Job description

Warwickshire Base

Warwickshire Base aims:

  • To protect children and young people from exploitation
  • To empower children and young people who are abused through exploitation, or vulnerable to such abuse, to develop strategies that will enable them to reduce harm, and to achieve their potential.
  • To reduce the risk of vulnerable children and young people being abused through exploitation, through awareness raising activities with children, young people, parents and professionals working with children and young people.
  • To work directly with children and young people who are abused through child exploitation.
  • To support the work with parents/carers whose child/ young person is abused through exploitation or vulnerable to abuse.

 

 You will be required:

  • Deliver best practice in CSE/CCE and keeping children safe.
  • Provide person-centred 1:1 or group work support to children and young people who are victims of exploitation.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Barnardo's '4 A's model' and trauma-informed responses to abuse.
  • Provide guidance to professionals to help and support children and families navigate the complex systems of social care and criminal justice.
  • Work as part of a co-located specialist team, where appropriate supporting Police operations and maintaining robust information sharing pathways to inform multi-agency responses.
  • Attend multi-agency operational meetings -working with local authorities and other statutory partners and contribute towards robust processes and plans to safeguard children.
  • Work as part of the team to enable the voices of children who have experienced CSE/CCE to be heard throughout the sector to encourage and inform best practice.
  • Enable the voices of parents and carers who are affected by exploitation to be heard to inform support services.
  • Providing advocacy, support and strategies to help manage the impact of exploitation on the family unit and to better able support young people.
  • Signpost and assist children and young people to access services that may best meet their needs.
  • Work in partnership with local authority and other statutory and voluntary partners to support children and young people.
  • Ensure cases are reviewed within the 12-week time frame from start of intervention to monitor progress and achievement.
  • Attend Clinical Supervision to support service delivery and personal and professional development.
  • Contribute towards the effective monitoring and evaluation of the service.
  • You may also be required to support with the supervision of staff members.
