About KLS Love to Learn team
Since 2004, KLS Love to Learn education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported thousands of young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family/carers needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.
Key Objectives:
Homework Clubs and Mentoring:
- Assess eligibility for Love to Learn.

Why Work for The Difference?
Schooling isn’t working for the children who need it most. Every week in England 109 children –
equivalent to three full classrooms – are permanently excluded. This is just the tip of the
iceberg. Since the pandemic, school suspensions have risen significantly, as has persistent
absenteeism. 1 in 5 children are missing more than 10% of their time in school. Children who
are excluded or persistently absent are much more likely to already be experiencing
vulnerability or disadvantage. They are more likely to live in poverty, have additional learning
needs, suffer mental health challenges, or experience a lack of safety outside school. Certain
ethnicities are also disproportionately affected, notably Gypsy Roma Traveller and black
Caribbean children.
Exclusion and high rates of absence can have a dramatic effect on life chances. These young
people are more likely to drop out of education or employment, become vulnerable to
long-term mental ill health, or be at risk of criminal exploitation. The Difference believes that
children and young people deserve better and that the education system has to change.
Our Organisation
The Difference is a young education charity, founded to change the story on lost learning. By
2030, we want rates of exclusion and absence to be falling nationally and for schools to be better
equipped to support all children, including those who may be vulnerable.
The Difference was born out of a year of research into school exclusions with think-tank IPPR.
This research identified a lack of inclusion expertise in schools and proposed a new leadership
development programme to fill this gap. In 2018, Difference founder Kiran hired the team who
took this idea from concept to reality, beginning work with our first schools.
The Difference is now a 22-strong team delivering multiple school leadership programmes,
alongside a growing research and policy arm. The team is supported by our Youth Advisory
Board, made up of young people who have experienced exclusion and who provide their
expertise and insights on how school inclusion work should be done. This work is needed more
than ever. Effects of COVID-19, coupled with the spiralling cost of living, have substantially
increased levels of vulnerability. Schools serving excluded pupils face under-funding. The
Difference has had excellent early impact but there is work ahead to scale this impact through
our programmes, share learning with schools and policy-makers, and grow our capacity to
lower exclusions across England.
The Task Ahead: Programme Lead
In 2019 The Difference launched their programmes working with 22 school leaders in
London. Since then we have worked with 447 school leaders nationally. We want to continue
to scale our programmes and reach more school leaders to help shape their schools practice
and systems to improve pupil wellbeing, safety and belonging. We intend to further develop
our programmes to improve inclusion in schools and successfully changing the story for
students currently struggling in school.
Key tasks for this role include:
● Deliver The Difference’s Inclusive Leadership Course to senior leaders from a
range of school settings. This takes place in venues across the country including
but not limited to the North East, North West, and the Midlands. Confidence
and passion to deliver the course to the high standards required.
● In-school support for The DIfference’s School Partnership (DSP). Delivering
across a variety of schools including mainstream secondary, mainstream
primary and Alternative Provision settings. Supporting the implementation of
key themes and content from The Difference’s Inclusive Leadership Course.
● Working closely with The Differences Research, Impact & Influencing team
members to capture case studies, research and impact metrics that demonstrate
the impact of the Difference’s programmatic work.
● Input to the evolution and development of the Difference’s programmatic offer
using insight from delivery and feedback from programme participants
● Working closely with the The Difference’s Partnership and Sales team to
support the reach and impact of the programmatic work.

Working with two highly experienced Programme Coordinators, you will help to grow our existing Youth Development Team activities, currently present in Hampton, and continue the development of our newly launched Aspire project.
This is a maternity cover role for a minimum period of 6 months starting in June. You will be based in Peterborough but also spend time at our centre in Cambridge.

