The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.
 

This will primarily focus on securing support for our work to engage young people through:

• The Big Bang programme which comprises The Big Bang Fair, the UK’s largest STEM Careers Fair; the Big Bang at School, smaller Fairs within schools; and The Big Bang Competition

You will implement a philanthropic giving strategy that significantly shifts the museums approach towards the generation of substantial philanthropic income and that supports the Museum's vision and mission. You will work collaboratively with the Executive, Board of Trustees and senior leadership team to establish a long-term plan and supporting fundraising strategies that align and help the museum move forward with its objectives.

 Cultivate and Steward Donors

You will actively cultivate and steward relationships with potential and existing donors, for major new, repeat and legacy gifts, significantly raising the profile of Beamish, generating excitement and a desire to support Beamish now and into the future across a range of projects.  These will be supported by stewardship plans that foster mutual trust to secure ongoing support. 

Reputation and Engagement

You will build the profile of the Museum through donor engagement.  You will personally manage a portfolio of prospective donors, guiding them through the cultivation process, and ultimately securing new funding. You will work closely with the CEO building new networks, opening new doors and linking with communities in support of the museum's philanthropic goals and furthering its reputation and that of the sector.

Successful Philanthropy Team

You will ensure a high performing team is in place that supports Beamish’s Philanthropic strategy, imbuing a culture of innovation and enterprise across the museum. The team will ensure day to day delivery of the function, including to trusts and grants, provide excellent customer service, and produce timely data to support and measure the impact of all giving.  The team will champion equality, diversity and sustainability and creating a strong culture of philanthropy throughout Beamish.

Job Purpose

The post holder will work cross-functionally to provide front-line administrative and transactional systems support to the People team and the Finance team. Within the HR/People elements of the role, the focus will be on day-to-day systems and process queries, recruitment, HR system support to Ada’s staff, compliance and general HR administration. Role Responsibilities:

Finance Support: 60%

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Purchase Ledger:

• Ensure that purchase requisitions are received and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner,
• Ensure that all expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account, and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure all suppliers’ invoices are attached to purchase requisitions on ApprovalMax
• Prepare mid and end of the month BACS payment run and ensure that suppliers are paid within payment terms,
• Receive and check all statements from suppliers,
• Investigate and action any issues that arise with regards to creditors,
• Regular review and maintenance of the outstanding purchase order and goods received notes report,

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Sales ledger:

• Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are processed and sent to debtors promptly,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are monitored and chased so that the prompt payment is received

Petty Cash:

• Ensure that the disbursement of the funds, keeping records of those disbursements and requesting replenishment of the fund is done accordingly to the Petty Cash Policy;
• Ensure that the reconciliation of the business petty cash transactions is done on the bi-weekly basis in the Xero finance system.

Other finance duties:

• Support Assistant Finance Manager in preparation of the pay runs;
• Monitoring finance account inbox and dealing with staff, students and supplier queries to ensure they are quickly and properly resolved;
• Support staff in following the financial policies and procedures, such as: filling out charge card tracker, purchase orders, setting up new supplier;
• Support the Finance team in setting up a Fixed Asset Register and making sure it is kept up to date on a regular basis;
• Support the Finance Team with any other queries that may arise.

HR Support:

Recruitment

• To work with the HR Manager to draft adverts for posts being advertised, ensuring that they are well-written and engaging.
• To obtain quotes for advertising on various job boards and recruitment media channels in a timely and accurate fashion ensuring the best possible exposure for vacancies
• To coordinate interview/selection logistics including room bookings, diary management, scheduling and preparation of relevant materials and sending invites to candidates
• To support the HR Manager with the administration processes around onboarding and offboarding of staff including consultants, mentors, volunteers and governors.

Inbox Management & Staff queries

• To manage the recruitment inbox, responding to candidate and hiring manager queries in a timely manner
• To work with the HR Manager to manage the HR inbox, responding to staff enquiries in a timely manner recognising that some correspondence will be highly confidential and/or sensitive in nature.

Systems & Compliance

• To be the main point of contact for all HR system queries and to action all first-level system transactions, escalating more complex transactions to the Head of People & Talent or the HR Manager.
• To send out reference requests for all shortlisted candidates, chasing responses and passing on to the relevant line manager
• To maintain spreadsheets and trackers to ensure all relevant HR information is collected and collated (eg vacancies, DBS and other pre-employment checks, probationary periods, performance management, exit interviews.)
• To create and maintain electronic copies of  personnel files
• To support with the updating of the Single Central Record for all staff, volunteers, consultants, agency workers and governors
• Under the direction of the Head of People, issue relevant letters to staff in relation to Employee Relations (ER) matters ensuring that timelines are strictly followed, meetings arranged, notes/minutes taken and all paperwork, including checklists, is fully completed.
• To support the People team with all HR policies, processes and projects as required.

