This is a genuinely varied role. One day you might be crafting a social media campaign, the next you're coordinating our presence at a national sector conference. About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Content Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. You’ll lead on all content across the organisation, including two blogs (our Career Advice blog for candidates and our Recruiter Insights blog for recruiters), our email and e-newsletter copy, sales collateral, product messaging, PR campaigns and anything else needing an expert editorial eye.
Annual leave: 25 days (+ bank holidays)
Reporting line: you’ll report to the Marketing Director and be part of the Marketing team.
Hours: 9am-5.30pm (with reduced hours of 9am – 5pm in December and August). Flexibility will be considered.
Working arrangements: this is a hybrid role, with two fixed days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) working in the office.

Main Responsibilities:
The Individual Giving Manager will lead the development and delivery of the BHWT’s individual giving and supporter development programme, helping to grow sustainable income and build long-term relationships with supporters.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on fundraising delivery across regular giving, lottery, appeals, legacy giving, in memory fundraising and major donor relations. Working closely with colleagues across the charity, the postholder will enhance supporter journeys, improve donor stewardship, increase recruitment and retention, and identify new opportunities to maximise long-term sustainable income.
- Support the development and delivery of the charity's individual giving and supporter development strategy and annual plans.
- Lead and grow regular giving, lottery, appeals, legacy, in memory and major donor income streams.
- Create and deliver integrated fundraising campaigns across digital, email, social media, direct mail and other channels.
- Develop and continually improve supporter journeys to increase acquisition, retention, engagement and lifetime value.
- Design and implement donor stewardship programmes to strengthen supporter loyalty and long-term giving.
- Manage and grow the BHWT Lottery.
- Develop legacy marketing and in memory fundraising initiatives.
- Build and steward relationships with major donors, pledged legators and high-value supporters.

About You

- Proven experience managing individual giving programmes and delivering income growth.

About MediCinema
MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.
The Role
We are looking for a fixed-term maternity-cover Deputy Cinema Manager to join the team at our established MediCinema based in Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, serving paediatric patients in the Royal Hospital for Children, and adult patients from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The post-holder will work with the Cinema Manager and the team of nurses and volunteers who support our MediCinema, and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.
We run 4 regular inpatient screenings each week which includes evenings. The post holder will be required to work on a shift pattern to include evenings each week and potentially weekends. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these regular inpatient screenings.
The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Support the Cinema Manager in delivering a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
- On screening days be responsible for:
- Marketing the service through the hospital’s wards, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
- Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are always screened to the highest technical standards. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
- Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly and that, where appropriate, consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
- Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
- Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
- Help the Cinema Manager collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
- Assist with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
- When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with hospital departments and patient groups.
- Support the development and roll out of any new type of screenings we embark on.
- Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen' bedside services, including our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.
Nurse & Volunteer Management
- Help the Cinema Manager build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include assisting with recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
Marketing and Relationship Management
- Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, building relationships with key hospital staff, and working alongside our partner Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity who kindly support our paediatric screenings.
- Help develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
- Representing the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
- Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include fundraising events, live performance and other relevant activities.
Administration and other duties
- Deputise for the Cinema Manager as and when required.
- Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
- Help manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
- Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Glasgow MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach
- Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.
MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.
The Person
We are looking for a high energy, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about helping people and delivering impactful and effective services. They should be a warm, welcoming and positive person who can demonstrate the following skills and qualities, ideally combined with some experience in a people-facing/community-facing role:
- Strong organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
- A proactive, resourceful, problem-solving approach.
- An ability to work both on their own and as part of a team.
- Experience in using IT and an ability to quickly learn and understand new systems and technology. Please note full training on ingesting films and running the projection equipment will be provided so direct projection experience, while beneficial, is not required.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to caringly and openly relate to and build relationships with a wide variety of people, from children, family members, volunteers and hospital staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability, and enjoyment of a working environment where no two days are the same.
- Demonstrate tact and sensitivity when dealing with people with a variety of needs and be aware of issues relating to confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Interest and evidence of prior experience in healthcare, wellbeing and/or film & cinema.
- A sense of humour and congenial demeanour to help patients and families feel at ease and enjoy their MediCinema experience.

Job requirements
In a typical week you could:
- Draft a multi-channel engagement plan and supporter journey for an upcoming campaign that inspires new and existing supporters to donate one-off gifts
- Write, build, send a fundraising email reacting to a current event - reviewing the great performance and then influencing colleagues to make space to prioritise a reminder email next week.
- Brief a designer on the creation of a new t-shirt, and a content creator to generate ideas on ways to promote it to our target audience
- Collaborate with our Data, Insights and Web team to review the tests we plan to run in the next quarter, building in new ideas you generate together into our Direct Marketing and Email testing roadmap.
- Lead on a mailing project that spans multiple teams, liaising with our print partner and fulfilment house to deliver to print deadlines and manage the follow up communications to thank donors.
- Actively championing anti-racist values – tailoring your approach to those with different perspectives, and helping Greenpeace to reach a broader more diverse audience.
About you
You will love autonomy and will enjoy working collaboratively across the fundraising department and wider organisation. You’ll already have plenty of marketing experience to bring, and you’ll be able to take a strategic approach to delivery, independently taking on a key area of the direct marketing programme. You’ll be fully responsible for the assessment of the fundraising campaigns that you lead, and you’ll be focused on optimising performance to deliver income to power our fundraising and our campaigns.

Role purpose
This is a critical, income-generating role responsible for growing Perennial’s Individual Giving programme and increasing unrestricted income, with a primary focus on supporter acquisition and on supporter development and retention.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Communications and Marketing Manager with excellent organisational
skills to develop, implement and manage effective communication strategies for a charity based in the
healthcare sector, with a national and local reach across the UK and Ireland.

About Cool Earth
Cool Earth is a climate charity that protects the rainforest by supporting the people who live there. We have been working alongside local and Indigenous rainforest communities for over 15 years in the three largest and most important rainforests in the world, the Amazon, The Congo Rainforest and the Papua New Guinea Rainforest. Indigenous and local communities have been protecting the rainforest for thousands of years, but unfortunately are now facing a humanitarian crisis, lacking necessities like safe drinking water, infrastructure, healthcare, and stable incomes.
This makes rainforest communities vulnerable to exploitation by illegal loggers and extractive industries, who pressure them to sell their land. Once these industries take over, Indigenous peoples are displaced, losing their ancestral homes, culture, and traditional ways of life, and the rainforest is destroyed. Without these forests to regulate the earth’s temperature the climate crisis will only worsen. So what do we do to help?

Our main programme involves giving direct unconditional cash to rainforest communities so that they can decide how best to use it in order to improve their quality of life. Rainforest communities can only defend their land from illegal loggers and greedy land grabbers when they themselves are resilient and strong. We help them get to that point.
What you’ll be doing
Strategic leadership and impact: we have the digital strategy, now we need someone exceptional to deliver it and keep us on our upwards trajectory.
You’ll lead the charge across our website, social media and email to skyrocket our visibility and engagement. By managing our talented Digital Officer, you’ll ensure every campaign isn't just seen, but drives action. Helping to deliver the KPIs that will define our success through 2026 and 2027.
Social Media and storytelling: in collaboration with our in-country coordinators, you’ll turn raw, frontline stories from people who live in the rainforest, and experts across the team into compelling, high-quality content. You’ll also help us develop key individuals to become the face of Cool Earth’s social. You’ll oversee our organic and paid social strategies (awareness and lead gen), working with our agency partners to ensure every post and every ad isn't just noise, but a meaningful step toward increased engagement and donor conversion.
Digital innovation and website excellence: you will champion our digital home, working with our web agency to deliver a seamless, high-performing website experience. From SEO housekeeping to major content overhauls for AEO and GEO visibility, you’ll ensure our site is more than just a resource, it’s an accessible, optimised journey that captures the imagination of every visitor and converts visitors into supporters and/or donors.
PR and influence: You’ll amplify our press work to help break through the noise. By nurturing relationships with our ambassadors and seeking out global influencers, you will secure the kind of content that puts Cool Earth at the center of the climate conversation.
Movement building via email: you’ll lead our email marketing strategy, working with our fundraising team to email supporters weekly with impact, stories from the forest, quizzes and more. You’ll use DotDigital and Salesforce to build deep, automated journeys for new supporters. By working with our CRM lead, you’ll ensure our donors receive the right message at the right time, turning one-time supporters into lifelong advocates for the rainforest.
Data-Driven Growth: You’ll constantly monitor performance and review the data, providing the Head of Marketing and Communications with the insights needed so we can keep pivoting and growing.
You’ll be proactive, testing, optimising, and implementing agency recommendations to ensure our supporter base is constantly expanding and our conversion rates are always climbing.