Romsey Mill's Youth Development Team (YDT) works with disadvantaged, at-risk and vulnerable young people (aged 10 - 21 years) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. YDT are passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, live fulfilling lives and inspire change in the world. We currently engage around 1200 young people each year. Aspire is the name of Romsey Mill’s project that supports autistic children and young people. We currently deliver 14 specialist youth clubs across Cambridge, Cambourne, Linton and Hampton supporting over 180 autistic young people. We’re excited about further extending the work across Peterborough. You will work out of the office Romsey Mill rents at CSK Church in Hampton for 3-4 days per week. JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will work with faculty and BIR staff in the development and use of new learning technologies to support the educational mission of the BIR.
The post holder will manage the existing e-learning resources as well as develop new e-learning offering to our members and users. The poster holder will offer expert guidance, advice and direction on the design, development and implementation of e-learning materials and resources, and the use of interactive educational technologies to lead the e-learning development in BIR.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Manage the e-learning content
• Create new e-learning resources with subject specialists in medical imaging. This includes new initiatives (video course) as well as online learning library content and other e-learning offering.
• Lead and oversee the instructional design for the video courses
• Manage and review the content on the online learning library, including post-event videos, webinar series and training videos etc. Ensure the content are relevant for all categories and promote to our community
Manage the e-learning projects and implementation of e-learning system
• Develop and implement plans and timelines in collaboration with faculty and BIR staff to enable the phased introduction of e-learning projects and systems.
• Lead the team and work across the department to design, develop and manage the online learning elements including layout, tools, templates, authoring and processes.
• Manage all BIR learning systems including live platforms, Learning Management System as well as CRM system for event registration, online learning library and e-posters
• Develop and design technological solutions for problems specific to BIR educational activities.
• Maintain and review the systems for new updates to improve staff and user experiences
• Manage budget of the projects and ensure surplus of any e-learning development
• Cultivate and oversee essential relationships with external sister organizations to facilitate the successful execution of e-learning projects
Manage the digital team (video producer and digital event assistant)

- Actively contribute to the development and creation of creative learning projects, workshops and programmes for both current and prospective audiences in line with the strategic vision, including developing budgets, project plans and key aims and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver paid-for learning and engagement sessions across the City's heritage assets, driving revenues. Similarly, explore revenue opportunities for delivering a financial return across the remit of this role.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders from the local community including, but not limited to, London community groups, formal and informal education sector organisations, arts and non-arts organisations, and City businesses.
- Coordinate and implement a varied creative learning programme, including but not restricted to:

This Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation (LME) Specialist is a key role for AmplifyChange. The person is responsible for measuring the impact of AmplifyChange’s work for internal and external use. The LME Specialist works closely with the senior management team, across AmplifyChange teams and with external consultants on implementing and contributing to the learning, monitoring and evaluation aspects of our strategy. The role plays an important part in monitoring the overall grants portfolio and informing the learning agenda of AmplifyChange. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring the impact of AmplifyChange
• Producing a range of regular reports based on data analysis including on AmplifyChange metrics and results framework across our three delivery streams (which are grant making, organisational strengthening and building mutual support in the movement), as well as case studies from the grants portfolio
• Developing and monitoring the results framework for the strategy for 2026-2030
• Analysing indicators, milestones, and other quantitative and qualitative data collected from grantee partners. Compiling data and generating aggregate results for internal and external purposes as needed

• Reviewing and improving grant portfolio data structure and tools in collaboration with grants support and operations team
• Supporting grantee partners in developing their monitoring framework, from time to time

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
• Significant experience in participatory evaluation and learning
• Experience of measurement of advocacy, social norms and policy change in constrained-resource settings
• Facilitation of large group discussions
• Work experience in Africa or South Asian countries
• Knowledge and experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Excellent ability to write well and present complex information to non-experts
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience of using complex data sets and systems to generate reports and to inform decision making.
• Ability to work effectively across a number of teams
• Ability to work independently
Desirable:
• Portfolio analysis in a grant maker organisation
• Fluency in French
• Knowledge of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights
• Experience in using grant management software
REPORTING AND ORGANISATION
This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week, reporting to the Head of Learning, Impact and Partnership.
AmplifyChange is based in Bath and we operate on a hybrid working model with at least one day per week in the office. Requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered. Occasional international travel may be required. We can only accept applications from those with proof of the right to work in the UK.
SALARY AND PACKAGE
- Basic salary range: £37,000- £42,000
- Holiday: 25 days per annum on full time basis

The Role
You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships. With experience of applying to corporates, trusts, and foundations to secure 6+ figure donations over multiple years, you will be comfortable developing a strong pipeline of new business to meet income targets. This role will identify and cultivate new business and relationships to advance the mission and goals of STEM Learning.

To be successful as Fundraising Lead:
- You will have an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership for identifying opportunities for new funds and contributing to the overall fundraising strategy of STEM Learning.
- Adaptable and agile, you may already have an existing range of investor contacts and will be required to develop external relationships with institutional investors and High Net Worth individuals.
- Confident and communicative, you possess exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills – feeling at ease in presenting to a range of audiences made up of C-level executives, decision makers and High Net Worth Individuals. You must be comfortable ‘making the ask’.
- You will have strong networking skills at events and conferences - gaining insights into market trends and opportunities, helping you to develop a full understanding of the investment landscape and constantly seek out ways to grow our business.
- You will be able manage multiple priorities and influence others and demonstrate your knowledge of the business and its strategic priorities to achieve our goals.
- You will be comfortable delivering at pace with the ability to manage your work in a fast-moving environment whilst prioritising your tasks effectively to maintain momentum.
