About the role

This role is ideal for those keen to further develop their skills and experience in managing and developing partnerships for a charity that has a long history in supporting the 10 million+ people in the UK who live with arthritis. You will be engaging with corporates to identify areas of mutual, long-term interest, working with our high calibre teams to create compelling proposals from a wide variety of cases for support. Your role will be essential to establishing new corporate partners and stewarding towards longer term support for our vision - a future free from arthritis.

The Opportunity

Working alongside the Director of Business Development and Partnerships, you will support and contribute to the charity’s business development strategy with responsibility for managing activity including raising funds for Inspire from a range of sources including corporate partnerships, community fundraising, trusts and foundations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Writing and submitting applications for new funding to statutory bodies, trusts, foundations and corporates.

2. Researching funding opportunities, competitors and market trends.

3. Developing and maintaining an annual calendar of community fundraising activities.

4. Identifying new business development opportunities and developing a pipeline of opportunities and proposals.

5. Management and growth of Inspire's entry to mid-level corporate partnerships.

6. Working with delivery team colleagues to ensure funders’ reports are completed on time and to a high standard.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. The role

Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.

About You

You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. Salford Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Food is donated, sorted and packed at our warehouse, then delivered to our 7 centres across Salford, where teams of volunteers greet people as they pick up their food parcels. People can also access support and advice at our centres to help them maximise their income and ensure they are less likely to need to use the foodbank again.

You’ll be joining a friendly team of 6 part-time staff, 6 Trustees and approx. 80 volunteers, all dedicated to supporting people facing hardship. We are part of The Trussell Trust, a nationwide network of foodbanks.

Rate of pay: £21,000 per annum for 22.5 hours per week (£35,000 FTE pro-rata)

Full-time / part-time: Part time role 22.5 hours per week (flexible, home based within the North West with some contact hours at Salford Foodbank warehouse/office)

•  This is an exciting opportunity to join Salford Foodbank in a new role, accountable to the Foodbank Manager and the board of trustees. As the need for Foodbank services continues to grow Salford Foodbank has developed and expanded. Key Responsibilities:

• Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations funders for Salford Foodbank. You’ll forge relationships with those funders, develop and submit timely and winning funding applications.
• You’ll manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and foundations funders, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can maximising potential for further funding
• You’ll proactively identify, engage and build good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Alongside this you’ll deepen engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with existing corporate donors.
• Working with colleagues across Salford Foodbank, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding and partnership proposals that can successfully engage grant giving trusts, foundations and corporate partners and that can successfully align our vision and work with their needs, motivations, areas of interests and values.
• You’ll research potential funding opportunities from the local council and local authorities.
• You will develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio. You’ll establish a fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships

• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

About the role

The Partnerships Officer role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers.

As part of the New Partnerships team (3 people), you will be helping to identify and secure new relationships with industry, to support delivery of all four areas of our organisational strategy: research and evidence, collective action, activities for schools, and advocacy.
 

This will primarily focus on securing support for our work to engage young people through:

• The Big Bang programme which comprises The Big Bang Fair, the UK’s largest STEM Careers Fair; the Big Bang at School, smaller Fairs within schools; and The Big Bang Competition
• Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme, which are programmes to engage young people within the school environment.

We are excited to be recruiting a School Partnerships Officer to join the School Partnerships Team. You’ll work to deliver the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026, specifically building partnerships with schools to deliver our  school facing interventions.

Your job will be to raise awareness of our programmes and transform expressions of interest into school partnerships. You will be responsible for a geographical area, creating a sales and partnerships plan and proactively reaching out to schools to generate opportunities and convert them into sales and signups. You will use your relationship building, influencing and selling skills to engage schools, trusts and networks to fulfil our charity mission in your area. If you are passionate about communicating with different audiences, quickly building relationships, and meeting ambitious targets that have a huge social impact, this could be the perfect role for you. This role will require you to become an expert on our programmes so that you can confidently discuss their features and benefits with key stakeholders. This isn’t about administering a process; it’s about understanding the needs of the schools and pupils in your area and how our programmes can support their priorities. You will be tenacious and empathetic in equal measure. You will also work to improve the efficiency of our internal systems, so teachers have the best experience communicating with us.

The role will report to the Director of School Sales and Partnerships. It can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff.

 About You

The role will best suit someone who has:

• Experience of partnership building or selling a programme, product or service to schools, trusts, or other education sector stakeholders
• Resilience, tenacity and target driven motivation in a challenging marketplace
• A desire to positively impact social justice via charity sales
• Knowledge of UK education system- school, college and/or university sector
• Experience of using CRM systems, such as Salesforce

Furthermore, you'll work alongside the Principal to spearhead the implementation of innovative initiatives aimed at raising awareness of our mission and outreach efforts.

The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

Essential Experience

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

• Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities and initiatives to grow the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.

• Experience managing a CRM system, sales systems flow and executing sales campaigns/funnels

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and working independently to find solutions to problems

Leaders in Community (LiC) is an award-winning youth-led organisation with over 15 years' experience in delivering youth leadership and youth social action campaigns, supporting local young people challenge and overcome inequalities and barriers to progression.

As the Partnerships and Services Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and as such will be a member of the leadership team, to deliver Leaders in Community’s (LiC) work to empower young people and communities to improve quality of life and build a sustainable future in line with the Charity’s vision and mission. Working alongside the leadership team, you will oversee, and capacity build the services being delivered in our vibrant community centre, which is located in the historic East End of London.
