About the Role
The South London Centre Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, smooth running and development of the South London centre and Smart Works service in Croydon.
They will oversee the delivery of a high-quality Smart Works service, to include managing centre operations, leading and supporting the volunteer community, and building strong relationships with local partners and stakeholders, to ensure that Smart Works is well-embedded in the South London community.
The Centre Manager will be a highly organised and proactive individual who enjoys making things happen. They will be equally comfortable managing the practical running of a busy public-facing centre, supporting clients and volunteers, representing Smart Works externally and identifying opportunities to grow the service.
They will be a natural relationship builder who is able to create a vibrant, friendly and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
The role would be based in the South London centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work for which staff are awarded TOIL. There will also be an expectation that this role may need to visit other Smart Works London centres or travel for outreach events and activities throughout the city.

As the Falls Prevention Service Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering falls awareness sessions, recruitment of Exercise Instructors, service promotion and recruitment of beneficiaries. You will also be responsible for sourcing suitable venues across Barking & Dagenham to deliver the exercise classes, ensure accurate data collection and monitoring for the service and facilitate access to services available in the community.
As part of the project you will be line managing the Trusted Assessor working on the programme to support people aged 50+ access small aids and adaptations to reduce the risk of falls and liaising with other key staff working on the project including Voices of Experience Coordinator and Nail Cutting Technician to ensure successful delivery of the project.
We require experience and understanding of proactive community approaches to support older people to keep active and experience of working in either health, social care or voluntary sector liaising with relevant professionals. You will need knowledge and interest in management of falls, good interpersonal skills, project management and data collection skills. You will also need good computer skills and abilities to use databases. An appropriate DBS Disclosure will be carried out for this post.

We're looking for a Welfare Manager to take charge of the welfare journey for every dog in our centre. In this pivotal role, you will drive timely, compassionate decisions through expert behavioural and veterinary rehabilitation, ensuring each dog progresses toward their forever home.
What does this role do?
As Welfare Manager, you'll:
- lead, coach and develop a small team to deliver high-quality veterinary care and behaviour modification for dogs in our care,
- act as a balanced advocate for both behavioural and veterinary needs to achieve the best outcomes for each dog,
- oversee staff and volunteer training in behaviour and dog handling, ensuring all colleagues work within SOPs, legal, and health and safety guidelines,
- develop and implement tailored behaviour modification plans for dogs with complex needs and monitor progress towards successful rehoming,
- support professional development of Behaviour Officers, Dog Welfare Assistants, and Supervisors through mentoring, assessments, and workshops,
- collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, informed behavioural support before, during, and after rehoming.

About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to design and lead an engaging year-round pathways and employability programme for young people aged 11 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.
You will work directly with young people, helping them identify their strengths, explore their aspirations and access meaningful education, training, employment opportunities and life goals. You will spend at least 50% of your time will be spent delivering sessions, mentoring young people and encouraging their participation. The rest of the time, you'll be opening doors building relationships with schools, colleges, community organisations and, alongside our Corporate Partnerships Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering workshops, projects and activities that develop employability and transferable skills
- Providing one-to-one mentoring and targeted support
- Helping young people overcome barriers and access appropriate progression routes
- Building partnerships with schools, colleges, community organisations, employers and corporate partners
- Developing inclusive programmes shaped by the needs and interests of young people
- Line managing a part-time employability youth worker and overseeing volunteers
- Monitoring participation, progression and programme outcomes
- Producing reports, case studies and impact information
- Acting as a senior safeguarding practitioner, with training provided
About You
You will have experience delivering activities, programmes or workshops to young people aged 13 to 19, along with experience of employability, careers or progression-focused work.
You will also bring:
- The ability to build trusted relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds
- An understanding of the barriers young people may face
- Confidence facilitating both small and large groups
- Experience building relationships with external partners and stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills
- Strong IT skills and confidence using monitoring and reporting systems
- A proactive, flexible approach and a strong commitment to safeguarding
Experience working with employers or corporate partners and knowledge of local education, employment and training pathways would be advantageous.

What you'll do

- Act as a senior ambassador for Living Streets, building relationships with donors, funders, trustees and partners

What you'll bring
- A track record of developing fundraising strategy in the third sector, with income generation success across at least two of: major donors, mid-level donors, individual giving, corporates
- Experience managing a team to hit department and organisational goals
- Sharp, persuasive writing and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues clearly
- A genuine understanding of funder care and how to build long-term relationships with grant-giving bodies
- CRM experience is a plus, as is knowledge of the transport, environment or health agenda

About our Community Crisis Cafés
Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.
About the Role
This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.
Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers.
Service Delivery
- Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
- Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to service’s process and undertaking 1:1s.
- Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
- Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.
