NAPAC (the National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is entering an important period of growth. Our income sources are diversifying, our public profile is rising and our operations are becoming more complex. With new earned income streams, additional grant funding, VAT considerations and more detailed Board reporting, we are now strengthening our finance function to ensure accuracy, clarity and confidence in all financial matters.

We are therefore seeking a freelance finance professional to provide part-time, ongoing operational finance support. The role involves managing our monthly financial bookkeeping and reporting functions, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and wider team. Our current provider will continue to handle payroll and year-end audit preparation, but we are moving our day-to-day finance support to this new model.

We are looking for a proactive, highly competent individual who can understand the way NAPAC works and provide accurate, timely and thoughtful financial support. This is a key role that underpins our success and gives confidence to the team, trustees, funders and external stakeholders.

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 45 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse? 

The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.

Key Responsibilities
To assist the refuge manager in the day-to-day running of the refuge, developing and delivering a front line service offering support, advice and guidance to women and their children living in the refuge.

*BSWA provides safe secure accommodation to some of the most vulnerable women and children therefore in order to ensure we provide maximum support and safety it is essential that our service is available to them 24/7. We do this through operating an on-site rota that covers weekends, evenings and bank holidays as well as a 24 hour call out system.

Experience Required

Experience of providing practical and emotional support to women and children affected by domestic violence

About the role

Reporting in to the Partnership & Strategy Lead, the Programme & Partnership Lead for Colombia will be the most senior and key programme, partnership and lead role for each priority country, maintaining oversight of a dynamic and responsive partner portfolio that aligns with organisational values and goals.

The post-holder will ensure Christian Aid's work in partnership employs a decolonised approach to improve locally led work and maximise impact. The role is key in exploring and contributing to multi country programme initiatives across the cluster. The role provides
oversight and leadership to embed a culture of impact. The role plays a lead role in convening spaces with partners and key stakeholders, including faith leaders, and catalysing for change. It plays a key role in strengthening civil society, and fostering coherent linkages among programme, humanitarian and advocacy interventions across priority countries.

The role works collaboratively with partners to shape our response to poverty across the priority countries, to enable a culture of continuous learning. The role leads on ensuring that initiatives contribute to impact in CA’s four global thematic areas.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Programme & Partnership Lead - Colombia include:

• Drive and lead the programme/project delivery ensuring that it is connected to work across the cluster.
• ‘Horizon scan’ to identify new potential partners that would enhance impact, and review portfolio under each of the 4 CA thematic areas (plus sub-themes of resilience, protection and inclusion) to maximise impact.
• Drive and enhance collaboration with partnerships and Christian Aid (convening) to effectively co-design, develop, plan, budget, implement, evidence, learn and communicate the impact from interventions within the programme. This will involve strengthening our collaboration with church leaders and FBOs, as part of bringing to the fore our faith identity and aligning with organisational values and goals.
• Manage a priority programme partner portfolio and ensure a collaborative approach in project design and delivery with partners to drive meaningful change.
• Be accountable for donor reporting and compliance, supporting proposal co-development and design with partners to foster a mindset of support and connection
• Lead in convening regular programme review, learning and reflection spaces with partners and key stakeholders, and when we bring CSOs together to enhance our mutual impact.
• Lead on representation for the programme and on country specific issues, and on ACT Alliance collaboration, including exploring joint programming.

About the Senior Trans Independent Victim Advocate role
 
Galop is looking for an experienced practitioner to provide effective support to LGBT victims and survivors of abuse and violence in the UK. You will work within the advocacy team to deliver advice, support, and advocacy to LGBT victims and survivors of interpersonal abuse and violence each year.  You will act as a specialist lead within the advocacy team for work with Trans and Non-Binary survivors, including providing support, advice and expertise to your colleagues and externally. 
 
As a Senior Advocate, you will provide high quality advocacy and support to Trans and Non-Binary people who are subjected to abuse and violence, specifically domestic abuse and sexual violence, focusing on their needs, safety and recovery. This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have been victims of violence and abuse.  Your work will enable LGBT people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community. 
 
You will work directly with Trans and Non-Binary victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to domestic abuse and sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care. 
 
You will manage a small number of specialist advocates providing needs-led support, information and advocacy to Trans and Non-Binary survivors of violence and abuse. You will also act as specialist lead for work with Trans and Non-Binary survivors within the advocacy team, providing support, advice and leadership to advocates on this specialism, to ensure that survivors get support that meets their needs. You will work with colleagues to ensure that survivors are supported in a trauma-sensitive way and that the needs of Trans and Non-Binary survivors are met, through sharing best practice and your expert knowledge and experience in delivering this work. This will include an understanding of the support landscape for Trans and Non-Binary survivors, the wider trans sector and the specific impact and support needs for survivors. You will contribute to the development of the TNBI service and work collaboratively across the organisation. You will need an understanding of legislation, the CJS, civil justice systems and domestic and sexual violence including ISVA/IDVA best practice.
 
