About the role
Secondment/fixed term opportunity for 12 months
We are currently looking for someone to join our Assessment Centre based in Lewisham as a Project Worker.
Working in this roles, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Work with clients to identify their personal aims and ambitions and work towards achieving them.
- Work with clients to assess their support and housing needs and create suitable move on plans.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.
- Work as part of a dedicated team to provide safe, high quality, positive and inclusive service to clients.
- Complete administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety.
- Work on a weekly shift rota including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for unsocial hours worked as part of a day shift after 8pm or before 8am Monday to Friday as well as for all hours during day shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
This role will suit people with:
- An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.
- Experience helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.
- Good interpersonal and listening skills, in order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients and an enthusiasm to learn and work with clients with a holistic and person-centred approach.

The postholder will support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to have their voices heard, engage in the community, and influence the services they use. Key responsibilities include:

Organising Mystery Shops: Plan and run mystery shopping activities to ensure members experience high-quality services from statutory and other organisations, providing timely feedback to help providers improve.

Coordinating Speak Out Meetings: Organise and facilitate monthly Speak Out campaign meetings and support members’ participation in LD Partnership Board meetings.

Supporting Campaign Participation: Assist members to take part in and report on campaigns at Borough, Londonwide, and UK levels, with the aim of improving services for adults with learning disabilities.

Supporting Consultations: Help members engage in consultations at local, regional, and national levels, ensuring their views are captured and communicated effectively.
We are seeking someone who can empower our members to stand up for themselves, share their opinions, and actively participate in community life. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a good understanding of the challenges faced by adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. This role is central to helping members Speak Out in Hounslow and increasing their visibility and influence as valued community members.
