In this role you will play a vital role in supporting our fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives aimed at providing essential services to individuals affected by cancer. You will work closely with our Marketing & Communications Lead to assist with marketing tasks on agreed campaigns as part of our fundraising and communications strategies.

Time Commitment – A regular commitment of up to 2 days a week (a mix of office and remote based).

Main Duties

To work within an agreed brief with the support of the Marketing & Communications Lead on the following:

· Utilising skills in marketing and advertising to support projects to promoting our fundraising campaigns and events, both online and offline, to maximize reach and participation.

· Utilising skills, enthusiasm and experience in social media marketing – Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok – to create relevant content to an agreed brief.

· Utilising the design platform Canva to create marketing materials to an agreed brief.

· Tasks include campaign creation, creating e shots, social media assistance, contacting suppliers and paid advertising.

· Designing and producing fundraising signage to create an impact and inspire donations and fundraising from individuals, businesses and organisations.

· Related administration.

· Any other duties appropriate for the role and adhering to The Mulberry Centre’s policies.

The Opportunity

Are you looking to use your professional leadership and management skills to make a real social impact? We are seeking two proactive and highly organised Volunteer Operations Leads (Directors) to jointly support the hands-on delivery of our vital community hub programmes.

Guided directly by the CEO, you will work together to ensure our diverse services run smoothly, remain on time, and stay within budget. This rewarding role offers high-level operations management experience within the charity sector, allowing you to act as a central pillar across our entire organisation.

What You Will Do

As part of a dual-lead operational team, your role will span a range of business and project administration duties:

• Programme Delivery: Jointly manage and deliver community hub programmes (90% of which are free), ranging from our Homeschooling Hub to After-School and Holiday Clubs.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Support staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders, ensuring the team remains timely, professional, and kind during service delivery.
• CEO Support: Coordinate directly with the CEO to manage workflows, schedule essential meetings, and align project timelines.
• Human Resources: Assist with tracking volunteer onboarding records and training schedules.
• Fundraising Support: Help track grant applications and coordinate local fundraising events.
• Communications & Social Media: Create engaging content using Canva and manage our active social media profiles to promote hub activities.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Skills:

• Tech Literacy: Mastery of the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams.
• Design Tools: Proficiency in Canva to create engaging social media and marketing graphics.
• Communication: Warm, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Organisation: Strong time management, budget awareness, and the ability to manage diverse administrative tasks

Desirable Criteria:

• Driving License: A clean, valid UK driving license is highly preferred.
• Background Checks: A current Enhanced DBS check is ideal, though we can arrange this for you.

Commitment & Flexibility

We require a combined commitment across our core office days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with online remote workflows on Tuesday and Friday.

As this is an official job-share arrangement, the two Operations Leads will divide and coordinate these days between them to ensure seamless operational cover across the 3 core days.

We are looking for a creative and proactive Digital Communications Volunteer to support our online presence. This role focuses on creating engaging digital content, particularly for social media, including basic video editing and visual content. You will help us share our work, grow our audience, and engage supporters by producing creative, clear, and impactful content. This is a flexible volunteer role, with around 4 hours per week expected for a minimum of 3 months. Work can be completed at times that suit you, with occasional check-ins with the team. 

Key duties

• Create and schedule social media content (posts, graphics, short videos) 

• Edit simple videos for social media using tools such as CapCut or similar 

• Support content planning aligned with campaigns and key messages 

• Help maintain a consistent tone of voice and brand style across channels 

• Engage with online audiences (e.g. responding to comments/messages where appropriate) 

• Support basic website updates or digital content uploads if needed 

• Monitor social media trends and relevant news and developments in humanitarian, migration and health equity issues, and suggest timely content ideas.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has some previous experience creating content for social media / digital platforms, with an understanding of how different platforms are used 

• Is confident using tools such as Canva and basic video editing software (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar) 

• Has good written communication skills and attention to detail 

• Is creative, organised, and able to work independently 

• Is interested in digital storytelling and using communications for social impact. 

• Has access to their own laptop and internet.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. Learn Together CIC is looking for volunteer journalists to support Together Media, our media and public-interest storytelling project.

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!