You will have an in depth understanding of the spectrum of violence and abuse that Trans people are subjected to, including the causes, impact and barriers to accessing services. You will use your expertise to represent Galop with key stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the community.

We have an exciting opportunities for a Qualified and/ or Trainee Multidisciplinary Advocates to join our established and friendly Advocacy Team. 

We work for Rethink Advocacy, which is part of Rethink Mental Illness a national charity that has been transforming the lives of people severely affected by mental illness for over 50 years.

As an unqualified, inexperienced independent multi-disciplinary advocate, you will be required to enrol on the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice qualification and complete the course within a set timescale, using protected study time to focus on this. You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. You will receive training in the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. When providing non-instructed advocacy, you will ensure that the unique preferences and views of the person are taken into consideration in any decisions made by care providers.

As a qualified and / or experienced independent advocate, you will provide statutory and / or non-statutory independent advocacy to those who are eligible for the service within the community or care settings. Advocacy is having someone by your side, and on your side, when you want to be more involved in decisions about your care, treatment and living arrangements. An advocate can talk through the situation you’re currently in and the options open to you. They can help you decide what you want and then communicate it to people. This is particularly useful if it’s difficult to understand things or to speak up and be heard.

Our Wandsworth and Richmond service provides a range of specialist advocacy services to Adults (and children) as appropriate across a range of disciplines.  We provide a range of statutory (instructed or non-instructed) and non-statutory advocacy support in secure units, hospitals, care settings or in the community, working with a range of health and social care partners.

Responsibilities of our Community Veterinary Surgeon:

• To support the Chief Veterinary Officer in the development and delivery of veterinary services throughout the Charity with specific responsibility for the South West/Wales and the West Midlands.
• Support centre and volunteer site management through visits, conferences, and meetings to ensure effective operations and adherence to veterinary and welfare standards.
• Collaborate with the Chief Veterinary Officer and other vets to develop and implement unified policies for cat welfare, treatment, and homing, with Trustee approval.
• Assist in training and educating volunteers, staff, vets, and the public; deliver presentations and work with Education and L&D teams to enhance training programs.
• Provide veterinary-related support and guidance to centres, volunteer sites, regional vets, the complaints department, and the Helpline.

About the Community Veterinary team:

• We are a team of 4 Community Veterinary Surgeons who are all regionally based providing veterinary advice to the Cats Protection network across the UK
• The Community Veterinary Surgeons report into the Senior Community Veterinary Manager
• We are all remote workers but successfully support each other through weekly catch-up meetings, in-person meetings and a strong team ethos of collaboration and case discussion
• We support many other teams across the organisation involved in the welfare of our cats in care. These teams include our operational colleagues, the cat welfare team and our team of regional behaviourists

What we’re looking for in our Community Veterinary Surgeon:

• Experience of working in small animal veterinary practice with associated shelter/charity experience
• Sound, current knowledge of feline medicine, contextualised care, animal welfare, veterinary medicines legislation
• Degree in veterinary medicine
• Must be currently registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to practice in the UK
• Able to work accurately and under pressure

About the opportunity 

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager and Head of Philanthropy, you will support a range of fundraising activities, most predominantly researching new avenues for funding within trusts, foundations and corporate partners, completing grant applications, carrying out communications and reporting to existing funders and raising the profile of the charity through representing Action Tutoring at funder or networking events. Duties and responsibilities

• Research new opportunities for Action Tutoring to explore for fundraising and carry out initial enquiries to determine suitability to apply to trusts and foundations. 
• Prepare and submit grant applications to suitable trusts, foundations and corporates, carrying out careful research to ensure the applications are as strong as possible and include relevant data and case studies.
• Work alongside the Corporate Partnerships Team to encourage corporate support through donations or grants.
• Identify and lead on local fundraising opportunities in Action Tutoring’s nine key regions, for example researching and submitting applications for local grants and to local businesses.
• Research and determine suitability of profile raising opportunities or awards for Action Tutoring to apply to, such as corporate Charity of the Year opportunities, the Third Sector Awards and Charity Awards.

Qualifications criteria: 

• Previous experience in fundraising, or transferable experience that shows strong writing skills.
