This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator and able to build trusted relationships swiftly.  As this is still a new role, in a relatively young charity, your ideas will help shape this work and you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our fundraising in the UK.

You might have existing experience working with high-value donors, however we also welcome applications from candidates who have transferable experience from other areas - for example a sales or account management background.

• Proactively research, identify, and cultivate a list of new potential donors (high-net-worth individuals), building a pipeline of people to approach for support.

• Build and strengthen relationships with both existing and new supporters - developing and personally managing and inspiring a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, soliciting 5 and 6-figure gifts.

• Lead a programme of relevant cultivation and networking events, including receptions and lunches, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level.

• Develop inspiring and compelling ‘case for support’ literature

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.

Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with Allergy UK to recruit a Fundraising Manager.

It is estimated that over 40 million people in the UK live are affected by allergies, but there remains a huge gap in healthcare services for sufferers. Allergy UK are the leading national patient charity for people sufferers and work with government, professional bodies,andto help improve the lives of the millions of people impacted by this condition. 

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for meeting income targets through a range of income streams including, community/events fundraising, grants/trusts and developing other key income streams such as major donors, regular giving, and gift in wills. A further key part of the role will be to recruit volunteers to build capacity within the fundraising team, typically recruiting volunteers to support with challenge and fundraising events.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Providing insight in to the development of the fundraising and volunteering strategy and delivering on the strategy targets.
• Leading on the recruitment of volunteers with a focus on volunteers for fundraising and youth engagement
• Managing, supporting, and developing imaginative fundraising activities, some of which will be event based.
• Working closely with the Head of Supporter Services with the development of the supporter and corporate income streams, regular giving programme, a gifts-in-wills plan and contribute to bid writing for grant/trust applications.
• Inspiring new supporters to raise income, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.

This would be a wonderful opportunity for a fundraiser with experience across two or more income streams and a good understanding of volunteers.

EIA’s fundraising team has benefitted from significant investment in recent years and this brand-new role will enable the organisation to develop and expand a network of philanthropic partners.

EIA protects our planet by investigating and campaigning against environmental crime and abuse. Their focus is to protect wildlife, forests, oceans, and climate.

Through undercover work, research, and documentation, the EIA exposes criminal activities and works to bring those responsible to justice.

The Philanthropy Manager will lead on the development and delivery of a new philanthropy programme, which will include developing tailored stewardship programmes for HNWIs, expanding the donor base through effective prospecting and cultivation, working with campaign teams to develop donor funding propositions and embedding effective systems to process and support growth in philanthropy.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Develop a tailored stewardship programme for 5 and 6-figure level donors
• Work with campaign teams and the wider fundraising team to develop funding propositions for HNWI and a Case for Support for the different areas of EIA’s work
• Work with the support of the Head of Fundraising, embed effective systems and processes to support the growth in philanthropy
• Conduct regular prospecting and cultivation to identify new potential supporters

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Significant experience of identifying and cultivating relationships with high value supporters and securing significant gifts
• Considerable experience of developing and communicating high value funding propositions and writing compelling cases for support and applications
• Strong verbal communication skills, confident in communicating effectively and passionately with supporters, team members across EIA and senior stakeholders
• Commitment to the EIA values, work and support of wildlife trade and environmental issues
