As our Clinical Community Lead (Community of Practice), you will use your advanced clinical experience, service development expertise and multidisciplinary leadership skills to maintain our confident, collaborative and well-connected professional community. You will create opportunities for shared learning, practical problem-solving and the spread of best practice, helping clinicians and professionals feel informed, supported and equipped to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
You will be part of our highly productive Information and Professional Development team, championing our education and information work streams, extending their reach and ensuring professionals have confidence in the resources, learning and support available to them.
This is a home-based role withregular travel requirements across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including overnight stays.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and co-ordinate the Community of Practice, encouraging engagement, collaboration and shared learning
- Facilitate meetings, learning events and knowledge-sharing activities
- Promote clinical excellence, person-centred care and quality improvement
- Build effective relationships with practitioners, professional groups and external partners
- Support the identification and sharing of best practice, innovation and learning
- Mentor and support clinicians to develop confidence, competence and professional growth
- Identify learning needs and contribute to the design and delivery of education programmes
- Lead profession-specific groups including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and speech and language therapists
- Translate research and evidence into practical clinical approaches
- Provide expert clinical insight to support service development, resources and strategic decision-making
About You
Essential
- Registered clinician with significant advanced clinical experience in the MND field
- Proven experience of service development and improvement
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills within multidisciplinary environments
- Well-established professional network across MND care and research
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- Experience leading or facilitating communities of practice, networks or collaborative forums
- Experience designing, delivering and evaluating education, learning programmes or knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Excellent understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Experience using evaluation and data to demonstrate impact
- Commitment to inclusion, continuous improvement and supporting others to succeed
- Willingness and flexibility to travel in line with the role requirements

Consultant opportunity: developing our long-term vision and strategy
Now in its 75th anniversary year, World Physiotherapy is seeking an experienced consultant(s) to co-ordinate the development of its Physio 2040 long-term aspirational vision and a five-year strategic plan (2027-32) that operationalises it.
This is a two-part but interlinked assignment. Working closely with World Physiotherapy’s member organisations, global leadership, key stakeholders and staff, the successful consultant(s) will deliver an inclusive, evidence-based horizon-scanning and strategy development process, ensuring that our 2040 vision statement and strategic plan are completed ahead of the World Physiotherapy Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico in May 2027.
We are looking for a consultant or team of consultants who can:
- Coordinate and deliver the agreed vision and strategy development process, managing timelines, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery milestones to ensure that both are completed on time and within budget.
- Facilitate workshops and engagement activities, develop the new strategic framework, support the approval process and help translate our new strategy into organisational priorities and work plans with appropriate reporting, monitoring, evaluation and learning embedded.
Budget
The total budget available for this evaluation is £20k, including all expenses and exclusive of all taxes. All agreed activities and outputs must be delivered within this budget.
