StreetLink London is a bespoke assessment and response telephone service for people who are rough sleeping in London, supported by volunteers. Building on St Mungo’s extensive experience of supporting people sleeping rough through a range of face-to-face services, this innovative service aims to reduce the incidences of subsequent rough sleeping amongst people who have not slept rough before and increase the speed with which those who have a history of rough sleeping can access support and accommodation.

As an Assessment and Response Worker you will:

• Answer phone calls from people experiencing homelessness in London and deliver a high quality of customer service

• Triage online referrals from the website and the app, to connect people who are rough sleeping with local outreach teams as quickly as possible.

• Carry out comprehensive telephone assessments, identifying immediate options for accommodation and support while confidently responding to emergency situations and safeguarding concerns.

• Advocate on behalf of people with relevant statutory and non-statutory services to ensure clients can access the support and accommodation they are entitled to as quickly as possible.

• Train, motivate and support volunteers so they can provide a high quality, responsive service to everyone contacting StreetLink London.

Senior Youth Outreach and Engagement Worker

Streets of Growth is seeking to employ an experienced, motivated, and personable individual to work as part of the frontline team to deliver targeted street work to engage and build relationships of trust with high-risk vulnerable young people (15-25 years), in hotspot areas known for Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), exploitation, serious youth violence and young people that are furthest away from engaging in services.

You should expect to be appointed at the starting point of the salary scale and a higher starting salary band is dependent on you having extensive experience and skills in street work and detached outreach work as well as relevant frontline experience of working with at-risk young people.

These working hours will vary and will be worked according to business needs and notified to you in advance. You will be required to work late afternoons, evenings, and weekends as part of your normal working week

The role:

Taking on a lead role to deliver targeted street work and outreach across the borough of Tower Hamlets. This involves engaging and building relationships of trust with young people at street level and in identified hotspot areas of risk where there is low to high anti-social behaviour, criminality and violence. Working with and engaging young people in strategic interventions across Lifestyle, Enterprise/Employability, Education and Environment that constructively challenge negative patterns of behaviour, create an experience for positive thinking, confidence building, entrepreneurial work skills, and tapping into the young person’s ambition, potential and talent.

You will have senior responsibility with the Frontline Director to plan and execute street work and outreach delivery in identified hotspot areas or risk based on street/community and partner intelligence. As well as holding a small street-engaged caseload of young people and providing a lead responsibility to deliver appropriate targeted intervention work during critical incidents in the community.

Who we are looking for:

Along with a relevant professional qualification at level 3 or degree level, you will have significant frontline experience working with young people, including experience in detached outreach work with young people and experience working with at-risk, vulnerable young people. You will also have good knowledge of safeguarding risk assessment and contextual safeguarding in addition to good practice in engaging young people.

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

Are you passionate about improving support for families affected by substance misuse?

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Specialist Housing Support Worker to join on a Permanent basis in and around Southend. 

A bit about the role:

As an Specialist Housing Support Worker you will deliver high quality and effective support services based at a Complex Needs hostel.  You will provide assertive Outreach support to encourage people who have been traditionally hard to engage with to access treatment, health and accommodation services and to support individuals in gaining information that enables them to make informed choices about their lives and to better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing. The service promotes the independence, wellbeing and inclusion of customers whilst complying with Peabody’s policies and procedures and the principles of good practice.

• You will provide support and advice in relation to housing and homelessness issues, benefit claims and advice, building skills to manage debts and budgeting, accessing community support groups, health and wellbeing services.

The service operates Monday to Sunday and the possible shifts are: 7am - 3pm, 9am - 5pm, 1pm - 9pm and 2pm - 10pm. This role also involves street outreach and will include early shifts starting at 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check, a UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Who are they?  

Our client provides refuge and community based (outreach) support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. They offer their services to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse and need a safe place to stay, and to those out in the community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse. 

The Roles 

They have multiple roles, each varying in responsibility. Please read through the descriptions and when asked on the application page specify which role you are interested in. 

Support Worker’s 

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing practical and emotional support to women and men who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse (both in the refuge and throughout the local community). You’ll work with clients to assess needs and risks and plan a package of support and risk management individual to them.  

Some of the other duties involve: 

• Assessing referrals for both community and refuge based services 

• Supporting the delivery of group work both in refuge and local community 

• Travelling throughout service delivery area to deliver support and attendance at multi-agency meetings and work in partnership with other agencies where required to advocate for their clients and ensure risk is managed and support needs are met (e.g.: social care; police; CAB; housing departments; Job Centre and Benefits agencies) 

• Working with colleagues to provide a clean and welcoming environment for all accessing our services 

• Ensuring records (computer based case management system) are kept up to date and accurate – basic IT skills and knowledge of IT systems are advantageous!

Move On Support Worker’s 

As a domestic abuse move on worker you’ll support individuals and families within our safe accommodation to transition into settled accommodation. You’ll provide a tailored, person-centred support package to help customers achieve their goals and live a life free from abuse.  

Some other duties include: 

• Prepare customers to move on from safe accommodation services and deliver support, both in groups and one-to-one, to enable them to manage their own tenancy. 

• Support customers to set up their own home, assisting them to set up utility accounts and other household obligations. 

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to survivors and their families around their move from safe refuge. 

• Working with survivors on the transition from refuge to their own property safely, engaging in robust safety planning and risk assessing and identification. 

• Provide housing management and welfare benefit support and guidance, as well as signposting and making referrals to appropriate agencies. 

• Identifying and keeping an up-to-date register of local and national grants available to survivors in furnishing/ moving to their new home Establish and maintain quality working relationships to enable multi-agency support. 

• Engage actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions. 

• Foster positive partnerships within the multi-agency arena, working collaboratively across operational areas and the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues and available support options. 

• Working in a client-centred way to identify appropriate local and community groups that can support/ assist the survivor to integrate into their new community safely. 

• Liaise with, signpost or refer to relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, advocating for the best possible support for each survivor. 

• Undertake relevant training, ensuring continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest industry knowledge. 

• Contribute effectively to team collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to self-care within the team and the broader organization. 

Peripatetic Support Worker 

• The role of Peripatetic Support Worker is to provide comprehensive cover for accommodation and community-based services, offering practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and various forms of violence and abuse. Some other duties include: 

• Managing a diverse caseload, responding effectively to escalating and changing risk, while maintaining up-to-date casework records. 

• Facilitating tailored, high-quality case management, including the development of individual safety plans. 

• Engaging actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions. 

• Foster positive partnerships within the multi-agency arena, working collaboratively across operational areas and the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues and available support options. 

• Liaise with, signpost, or refer to relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, advocating for the best possible support for each survivor. 

• Undertake relevant training, ensuring continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest industry knowledge. Contribute effectively to team collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to self-care within the team and the broader organization. 

About You 

They’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a support role supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals and families. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families they work with, with top notch communication skills. It is desirable if you have had experience of working within a Domestic Abuse Service.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but they welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills. 

You will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. There may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays. 

You will be required to have flexibility to travel across Derbyshire therefore driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) is essential 

All successful candidates will be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy exercise prior to the interview.
