Our client provides retirement services to those who serve or work for the church. Both a regulated pension fund and registered charity, more than 44,000 people rely on them for their pensions. The board also supports 2,500 retired clergy with housing, including managing a national portfolio of 1,200 rented homes and Community Living options. 

Supported by a multi-million pound grant from the wider church, they are setting up a new function responsible for engaging with clergy at all stages of life and ministry on their current and future plans, offering access to grants to kick-start saving, bespoke advice at key life stages and tailored products that will provide people more choice about their future. As part of this new function, they are now recruiting for a proactive, empathetic Regional Adviser to deliver personalised support to clergy based across the South West region, helping them with day-to-day financial wellbeing matters, and retirement planning.

Working across Dioceses operating across the South West, you will proactively lead local engagement with clergy through structured, personalised one-to-one conversations, events and outreach, helping to connect individuals with expert advice, guidance, products and services that support their current and future financial plans. As a key point of contact for individuals and dioceses in your region, you’ll champion the needs and experiences of clergy, helping to build confidence about what the future might hold, and connecting people to the right information, products, specialists or local support. The Kirkwood provide specialist adult care for anyone affected by a life limiting illness across Kirklees. Their care begins at diagnosis, within their In-Patient Unit and Support & Therapy Centre in Huddersfield, or in patients’ own homes. Their amazing care is respectful, tailored to individuals needs and wishes until the end of life. This includes support for patients family members, friends, and carers during their illness and afterwards.

The Role

This brand-new role is vital in raising awareness of the profound impact legacy and in-memory donations have on people affected by life-limiting or terminal illness.

Reporting directly to the Head of Fundraising and Development you will manage two key events, Light up a Life in December and the Sunflower Walk in August. As a champion for in-memory giving and gifts in wills, key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and delivering strategies to grow income from gifts in wills and in-memory giving
• Building meaningful, compassionate long-term relationships
• Delivering exceptional supporter engagement and stewardship
• Securing vital income through sensitive communication and inspiring campaigns
• Raising awareness of in-memory giving opportunities internally and externally.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, ideally with knowledge of legacy and/or in-memory giving. An understanding of the emotional nature of in-memory and legacy is essential. It would also be beneficial to have experience working with a hospice, or healthcare environment within the charity sector.

You should have:

• The ability to work collaboratively, building strong internal and external relationships.
• A flair for handling conversations in a sensitive, compassionate and professional manner.
• Experience in developing engaging campaigns and supporter journeys.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Knowledge of legal processes relating to wills, probate and legacy administration is also desirable.

About the Role 

This is a key role strengthening the Foundation’s ability to work confidently within complex local systems and to support systems change across England and Wales. You will be skilled in coaching, facilitation and capability building, with the ability to translate systems thinking into practical approaches others can use. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work credibly with a wide range of stakeholders will be essential.

About the opportunity

At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe no one should face dementia alone. Every conversation, every visit and every small moment of reassurance can make a real difference. We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in Rochdale working 35 hours per week.

You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.

Your days will be varied and meaningful. You might be visiting someone at home, offering calm reassurance over the phone, or working closely with other professionals to make sure the right support is in place. We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork. You will also be supporting the diagnostic clinic at Birch Hill Hospital at least 1 day per week.

You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you

You will have:

- An understanding of dementia, or a willingness to learn about the experiences of people living with dementia and those who care for them.
- Experience providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.
- You will be able to listen and communicate, with the ability to build trust and rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- The ability to manage your workload effectively, with appropriate support and tools, and to balance competing priorities.
- Confidence using IT systems to maintain accurate and confidential records.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred approach, with respect for diversity and individual lived experiences.
- The ability to travel independently.
- The confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding. You will be required to speak publicly at events about dementia, delivering information and signposting people to further resources and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver support through home visits, telephone contact and partnership working other professionals.
- Participate in the triage rota, ensuring new referrals are handled promptly, sensitively and equitably.
- Manage a defined caseload, maintaining accurate, respectful and confidential records.
- Signpost and connect individuals to appropriate local services and community networks, reducing isolation and increasing access to support.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment, contributing to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate and deliver regular peer support groups, creating a safe, inclusive environment where people affected by dementia can share experiences, build connections, and access tailored information and guidance.
