thousands who feel close the Cathedral because of historical connection, the purchase of a brick in the 1950s, their membership of the worshipping congregations or staff and volunteers.​

Reporting to:Chief Operating Officer.

Accountable to:The Chapter of Guildford Cathedral and the Guildford Cathedral Enterprises Management Board.

Hours and salary:Full time – 35 hours per week (flexibility is essential for this role and the hours worked are governed by the pattern of the events programme). The salary for the post is £45400.

What You'll Do:​​

​

Lead the Enterprise team to provide an outstanding level of service to events clients, visitors, including the families programme, and deliver excellence in the Café Restaurant franchise and the Shop. You will work enthusiastically as part of the Cathedral’s team of staff and volunteers to help deliver our vision. ​

Some of the Key Responsibilities of the role:​​

• Events

  • To direct the events team in organising the extensive events programme, maximise the spare capacity of the Cathedral building and the adjacent grounds, thereby generating income as required by the Cathedral budget.
  • To be responsible for the execution of events, delegating to the Events Team and/or other Staff members as appropriate.
  • To be on duty as part of the team rota delivering events.

  Café Restaurant

  • To ensure that the franchise delivers the requisite performance, in terms of quality and financial benefit to the Cathedral, as required by the contract between Guildford Cathedral Enterprises and the franchisee.

  Management

  • To be the line manager for the Enterprise team members, including Events Officer, Events Assistant, Shop Manager & Shop Assistant, Visitor Engagement Officer, and the Families Engagement Officer.
  • To be the Cathedral point of contact for management issues related to the employees of the Café Restaurant franchisee.
  • To attend Diary Management and Head of Department Meetings.
  • To ensure all marketing and relevant information reaches the marketing team in a timely manner.

  Shop

  • To direct the Shop team to provide value for money in the Shop, delivering an excellent level of service to the community and a level of income required by the Cathedral budget.

  Visitor Engagement & Families Programme

  • To direct the Visitor Engagement Officer and Family Engagement Officer to deliver the wide programme of tours, concerts, and Family engagement days, broadening our visitor numbers and demographic and managing the outreach activities actively and effectively.​

We are looking for a Head of Commercial Enterprise who will has:​​

• Significant management and leadership experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent financial, numerical, and administrative skills.
• The ability to work within tight deadlines, highly organised with excellent time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Confidence and is self-starter, diplomatic and helpful.
• Flexibility and is a responsive team player.
• Evidence of strong IT skills.
• Experience of working in a unique venue or similar environment.
• 3 years operational experience of running events.​

We are working in partnership with Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) to secure their new Head of Fundraising & Communications. SWT provide expert advice and guidance to landowners and managers, while inspiring and educating people and organisations across the county on what they can do to help tackle the ongoing climate emergency, while supporting the health and wellbeing of all who live in Surrey. By doing this, SWT will create a county that is full of diverse and abundant wildlife, where nature is at the heart of individual choices, corporate decisions, and local economic and policy making.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven, passionate and experienced senior fundraiser to lead transformational fundraising and communications across the organisation. As Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will lead a dynamic and talented team to develop and deliver a powerful fundraising strategy that expands and diversifies income. From major donors to corporate partnerships, membership growth to trusts & foundations, you will ensure SWT have the financial strength to support their ambitious conservation goals.

You will also drive their mission-led communications, engaging a wide range of audiences through PR, marketing, digital, and social media to enhance awareness and inspire action through compelling campaigns and appeals.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience in fundraising leadership, with expertise across multiple income streams
• A track record of securing major gifts and partnerships

Your Role

The Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorship Manager will develop and deliver a strategy to secure, manage, and grow income from corporate supporters and sponsors. The postholder will build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with
businesses across Leeds ensuring companies see clear value in partnering with the charity through sponsorship,  fundraising, and a unique offer of CSR volunteering days at Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm.

Key responsibilities include

Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement a corporate partnerships and sponsorship strategy aligned to the charity’s overall fundraising plan.
• Identify new corporate and sponsorship prospects, building a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
• Contribute to income forecasts, reporting against agreed targets.

Business Development

• Research, approach and secure new corporate partners and sponsors across a range of sectors.
• Create tailored sponsorship packages for events, programmes and campaigns, ensuring strong return on investment for partners.
• Negotiate partnership and sponsorship agreements that deliver value for both parties.

Relationship Management

• Account manage existing partners and sponsors, ensuring excellent stewardship and high levels of satisfaction.
• Develop creative, engaging partnership activities including staff fundraising and cause-related marketing working with the Marketing Manager, promote payroll giving, volunteering and sponsorship activation.
• Work closely with the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Trustees to maximise opportunities within their networks.

CSR and Volunteering

• Promote and manage CSR volunteering days at Leeds Children’s Charity, based at Lineham Farm, offering businesses the chance to engage their employees in meaningful, hands-on activities that directly benefit children and the charity.
• Work with delivery teams to ensure CSR days are safe, well-organised and impactful for both participants and the charity.
• Capture and report on the social value and employee engagement benefits of CSR days to strengthen long-term partnerships.

Communications and Promotion

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop compelling partnership and sponsorship materials, case studies.
• Represent the charity at networking events, business forums, and community groups.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity in all corporate engagement.

What we need from you

• Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, with credibility at senior business levels.
• Strong ability to develop and deliver persuasive pitches and proposals.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of the Leeds and Yorkshire business community.
• Experience of using CRM systems to manage pipelines and report progress.
• Proven track record in corporate fundraising, sponsorship, account management, or business development.
• A target-driven mindset with experience of meeting and exceeding income goals.
• Experience of developing and managing sponsorship packages.
• Understanding of corporate CSR/ESG priorities.
• Experience of planning or managing employee volunteering or CSR days.
• Experience in public speaking.
• Ability to travel independently across the region (with driving licence and access to a vehicle).

Qualifications

• 5 x GCSE (including English & Maths) or equivalent
• Recognised fundraising qualification (e.g., Institute of Fundraising certificate)is desirable
