Your Role: As an event professional, ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in an event coordination role and be ready to grow into a role with greater responsibility and autonomy. This is a hands-on event coordination role in a small team. Having a diplomatic and friendly manner with strong verbal and written communication skills, will be essential towards building relationships both internally and externally and while communicating with volunteers and beneficiaries. Event management/coordination skills are a key priority within this position, (especially delegate/beneficiary and event administration), combined with a meticulous, accurate and disciplined approach to work with strong IT and data management skills. Being able to prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver to deadlines. About Evolve

The Evolve Project is a collaborative partnership between Linklaters, UBS, Societe Generale and the Societe Generale UK Foundation, delivered by ELBA. Overall, the Evolve project aims to address the wider barriers and challenges faced in society & by community organisations & charities with a particular focus on Hackney and its surrounding boroughs of Tower Hamlets & Haringey. The project does this through supporting community organisations who are addressing different barriers like post Covid recovery, and the cost-of-living crisis, alongside continuing challenges of funding & sustainability.

Evolve aims to build the capacity of thee organisations, especially supporting the leadership, so they can keep up with the increased demand they are experiencing. Evolve has been designed to dynamically respond to the changing needs of local community organisations, drawing on the time, skills and expertise of employee volunteers to address the most pressing community challenges. The project is currently in its fourth year with funding secured for the following two years.

The role requires an ability to build a close and collaborative relationship across the community sector, particularly in Hackney, as well as with the corporate funders. A key focus is developing and delivering a range of exciting employee volunteering activities (including the Leaders in Partnership and Emerging Leaders coaching programmes) as well as leading monthly delivery and quarterly steering group meetings with the three business partners to ensure volunteer engagement and session development is meeting the aims and objectives of the project.

The post will be managed by the Head of Programme, Connect which sits within the Community Works programme at ELBA. The post holder will have weekly one-to-one meetings for input and guidance to achieve agreed targets and will be subject to annual performance appraisals.

Key Evolve duties

● Responsible for day-to-day development and delivery of the Evolve project

● Collaborate closely with community partners, corporate partners and the ELBA team to understand community needs and design appropriate employee volunteering activities to address these needs

● Deliver a range of employee volunteering opportunities focused on capacity building for local community organisations within the geographical remit

● Build and maintain strong relationships with Evolve partners’ Corporate Responsibility teams by organising regular meetings and responding promptly to company requests

Charity People are delighted to be working in partnership with the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) to recruit a Part Time Database Manager for a 12 Month Contract. Based in Islington, Central London this role is a crucial position within EIA's Fundraising team.

About Environmental Investigation Agency
The EIA investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. Their focus is the protection of wildlife, forests, oceans and climate. They turn the evidence they gather in the field into hard-hitting reports targeted at authorities who can make a difference, and campaign for new legislation, improved governance and effective enforcement.

The Role
An exciting and varied role, you will come in and work to ensure the smooth running of the gift processing within the department, liaise with Finance for reconciliation of income and expenditure, and manage the fundraising database efficiently and effectively.

Your role will involve the management of the database for the Charity, regular reporting on results from the database, ensure monthly reconciliation of the database with SAGE along with working with the Fundraising team to identify and deliver improvements to the database to ensure the smooth running of processes.

Essential to this role will be data selections and donation processing. This will involve selecting data for appeals, appeal emails and Investigator and Year in Review mailings. You will manage data received from acquisition activity, including lead generation, cash, regular gift and new weekly lottery players and add them to the supporter database.

The Candidate
We are looking for an energetic self-starter with a positive attitude who has strong analytical and excel skills. You should have previous experience of working with a supporter database or CRM (Access Charity CRM would be an advantage but not essential) Furthermore, you should have knowledge of selecting and importing supporter data through bulk imports and exports. Ideally, you will have worked within the Charity or non-for-profit sector, but we do welcome applications from other sectors.

In addition to this, you should be proficient in Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.

About the role:

This role is based in Portsmouth, operating as a hybrid working model with three days in the office, and two working from home. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will:

• Focus on victims of domestic abuse, providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support
• Support victims face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them & their family safe
• Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs & risk assessment
• Provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal & civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system
• Participate in multi-agency meetings by being the voice of the client & follow up actions agreed in meetings keeping the client's safety at the forefront of proceedings

You will need:

• A good understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
• Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
• An understanding of Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil & criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, prioritising work effectively
• Strong crisis management skills & the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
• Good communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
• To be able to use various IT applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems
• This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement
