About Trade
Trade Sexual Health (Trade for short) is a small health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We currently have eight staff and more than 40 volunteers.
Trade began as a grassroots gay community response to HIV in Leicester in the late 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, Trade worked creatively to spread information about sexual health and HIV prevention to gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men in the city (GBMSM).
Trade has been a registered charity since 2000. Over the last 25 years, our core work has focused on improving the sexual health of gay and bisexual men across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We have always taken a holistic approach to understanding and addressing the range of issues that might impact gay and bisexual men’s ability to look after their sexual health. As a result, we started a counselling service – Approach Counselling – to support community members in improving their mental wellbeing.
We now draw on this experience to tackle wider health inequalities related to sexual health and HIV, and to provide peer support for anyone living with HIV in the areas where we work. For a small charity, Trade has always ‘punched above its weight’ and we have a national profile for the innovative sexual health work we do.
We currently hold contracts to deliver sexual health promotion and HIV prevention outreach in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland to LGBTQ+ people, asylum seekers, and a range of racialised communities that experience significant inequalities in relation to their sexual health.
We have a history of providing peer support to people living with HIV, and this is now becoming a growing strand of our work. This post is central to the delivery of HIV Peer Support in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (and builds on our experience of delivering similar services in Northamptonshire).
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver first-line peer support to people living with HIV, of all genders and backgrounds, in Leicestershire. The postholder will be based at the Trade offices in central Leicester and will work closely with clinical staff at the Jarvis Clinic at Leicester Royal Infirmary. They will ensure that people who have been recently diagnosed, are struggling with their diagnosis, or are re-engaging with HIV care feel supported and have the information they need to live well and thrive with HIV.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), bringing personal knowledge and experience to the role.
- Collaborate with a small group of volunteer peer mentors to support people living with HIV.
- Assist in recruiting new volunteers and ensure patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched with suitable mentors.
- Support individuals in developing self-management strategies, addressing stigma, reducing social isolation, and improving wellbeing.
- Develop a catalogue of services, groups, and support options for signposting.
- Encourage engagement with HIV treatment and care, improving ART adherence and promoting viral suppression.
Job Activities
- Triage new patients to identify specific support needs.
- Coordinate appointments between mentors and mentees.
- Refer or signpost individuals to specialist services (e.g. mental health, housing, benefits, immigration).
- Support the British HIV Association Standards of Care and National Standards in HIV Peer Support.
- Contribute to innovative approaches to peer support delivery.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure records.
- Assist in compiling quarterly monitoring reports for Leicester Public Health.
- Represent Trade professionally at forums and meetings.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with partners.
Accountability
- Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Receives peer staff supervision for project-specific needs.
- Accountable to the Trade Board of Trustees.
General Competencies and Conditions
- Competent in using software for word processing, data management (e.g. Excel), and social media.
- Able to work across various venues in Leicester and Leicestershire.
- Full driving licence preferred but not essential.
- Capable of independent decision-making and appropriate signposting.

Working Conditions
- Primarily based at Trade offices, with regular visits to the HIV clinic.
- Expected to attend team meetings, training days, and key events (e.g. World AIDS Day, National HIV Testing Week).
- Shares domestic tasks with staff and volunteers.
- Undertakes other duties as reasonably required by the Board of Trustees.

We are working in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) to deliver the Primary Care & Community Mental Health Service, supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support & Activities Coordinator to join the service. This role will lead the development and delivery of the peer support activities group programme, enabling people to develop self-management skills and reduce levels of social isolation.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting our team of Peer Support Volunteers, ensuring safe and effective delivery of the programme. You'll work to meet targets, develop and deliver psychoeducational and psychosocial group activities, and oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision. This will involve working closely with the Service Manager and SLaM colleagues.
The role requires strong communication and includes responsibility for dealing with safeguarding situations that may arise in your groups. Accurate record-keeping and outcome monitoring are essential. Occasional out of hours work is required.