General Administration

• To provide accurate data for Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in monthly data returns,
• Liaising with CIVICA support team to seek advice on better use of MIS (REMS),
• Acquire data from primary and secondary sources and update database system REMS,
• Keeping up to date with the latest ESFA funding rules and regulations.

• Coordination Support for the Finance or People/HR elements of staff on-site events

SSAFA’s Network & Community team, operating across the UK, are proud to announce this role as part of their strategic development plans.

This is a new fundraising opportunity to help provide support for serving personnel, veterans and their families ensuring that no-one battles alone.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will join at an incredibly exciting time for the charity and corporate partnerships programme. Sitting on the Fundraising SLT and leading the team of four, the Head of Corporate will bring a new business lens to the portfolio, driving new brand and commercial, strategic and charity of the year partnerships. The role will also oversee a Department of Health funded programme to bring pregnancy information to SMEs.

Personally leading on and supporting the Senior Partnerships Manager in developing new business will be a key element of the role, including building propositions around key campaign moments. Additionally, the Head of Corporate Partnerships will work closely with the Deputy Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop a longer-term strategy to be in a position to win the large-scale transformational partnerships. Overseeing the existing portfolio, managed by a Partnerships Manager, will also be crucial; there are a number of upcoming renewals and opportunities for growth.

This could be a great opportunity for a Senior New Business Manager to step into a team leadership position.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the team to deliver £870k income this year, ensuring plans are in place to grow to £1m+ in years to come
• Regular monitoring of the pipeline, including reforecasting where necessary
• Take a lead and active role in developing and nurturing a robust pipeline of new corporate partnerships opportunities
• Develop and deliver the next stage of the corporate fundraising plans
• Build and manage relationships with key partnerships and prospects

The Partnerships Manager will manage a portfolio of commercial and fundraising accounts totalling c.£250k, as well as some new business development. The portfolio includes a £60k per annum CRM relationship with Plum & Ashby, focused around the Wave of Light candle campaign for Baby Loss Awareness week, with lots of influencer and comms engagement. The new business element will support the Senior Partnerships Manager and the Head of Corporate in their new strategy for increased brand, strategic and coty partnerships.

Key responsibilities:

• Account manage and build strong relationships with corporate partners at a 5-figure+ level
• Create and deliver high quality account management and stewardship plans for your accounts
• Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders internally and externally
• Take a proactive role in developing and nurturing a pipeline of new opportunities

Essential criteria:

• Experience of fundraising in a charity setting – ideally in corporate partnerships, although we’d also be open to transferable skills from trusts, major donors or community fundraising
• Successfully managing funder relationships at a 5-figure+ level
• Experience owning and delivering upon a fundraising target and KPIs
• Takes initiative, results driven, proactive, empathetic and collaborative qualities

Events Officer
Working Hours:  30 to 37 Hours per week

The North-West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North-West Region.

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) tackles serious organised crime across the North West region. The NWROCU carries out investigations into serious and organised crime on behalf of police forces in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and North Wales. The lead force for NWROCU is Merseyside Police, with the Assistant Chief Constable of NWROCU reporting into Chief Constable Serena Kennedy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner as a fully qualified accountant to provide pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders for the financial management of the ROCU. Job Description

As a Senior Finance Business Partner you will provide pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders for the financial management of the ROCU. Assist the Head of Enabling Services in the provision of a professional financial planning, management and accounting service, maintaining the integrity of NWROCU's financial records, and developing new systems and processes to comply with legislation, with a clear focus on ensuring best use of resources based on sound and demonstrable financial reasoning.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with budget holders and senior managers, ensuring that needs of the budget holder are fully satisfied, and SLA's adhered to.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting upon the financial position of units to relevant stakeholders using appropriate means of communication and methods of financial analysis to ensure an effective and efficient budget management service is provided. This will include attendance at key SLT/Command Team meetings as the finance expert.
• Provision of professional challenge, support and advice to budget holders over a wider range of subjects, with a clear focus on obtaining best value, and best use of resources for the Force. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations
• Review and monitor expenditure on supplies and services; and produce recommendations for improved efficiencies where appropriate for effective financial management of the NWROCU budget.
• Provide assistance with the preparation of the capital programme in order to determine the capital financing requirement of the NWROCU.
• Maintain the asset register and capital accounting records ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Provide technical input in the development of budget monitoring to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and to meet specific requirements of the NWROCU.
• Complete statutory returns and grant claims; prepare appropriate working papers to ensure the maintenance of financial accounts.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Fully qualified CCAB Accountant.
• Have experience of working within a large and complex financial environment; with specific knowledge and experience of fulfilling a budget management role.
• Have advanced communication skills to deal effectively with a variety of potential stakeholders. This includes the ability to challenge devolved budget managers, and budget holders, present and disseminate financial information effectively to nonfinancial officers, and to present both verbal and written reports to Chief Officers and other stakeholders.
• Well-developed analytical skills, and the ability to pro-actively respond to financial issues as they arise.

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.
