We're looking for someone who is interested in our work and committed to the vision, mission, values and approach of Save the Children, and who is happy to follow our policies around safeguarding and our code of conduct.

What we can do for you

In return we'll provide you with training in all aspects of the role, as well as a weekly programme of sessions which we'd design for you. The support we can offer will help to build your wider transferable skills in a range of areas and give you valuable experience of working in the charity sector.

If you are interested in the role please tell us more about yourself.

Essential Technical Competencies:

  • Great customer service and administration skills
  • Good working knowledge of computer software systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Good literacy skills

In your application we'd encourage you to show us how you can work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and what your interest is in the issues that Save the Children focuses on. We also would like to hear If you have any previous volunteering experience of fundraising, campaigning and volunteering, either in a charity setting or in your own community.

If you have a disability, wellbeing or mental health issue, we can help you by making reasonable adjustments to remove or reduce barriers you might be facing in submitting your application.

Remote Working:

The majority of SCUK employees are currently working remotely within the UK in line with UK Government guidance. Commencing July 2021 we will transition to flexible and hybrid ways of working (i.e. a mixture of remote/home and office-based working) as social distancing restrictions ease.

We are happy to discuss flexible working options at interview.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:

Save the Children UK is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity in all aspects of our work both external and internal. We strive to be an inclusive employer and particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups such as returning parents or carers who are re-entering work after a career break, people who are LGBT+, from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, with a disability, impairment, learning difference or long-term condition, with caring responsibilities, from different nations and regions, and from less advantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