About the Role and the Service
The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will play a key role in a new service to ensure unpaid carers in Milton Keynes are supported through a “no wrong door” approach.
Working as part of a partnership delivery hub with other local service provides, the postholder will provide person centred 1-2-1 support to carers of individuals living with mental health challenges and/or addictions. The Navigator will work flexibly offering face-to-face and telephone support to co-create wellbeing plans, strengthen resilience, and promote access to appropriate information, resources and services.
The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will also identify opportunities for peer-led support by developing and facilitating peer group(s) empowering carers to share experiences and reduce social isolation.
The role will also contribute to wider awareness-raising of unpaid carers through initiatives such as National Carers Week and the celebration of carers in the community.
Highly dynamic and self-led, the Navigator will actively help to shape the service, building strong links with local partners and ensuring unpaid carers of those with mental health difficulties receive inclusive, and accessible support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which supports unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions, in line with the service delivery model, contractual requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Promote and raise awareness of this service across Milton Keynes including building relationships with referral organisations, VSCE and statutory services and the wider community.
- Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
- Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
- Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
- Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
- Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
- Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
- Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
- Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
- Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
- Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions

About our Community Crisis Cafés
Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.
About the Role
This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.
Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers.
Service Delivery
- Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
- Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to service’s process and undertaking 1:1s.
- Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
- Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

The Psychologist/Psychotherapist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions, providing psychological assessments, formulations, and therapeutic support to asylum seekers and refugees with complex trauma-related mental health needs. This role will focus on the delivery of trauma-informed care, including interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
The psychologist/psychotherapist will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with caseworkers, assistant psychologists, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of psychological services into broader psycho-social support. A key responsibility is supporting and supervising assistant psychologists in the delivery of interventions, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and the service’s ethical standards.

About the Role
You’ll be part of a dedicated team within the Brent Young People’s Pathway, supporting 18–21-year-olds with complex needs including mental health, substance use, and risk of exploitation. The focus is on helping young people settle safely into accommodation, build resilience, and move towards independence through education, training, and employment.
Key responsibilities:
· Manage a small caseload of clients with complex needs
· Carry out risk assessments and create tailored support plans
· Work closely with multi-agency partners including social services and mental health teams
· Support clients to sustain tenancies and manage their income
· Encourage participation in volunteering, education, and training
· Maintain a safe and positive environment for all residents
· Participate in the team rota, including weekends and evenings

We are recruiting two Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Team at YMCA East Surrey.
Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) will be expected to integrate into YMCA East Surrey’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) team and to support all early intervention work. You will assess and deliver (under supervision), outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
This Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner role includes completion of the Child Wellbeing Practice Postgraduate or Graduate level Diploma run by the University of
Sussex, which follows the nationally agreed curriculum to qualify as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.
The post holder must have experience of working with children, young people and families with multiple and/or complex needs and hold a minimum qualification equivalent to a NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field. In addition, the successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
For the Level 6 (Graduate Diploma) the minimum level would be 3 x A-levels with grades of AAB - BBB (BBC if meet the criteria for contextual offer), or an equivalent qualification such as NVQ level 3 or above, or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at graduate level). Evidence of experience of working with children and young people.
For the Level 7 (Post-graduate Diploma) the minimum requirement is a Graduate Degree at 2:2, NVQ level 6 or above in Health Care or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at post-graduate level)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm. Includes attendance at the University of Sussex 2 days per week from January to October.
Location: Tadworth, but working across various locations in East Surrey and attendance at the University of Sussex.
Key responsibilities:
· Working in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties
· To develop plans for successful intervention and agreed outcomes.
· To support and empower children, young people and families to make informed choices about the intervention.
· To always operate from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.
· To accept referrals within agreed national and local protocols.
· To undertake accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
· To adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision, signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.
· Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope
· Provide a range of information and support for evidence based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help.
· Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or CYP in treatment, where appropriate.
· Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision making.
· Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post including practical, academic and practice-based assessments.
· As well as attendance at the University for training, fulfil private study requirements to enhance learning and prepare assignments for examination - recommendation is 150 hours of study for each of the 8 modules, which includes the teaching days.
· Assess and integrate issues relating to transitions, education and training/employment into the overall therapeutic process.

Kingston Carers Network's Young Carers Project (YCP) provides information, advice and support to young carers in Kingston. Our services include a weekly youth club and drop-in sessions, respite activities during the school holidays, one-to-one mentoring and targeted family support.
We are looking for a committed, proactive person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to lead the YCP team in supporting our amazing young carers, aged 5-18, who all have a caring responsibility for a family member. We currently support over 4000 carers, including over 800 young carers, who are caring for a relative or friend with a disability, illness, mental health problem or substance addiction. The successful candidate will have the ability to plan and deliver a range of activities and support to young carers to ensure that the project aims are achieved. Experience of working with young people aged 5-18 years is essential.
