About the Role
The Communications Officer plays an integral role in helping to communicate and execute the organisations mission. Supporting the Head of Communications, you will be part of a small team striving to raise awareness of the important work the charity does, ensuring it reaches key groups of people who need help the most. One minute you will be brainstorming and creating innovative and engaging social media posts and videos, the next you will be helping with targeted outreach and monitoring recent campaign performance.
This role is at the heart of communications, helping reach the target demographics in new and innovative ways - and inspiring others to get involved through volunteering and fundraising. Your work will help shine a light on services and build a strong community around the mission.
Key responsibilities
- Create fresh, engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and LinkedIn in line with the Communications strategy;
- Keep on top of key happenings such as internal fundraising events and campaigns, awareness weeks, and be able to brainstorm ways to get our charity involved and in relevant spaces;
- Work closely with the fundraising and volunteer teams to capture their real-life stories and inspirations and spin this into newsworthy content for our audiences;
- Help deliver targeted campaigns that attract new volunteers and supporters.
- Maintain our image and video library so we always have brilliant content at our fingertips.
- Understand how to access and produce data for reports and analytics.
- Managing and overseeing the Communications calendar and inbox, ensuring we stay on top of trending and seasonal points of interest. Responding to media and external enquiries.
About You
We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a flair for creativity and the ability to
manage multiple projects. This person will have: a background in a Communications or Marketing
role, strong interest in mental health, the ability to write for specific audiences and understands the
importance of a brand and its key values. This person will be confident using Canva, Photoshop (or

The main duties of the role

Role purpose
Our new Household Crisis Caseworker position will work alongside our Crisis Alternative Service, Ealing Safe Space and information and advice service, Pathways. This new service provides support for Ealing residents 18+ who are experiencing household crises such as: housing, debt, welfare benefits, employment. This service aims to support those facing cost of living / household crises, by providing 6-12 casework sessions. This service will primarily support those from low-income households in need, pensioners, unpaid carers, care leavers, single-person households, disabled people and those struggling with one-off financial concerns or unforeseen circumstances. These sessions will cover a range of elements and will aid in navigating and liaising with services. Ultimately, preventing further crises relating to cost of living and empowering individuals by providing self-advocacy tools and support plans.
The role of the caseworker will be to provide advice, guidance and navigation to Ealing residents experiencing cost of living and household crises exacerbating mental health struggles. Support offered to each individual will be person-centred and tailored, but may include: liaising with statutory services (housing officers, social workers, mental health teams etc), supporting with form filling, sourcing warm goods, supporting with grants and income maximisation, emergency applications, empowering individuals with self-advocacy skills, signposting etc.
The successful candidate will triage, onboard and manage a caseload 15-20 individuals, whilst also supporting those who drop-in to the service who require crisis intervention on the day. In addition to crisis work, the caseworker will be expected to adopt a preventative approach and encourage referrals before a crisis occurs, via partnership working both internally and externally. There will be an element of outreach working for this post. The successful candidate will work alongside our Ealing Safe Space team and be supported by the Safe Space Team Manager.
The caseworker will be required to work within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS), adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.
Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage, onboard and support a caseload of 15-20 individuals

