Job description

The Creighton Centre is a charity that has been supporting people in Hammersmith & Fulham and the surrounding area for almost 120 years. Our mission is to reduce loneliness and isolation by providing services that help people stay connected, independent and well. We work primarily with older people, learning disabled adults, people with a disability and families with young children.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our small and friendly team. This is a hybrid opportunity with flexible hours, home working and some attendance at our offices in Fulham, West London.

This is a senior, hands-on role leading our established and successful trusts and foundations fundraising programme, while working with our CEO to support capital fundraising.

We’re looking for someone with a strong track record in trusts and foundations and other grant makers who can work independently, write compelling applications, build good relationships with funders and manage the fundraising process from research through to reporting.

We are also keen to develop other fundraising opportunities including corporate support, individual giving and legacies which this role will support. You don’t need to be an expert in these areas but a willingness to help the team to make them happen is key.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and develop fundraising from trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies, including funding for capital projects.
  • Research and prioritise prospective funders and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop high-quality applications, proposals and cases for support, working with colleagues on projects, budgets and evidence.
  • Build and manage relationships with funders and oversee grants from application through to monitoring and reporting.
  • Work with the CEO and team to identify and develop other fundraising opportunities, including corporate support, individual giving and legacies.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong track record of successful trusts and foundations fundraising, including securing significant grants.
  • Is an excellent and persuasive writer, with strong research and analytical skills.
  • Can build effective relationships with funders and manage a fundraising pipeline from initial research through to reporting.
  • Is self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently in a small, hands-on organisation.