Marketing & Communications Manager Role

As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will lead and deliver dynamic, integrated marketing and communications activity that raises awareness, strengthens our brand, supports fundraising growth and positions Prostate Cancer Research (PCR) as a trusted and influential voice in prostate cancer research and patient advocacy.
Working across the organisation, you will bring campaigns, stories and partnerships to life through compelling content, proactive media outreach and audience-focused communications. From coordinating awareness campaigns and celebrity engagement to developing press releases, managing digital channels and responding to media opportunities, this is a varied, fast-paced role with real impact.
You will play a central role in ensuring PCR remains visible, relevant and influential, helping us reach new audiences, inspire supporters, amplify patient voices and ultimately drive change for men affected by prostate cancer.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Deliver integrated marketing and communications activity across the charity, ensuring consistency of messaging, tone of voice and brand identity.
- Manage and maintain the organisational communications calendar and messaging hierarchy.
- Support the development and delivery of high-impact campaigns, awareness activity and organisational announcements.
- Create engaging content across digital and print channels including website copy, email communications, campaign assets and supporter materials.
- Coordinate and support social media activity in collaboration with colleagues.
- Support internal communications activity to improve collaboration, awareness and information sharing across teams.
- Lead the planning and coordination of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month activity annually.
Media & PR
- Work closely with our external media agency to develop and deliver impactful media campaigns.
- Draft press releases, media statements, briefing documents and reactive comments as needed.
- Support proactive media outreach and identify opportunities to secure media coverage and raise PCR’s profile.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, media outlets and external partners.
- Monitor the news and identify opportunities for PCR to contribute expert comment and thought leadership.
- Provide out-of-hours media support, including responding to journalist enquiries where required.
Brand, storytelling & ambassadors
- Uphold and strengthen PCR’s brand identity across all communications and platforms.
- Manage and grow PCR’s ambassador, celebrity and case study programmes.
- Identify, recruit and steward compelling patient stories and supporter case studies.
- Support photography and video shoots to ensure content is impactful, inclusive and aligned with the brand.
- Work closely with ambassadors and celebrity supporters to maximise engagement, visibility and campaign impact.
Cross-organisational support
- Partner with fundraising, research, patient projects and influencing teams to deliver coordinated communications support.
- Develop marketing materials and storytelling assets to support fundraising campaigns, partnerships and events.
- Identify opportunities for greater collaboration, integration and impact cross-organisationally.
- Support the delivery of a future brand review and refresh project if required.
Skills and Competencies
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
- Experience in a marketing, communications, PR or media role, ideally within the charity, healthcare or not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling, audience-focused content.
- Experience drafting press releases, media materials and digital communications content.
- Strong understanding of media relations, storytelling and brand communications.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing social media and digital communications channels.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, journalists, ambassadors and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, creative and solutions-focused approach with the confidence to spot opportunities and act on them.