To support the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator, by running efficient and effective systems for front office and office operations. To support the Head of HR and work closely with the HR Officer in HR Administration. To cover for PA duties to the CEO when the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator is not available. This support and coordination role will help the office as a whole to sustain high professional standards and effectiveness.
The Office & HR Assistant is responsible for: office administration (50%), HR, Health& Safety & security administration (40%), finance administration (5%) and IT administration (5%).
Office administration (50%)
• Answer the AKF UK main phone line and pass on messages to AKF (UK) employees as appropriate
• Open and process the post at the Aga Khan Centre and deliver to the relevant AKF (UK) employee
• Manage the “front office” email account and ensure emails are replied to or forwarded to the relevant AKF (UK) employee
• Support the greeting and receiving of AKF (UK) guests at AKC
• Book meeting rooms at AKC for colleagues and external partners and arrange catering as required
• Support AKF(UK) events, facilitate and support hosting of meetings and events for partners, including travel, visas, accommodation, and catering; this may require some out of office duties
• Manage the meeting schedule for All Staff Meetings and ensure that colleagues are confirmed for the presentation slots
• Support the management of the organisation’s travel agent
• Support the management of the organisation’s mobile phone provider
• Arrange couriers for AKF (UK) employees as required
• Collect and maintain a detailed inventory of office equipment, IT equipment (mobile phones, laptops, desktops etc) and supplies
• Maintain the equipment purchasing guide with input from the IT Department
• Support the management of GDPR data lists and data requests
• Keep the Administration Manual up to date at all times
HR, Health, safety & security administration (40%)
• Maintain a detailed contact list for all AKF (UK) employees and keep it up to date
• Keep the AKF (UK) Emergency WhatsApp group up to date and share emergency messages as required
• Support recruitment processes by placing job adverts internally and externally as directed by the Head of HR
• Preparing and sending out offer letters and contracts as directed by the Head of HR
• Support the onboarding process including sending reference requests and background check requests
• Arrange induction and logistical arrangements for new employees including setting up phone, email, mobile, laptop, etc and purchasing new equipment as necessary
• Add new members to benefit schemes such as the private healthcare plan as directed by the Head of HR • Arrange leaving process for AKF (UK) employees and ensure all equipment is returned
• Draft responses to reference requests
• Support the Head of HR with the administration of the HR Management System (MyAKF) including updating it for joiners and leavers
• Troubleshoot any issues or problems with the MyAKF HR system, working with the MyAKF helpdesk
• Provide MyAKF system training to new starters.
• Draft visa sponsorship letters for all AKF (UK) employees and submit for approval and signature
• Provide Visa invitation letters to visiting delegates/employees.
• Coordinate with our travel insurance providers to arrange additional coverage for employee travel where required.
• Maintaining our training systems including allocating courses, adding new hires and removing leavers and running reports as required
• Support the Head of HR to ensure that employee health and safety and workstation tests are up to date
• Act as a Health and Safety Officer and Fire Marshal for AKF (UK)
• Act as a AKF (UK) First Aider including obtaining annual certification
• Create and cultivate an office culture that contributes to the happiness and well-being of all employees, including arranging birthday celebrations, celebrating unit milestones, arranging quarterly and year-end activities, and creating a space and place employees enjoy working in and feel positive about
Finance administration (5%)
• Assist the finance officers with the company credit card processes
• Scan and file bank statements
• Scan and file purchase invoices
IT administration (5%)
• Liaise with internal IT support as necessary to trouble-shoot issues and order equipment
• Work with IT services to ensure that all software is updated and maintained on individual’s computers and hardware on a regular basis (e.g. regular back up of all system software and protocols, including latest updates of virus software)
Other
• Cover the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator’s workload during periods of sickness or annual leave
• Undertake tour guide training so that visiting delegates and VIPs can be shown around the Aga Khan Centre and its internal Islamic gardens and courtyards.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator, Head of HR, Head of Finance and Operations, or the CEO.
Qualifications
• Educated to A-Levels desirable
• Qualified First Aider desirable
Skills
• Highly organised with strong logistical skills and proven consistent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, tact, patience and ability to work in a cross-institutional, multicultural environment dealing with senior and high-level officials/persons and VIPs
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills and ability to draft and write effective copy and present to a range of audiences from senior-level to partners and suppliers
• Comfortable working independently and under minimal supervision but also forming an essential component of a team
• Strong operational and IT skills as well as an openness to learning new software and tools
Knowledge
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Apple applications
• Keen interest in international development and improving knowledge of these issues will be a distinct advantage
Experience
• Proven strong experience of office administration
• HR administration experience is desirable.
• Proven ability to multitask in a busy, open-plan office environment; ability to work under pressure, juggling various requests and deadlines
• Proven ability to deliver a consistently high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
• Flexible approach to working, able to pick up a variety of tasks/projects with minimal supervision; ability to anticipate issues or scenarios when planning calls, meetings, or business trips, and to address them proactively

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.
We can’t do this alone, we have to build and maintain brilliant partnerships across government, with other funders and with wider society. We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead on this work. We also need to have an eye for the future. Our present endowment must be spent down by April 2029. We need someone who can lead on planning for the future.
Key responsibilities
You ensure that we:
· Are ready for the future: Born with a ten-year endowment, the YEF has become the leading authoritative voice on how to reduce violence affecting children. We must spend down this endowment by April 2029, so need to start thinking about after this date. You will lead on ensuring we have a great plan for post 2029. You will spot the best opportunities, assess them and, over time, take them. This includes both building great external relationships and also ensuring there’s a clearly articulated, inspiring narrative – filled with facts, examples and case studies - of what has been delivered to date and what needs to happen between 2029 and 2039 to double down on our mission. To do this, you will orchestrate the expertise and knowledge of colleagues across the organisation – ensuring that what you need comes together perfectly.
· Build and maintain great relationships across government: We have an increasingly large number of relationships across government – providing advice and support on what works to prevent violence. You will be ready to offer advice to colleagues on those relationships where needed. You will build new relationships and maintain them where they are needed so we are ready for the future. You will be really well organised too ensuring that internal colleagues know which relationships they own and making sure that key regular meetings are in place. We have a simple process that tracks these relationships; you will make this process work well for us – with minimum bureaucracy and maximum effectiveness. You will also provide help and advice and coaching as YEF colleagues think through how best to get system changes to happen that will ultimately reduce violence.
· Build great relationships with other organisations that will be key to the future: As the lead organisation on reducing violence affecting young people, we increasingly receive and see a host of opportunities to partner with other organisations including funders on projects, co-funding and research. You will support this work – leading on relationships that are essential in making us ready for the future. You will spot the opportunity, build relationships, bring in other YEF colleagues, pull together key information, write brilliant documents where needed, win others over. In short, you will make great things happen.
As a senior member of staff in the organisation you also:
- Lead on culture: Build and maintain a culture where it is natural to perform well and support colleagues brilliantly.
- Deliver on strategy: Contribute to setting the strategy, delivering results, and building and modelling the culture that we need to succeed.

The idea of writing one or two pivotally important longer documents (30-40 pages) for the organisation that makes the case for something and pulls in content from lots of colleagues, synthesising and making it all fit together sounds interesting. Hybrid Working Details
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.

We’re seeking an Individual Giving and Legacy Officer to join our growing Individual Giving and Legacy team!
This is a brand-new role, and you will have the chance to develop your knowledge across both areas of fundraising. In this role, you’ll deliver multi-channel campaigns that recruit supporters and you will develop our stewardship journeys, so supporters have a great experience.

- Delivering legacy campaigns across email, print and social media to acquire new legacy supporters.

- Developing and optimising stewardship journeys across digital, print and phone.
