The role will be a stimulating and inspiring opportunity for an experienced equality and discrimination lawyer to work pro actively and strategically to use the law as a tool for change.
BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change.
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism.
In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom.
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO.
Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

We are looking for someone who is excited about being part of a team that will build a legal service and who can work with Black communities and be guided by them.
You will also be able to demonstrate that you are aware that Black communities are not homogeneous and you will bring this understanding to the way that you approach your work and interact with clients, our partners and community organisations.
Your qualities will include an understanding that intersectionality is relevant in all that we do at BEO and that your assessment of how we use the law will be seen through that lens.
You will be someone who has lived experience of or insight and comprehension of the impact of racism on all aspects of the lives of members of Black communities.

Job description
Programme delivery:
- Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes, including Pride Groups, School Talks and School Diversity Week
- Manage the administration of Education Programmes
- Act as a first point of contact for schools on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes engaging with new schools to increase our networks and managing a busy inbox
- Engage new schools to increase our networks, including representing the charity at conferences and events

About the role
The Corporate Partnerships Manager role is responsible for delivery across the breadth of the partnerships pipeline. About the role
This role will be part of the Programmes and Learning team which is responsible for designing, managing and delivering locally led learning solutions and build a network of regional centres that can together create lasting change in the humanitarian system.
The purpose of this role is to work alongside digital and learning specialists to enable the development and delivery of an integrated and impactful digital learning solutions and support the maintenance of a portfolio of locally-led digital learning programmes.
The post holder will need to stay abreast of digital tools that meet the demand and needs of individuals, organisations and the wider humanitarian sector.
In this role, you will:
- Work alongside Digital Learning Specialists, Learning Specialists and Regional teams to
design and develop quality online courses, blended learning programmes and other
resources for the HLA and partners. - Support Save the Children staff and external partners with digital delivery and the
facilitation of blended courses. - Support learners, HLA staff and partners with day-to-day enquiries related to the
digital learning portfolio. - Support the localisation of learning resources, including administrating the translation
of resources. - Support the creation of digital assets – including courses, e-learning modules,
animations, videos, graphic resources – using a range of specialist software tools. - Help train staff within the HLA and Save the Children on digital learning tools.
- Work with the Platform team to help maintain learning hubs and sites created for
partners on the learning management system and other platforms. - Work with Research, Evidence and MEAL colleagues to help staff follow processes for
digital data collection and analysis. - Work with the Business Development and Operations to monitor digital activities
related to consultancies. - Keep up to date with emerging technologies and pedagogical theories to ensure the
HLA digital offer remains relevant and impactful. - Embed the team culture and develop strong ways of working within the team and
ensure clear and accountable governance mechanisms are in place.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the development and delivery of digital learning in a charitable, educational, or humanitarian context. You'll be confident supporting stakeholders at all levels of digital literacy.
You will have some prior knowledge of the use of specialist learning technology software and platforms with a strong desire to develop their expertise. This is a great role for someone who wants to become a specialist in digital learning design, development and delivery within the humanitarian sector.
It is important that you have:
- Demonstrable experience designing, developing and facilitating digital learning resources within a creative team.
- Experience coordinating courses on Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), ideally Moodle and/or Totora.
- Confidence with collaborating with stakeholders of all levels on digital projects and experience of digital training.
- Knowledge of instructional design, with experience of creating storyboards and developing copy for digital content that tells stories, communicates complex ideas and engages learners.
- Knowledge of how e-learning authoring tools can develop engaging learning and experiences (Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, Elucidat, Gomo, Evolve, Adapt).
- Understanding of the use of various webinar (Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom) and blended learning tools (Nearpod, Padlet, Mentimeter, Mural) to help support the remote delivery of technical training.
- Understanding of the use of standard industry tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere) to produce professional graphics, documents, videos and digital assets.
- Awareness of appropriate data analytics and reporting methods for digital learning.
- Confident in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite for producing documentation and collaboration, including experience using Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint.
- Desirable to have knowledge of and/or previous experience working in the humanitarian sector.

The Achieving Potential programme at SHP supports SHP clients with options and opportunities to build their confidence, learn new skills and try new things. We are recruiting to an exciting new post within our team, having recently secured funding to take forward our digital inclusion offer.
People experiencing homelessness are often from the most socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are digitally excluded. As the Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator, your objectives will be to spearhead initiatives aimed at increasing digital inclusion within SHP’s diverse communities. This multifaceted role requires a blend of strategic planning, community engagement, technological proficiency, and environmental stewardship.
