The successful candidate will lead on delivery of our voluntary sector support activity, working as part of our award-winning Barnet Together partnership with Young Barnet Foundation and Groundwork London.  You will ensure we continue a strong delivery of our offer and that we increase membership and engagement, and act as Inclusion Barnet’s Operational Lead within the partnership.  You’ll undertake some delivery yourself, supporting groups with funding applications and more complex governance queries.  You’ll also convene Barnet’s Environmental Network, and attend some key local meetings to provide representation of the sector’s views.

About The Role

We’re seeking a dynamic individual to support Medair UK’s engagement with trusts and foundations in the United Kingdom. You will be an integral part of this growing Christian charity. You will enable support for the life-saving work Medair delivers to some of the world’s most vulnerable people by driving forward our relationships with UK trusts and foundations.

About You 

You will be a positive and solution focused fundraiser, ready to take initiative and embrace challenging targets. Ideally you will have experience in growing income from trust and foundations from both longstanding and new potential partners, or be able to demonstrate highly relevant transferable experience. You will be capable of compiling strong fundraising proposals; produce high quality reports; partner with financial colleagues in preparing complex budgets and financial reports. A compelling written communicator, you will have a keen understanding of the humanitarian sector, and of what motivates trusts and foundations to support this work. 

Key Activity Areas  

Lead Generation  

• Be responsible for account management of caseload of mid-range Trusts & Foundations.

• Work collaboratively with the Engagement Manager, Engagement Support Officer and volunteers in the identification, approach and management of UK Trusts and Foundations.  

• Regularly research and review opportunities for building potential relationships with prospective Trusts and Foundations and progressing relationships and applications with them through compelling communications. 

• Work with existing networks and contacts to identify and approach potential trusts and foundations and develop relationships with key decision makers there 

• Identify and pursue opportunities to increase income from existing Trust and Foundation relationships 

Communications and Management  

• Work towards an agreed target each year of engaged trusts and related income, both restricted project and unrestricted funds.

• Write compelling cases for support and proposals in order to secure grants 

• Effectively work with internal contacts throughout the global Medair organisation in the preparation of approved proposals, reports and supporting financial and impact information 

• Manage Medair’s engagement plan, initiating and delivering creative touchpoints throughout the year for all of Medair’s trust and foundation partners, as well as building relationships with trustees and representatives through video, online meetings, events and face-2-face opportunities 

Planning, monitoring and pipeline management  

• Maintain a good record of the application pipeline and CRM (salesforce), monitoring application output, income targets, fund allocations and reporting deadlines.

• Ensuring all grants from trusts and foundations are correctly allocated to Medair programmes, with the appropriate grant card on Medair’s project management platform and maintaining good contact with country programmes and finance partners throughout the lifecycle of Medair UK co-funded projects.

Internal Liaison  

• Liaise with Medair’s Heads of Country Programmes, Country Directors and Communications Officers in order to gather information and data for the purposes of applying and reporting to funders 

• Work collaboratively with finance colleagues in the preparation and approval of budgets and reports.

• Foster dynamic and mutually beneficial relationships with other fundraisers within Medair international and the affiliate offices, readily sharing proposals, reports and information.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Partner to provide family leave cover until September 2026.  This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well established team, providing finance and business support to Heads of Department within our Communities and System Partnerships division, and their teams.

You will be monitoring the budget that the teams invest in grants that are awarded to the external partners with whom Macmillan works to support people living with cancer. This investment funds established roles such as Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialists and Macmillan Support Workers, as well as new, innovative ways to reach minority groups in the community or to lead whole system change for cancer care. 

You will be working with the teams to accurately forecast their full year expenditure, maintain the latest view of their spend for the year and review the monthly management accounts to highlight and investigate variances.

You will work closely with a Senior Finance Business Partner and other Finance Partners mainly online and through occasional in person get-togethers. Wider Finance team meetings are held face to face quarterly in London.

About the Role

This is a dual-role position supporting both the Finance and HR functions of the charity. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in finance who is looking to broaden their experience in HR.

What you will do

Finance

· Post transactions into our accounting software, Xero, ensuring that everything is accurately recorded and coded.

· Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, card payments and expenses, and organise a twice- monthly pay run.

· Perform bank reconciliations.

· Manage the accounts mailbox.

· Complete the quarterly gift aid claims.

· Support the Head of Finance and Resources with the completion of the monthly management accounts, financial reporting and budgeting.

· Maintain financial and other administrative records, e.g. fixed asset register.

HR

· Maintain up-to-date employee records and keep our HR Information System (Breathe HR) up to date.

· Support the HR Lead by producing monthly or quarterly reports from Breathe HR.

· Work with the HR Lead to ensure that HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with legislation.

Flexibility

We have an exciting opportunity to join our sector-leading Community Fundraising team as a Community Fundraising Executive.

We’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment – ideally within a community or events context. You’ll bring excellent organisational skills and experience of planning and managing projects with multiple stakeholders, making sure we hit our KPIs and maximise fundraising income. We need an Operations Support Officer to support the team with day-to-day logistics covering general administration, finance and communications. Our hope is that this role will evolve and the successful candidate will continue to progress within this growing and impactful organisation. 

About the role  

• Hours: 15 hours per week spread across the week.

• Duration: One-year contract, renewed subject to funding.

• Location: Home-working. We are a fully remote organisation, and this role can be based anywhere in England as all meetings are held online.

For the last two years, the Coalition has been incubated by the Women’s Budget Group, the UK’s leading feminist economic think tank. The Role:

You will be joining at an important time for our team, covering a crucial role in ensuring accurate income processing, reporting, and financial management across the organisation. As part of the Finance team, you will work closely with colleagues across departments, particularly alongside our fundraising team, to ensure income is correctly coded and reported efficiently. 

With responsibility for month-end and year-end processes, as well as maintaining accurate and timely financial data, you will play a vital role in supporting decision-making across the organisation. Your work will ensure colleagues have the financial insights they need, enabling strategic planning and effective resource management. 

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will liaise with teams across the organisation to provide clear financial updates, answer queries, and ensure income is accurately coded and reported in line with financial procedure. Your clear communication of financial information will support informed decision-making and ensure compliance with procedures. 

To succeed in this role, you will have strong financial processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You should be comfortable working with financial systems and software, with the ability to efficiently manage data, generate reports, and ensure accurate income tracking.

Additionally, the team comes into the office during busier periods, such as financial year-end and audit, to collaborate with auditors (June/July). You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.  

Contractually this role is London-based.

• Oversee general organisational inboxes (e.g., info@), ensuring prompt and appropriate responses or delegations.

• Manage guest lists for all events, including invitations, RSVPs, and attendee communications.

• Own and update action trackers for key events, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.

• Liaise with event suppliers and coordinate logistics to ensure successful event delivery.

• Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events.
