You will join the UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence Department within the Chief Executive’s Directorate. The team is responsible for leading UK strategy development and delivery across advocacy (policy, public affairs, campaigning) and health intelligence, working closely with colleagues across the UK to ensure effective delivery of the strategy in each nation. The department sits in the Chief Executive’s Directorate to ensure driving positive change with and for people with arthritis is at the heart of the organisation.

The Department works closely with colleagues across the charity, including Services, Research and Income and Engagement to ensure we are joined up in our approach to arthritis.

About the role

You will lead and manage projects that support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful Musculoskeletal (MSK) and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with MSK conditions and to inform the direction of our ambitions, strategy, policy and services work. This includes obtaining, analysing, publishing and presenting MSK epidemiological and health data, and working with others to influence improved quality, coverage and use of MSK health data.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of epidemiological research methods and health metrics (such as incidence and prevalence)
• Strong experience using of statistical software e.g. R, Stata, SPSS
• Strong experience using NHS and other national health-based datasets, and a good understanding of UK health and social care systems
• Experience of using multiple sets of health-related data and information systems, and large-scale data sets for policy, quality improvement or research purposes
• Experience of using data to improve the understanding of health inequalities and disparities for public health purposes
• Ability to interpret, present and communicate complex data in accessible lay terms, including producing data-rich reports for a range of technical and generalist audiences.
• Project management and organisational ability, including being able to prioritise activities and independently manage own workload that includes multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and able to work in partnership with people at all levels, demonstrating strong skills in networking and influencing.
• Experience using data to produce infographics or data visualisation.

The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to ensure back-office functions are efficient and timely. You will work across our fuel poverty and retrofit projects supporting project managers and key staff to ensure administrative tasks are completed to a high standard. The role will be varied, and some tasks will change over time as we secure further funded projects that require administrative support.

Pay and conditions.

• The role is a fixed term period of 12 months. We will consider applications for the role on a full or part-time basis, with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.
• The salary for the role will be £28,124 per year full-time (37.5 hours per week), pro rata for part-time.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• To sort HES inbound post, ensuring items are passed to the correct team or staff member.
• To coordinate HES outbound post requests, collating and printing information to send to households.
• To speak to households by telephone and triage households to appropriate HES projects.
• To book home visits for advisors and retrofit assessors, keeping calendars up to date with appointments, cancellations, and amendments. Accurately completing the home visits risk assessment when required.
• To assist with householder applications for grants and other funding schemes. Contacting clients to complete forms or collate paperwork or electronic evidence.
• To record client details and follow HES team guidance documents to assess the help and support needed.
• To update our client databases and other contact management systems accurately.
• Support the internal and external training programmes, such as booking inductions for new starters, distributing training materials after training sessions and making sure evaluations are completed.
• Help provide HR support for HES staff, through processing annual leave requests or sending appraisal reminders.
• Oversee the smooth running of HES processes, such as the complaints procedure or keep track of subscription packages.
• Maintain stocks of leaflets, factsheets, freepost envelopes, and similar items, including organising printing where needed.
• Take minutes during team meetings and share any actions.

This senior communications and marketing role will be responsible for steering the ongoing digital transformation of CAFODs work, primarily in the supporter programme and also across the wider organisation.

This role encompasses overall responsibility for the brand, digital marketing, messaging, proactive and reactive media relations, with a core focus on digital transformation across all platforms. Position: Social Worker or Senior Social Worker

Location: Based in either our Milton Keynes or our London team, with hybrid working arrangements in place for both home and office working, and travel covering Milton Keynes, North London and surrounding areas.

Contract: Permanent full time – 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary Ranges: Social Worker - Salary in the range of £34,053 - £41,620 per annum. Senior Social Worker - Salary in the range of £39,292 - £48,022 per annum.  If based from our London office, a location allowance of £3,299 per annum will be payable.

About the role:

Our Social Worker/Senior Social Worker’s role is a pivotal one within our Adoption service.  Some of your responsibilities will include:

· undertaking ‘home study’ assessments (PARs) and present these to the adoption panel

· support families throughout the matching process and once children are placed, up until the Adoption Order

· participating in recruitment activities and training for prospective adopters

About you:

As a Social Worker, you’ll bring a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in childcare social work and as a Senior Social Worker, a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience. You’ll have an understanding of child development and the impact on behaviour of interrupted development. You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, equity and inclusion within service delivery.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Training, Conferences and Events Assistant to join our Education and Training Division. The Policy and Campaigns Officer will develop policy positions and campaigns that will help ensure that the needs, rights and priorities of those living with DMD are understood and acted on by decision makers, policy makers, parliament and government. The Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Policy and Communications team to support a cohesive and impactful approach to policy, engagement and communications.

Job Description

• To ensure that the charity’s policy and campaigning work is firmly grounded in the views and experiences of the DMD community and to ensure that they are consulted and involved in the development (and delivery where appropriate) of Duchenne UK’s policy positions and campaigns.
• To maximise the benefits of our existing relationships with civil servants, parliamentarians, policy makers, relevant organisations (such as NICE) and charity sector professionals and to create new relationships which help us to achieve our aims.
• To organise events and parliamentary activity working with parliamentary supporters and the DMD community.
• To devise low-budget campaigns aimed at creating positive change in policy, practice or attitudes that will improve the lives and outcomes of those living with DMD. 
• To create campaign assets such as digital and social media content in collaboration with the communications team.
• To draft consultation responses, policy positions and occasional short reports summarising the findings of research we have conducted or commissioned.
• To monitor relevant government proposals and initiatives, identifying those likely to have a major impact on the lives of those living with DMD, and to seek to influence their development.
• To stay abreast of relevant academic research, build relationships with key academics and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Person Specification

Essential experience:

• Experience of working in a policy and/or campaigning role.
• Experience of writing for a range of audiences and using different channels to produce convincing, clear and succinct content across a range of platforms such as blogs, web and print.
• Experience of working with civil servants and parliamentarians.
• Experience of using digital and social media for influencing and campaigning purposes.

Desirable experience:

• Project management experience including initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating campaigns and organising events.

About The Role

As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications. 

This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. You’ll support applicants and funded partners, make funding recommendations, administer grants, provide feedback and support, and visit projects.

First and foremost, you’ll be passionate about the work that Youth Music does. As a skilled administrator, you’re not fazed by planning, monitoring, reporting, and spreadsheets. You have an eye for detail. You’ve got good IT skills and working knowledge of how databases operate. With the development of our new database this is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys developing processes and working with data and detail. 

You’re a collaborative worker who enjoys being part of a friendly team, as well as travelling on your own to build new relationships with a diverse range of people. As a grants manager you’ll have an instinct for what’s important – when to give advice, and when to step back.

Grant Making

• Relationship management for a diverse portfolio of grants within allocated areas or specialisms.
