Job description

Interim Workplace Project Manager

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire (3 days per week in the office)
Rate: £19-£22 per hour via umbrella company
Contract: 4 months

About the Role

Goodman Masson are delighted to be partnering with a leading housing association to recruit an Interim Workplace Project Manager for an initial 4-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of workplace, facilities management and corporate real estate projects, helping to create high-quality working environments while supporting the organisation's wider strategic objectives.

You will work closely with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and compliance standards. Housing association experience is highly desirable.

The role is based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, with 3 days per week in the office, just a 5-minute walk from Eastleigh station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan and deliver workplace, facilities management and real estate projects from inception through to completion, using established project management methodologies.

  • Budget and Risk Management: Monitor project budgets, timescales, risks, issues and benefits, ensuring effective governance and accurate reporting.

  • Facilities and M&E Projects: Coordinate planned and reactive mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects, minimising disruption to business operations and ensuring health and safety compliance.

  • Corporate Real Estate: Support property searches, acquisitions, disposals, lease arrangements and the ongoing management of the organisation's property portfolio.

  • Contractor Management: Manage contracts and build effective relationships with contractors, driving performance and ensuring value for money.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments, senior stakeholders, procurement, finance, legal teams and external agents to deliver successful projects.

  • Governance and Reporting: Provide clear, accurate reports on project progress, expenditure, property arrangements and risks to support senior-level decision-making.

  • Workplace Strategy: Help ensure offices and workplaces meet operational needs, support evolving working practices and align with wider organisational objectives.

  • Tenant and Service Charge Management: Handle tenant queries, coordinate service charge billing and support the review of annual service charge budgets and year-end accounts.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can confidently manage multiple priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships and deliver projects in a changing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience managing projects across workplace, facilities management, property or corporate real estate.

  • Experience in a housing association or social housing environment (highly desirable).

  • Strong project planning, budget management, risk assessment and reporting skills.

  • Experience managing contractors, contracts and external stakeholders.

  • A good understanding of health and safety, regulatory compliance and governance.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decisions.

  • The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • A full driving licence and/or the ability to travel efficiently between sites and tenant locations.

A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, is desirable, although training can be provided. IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid and Fire Warden qualifications are also advantageous but not essential.
