An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Refugee Resettlement Team to help Afghans living in transitional accommodation to source settled accommodation.
The role
The Refugee Housing and Move-On Advisor will be responsible for providing an effective and holistic housing support service to Afghans housed in transitional accommodation. The Officer will provide advice, assistance and support to Afghan households to understand their housing options and to search for suitable and affordable properties in the private rented sector in order to prevent and relieve homelessness.
The service will be provided through a combination of workshops, drop-in clinics and targeted one-to-one and group outreach support sessions.

- Experience in delivering a high-quality service supporting positive outcomes for relocated individuals or families who speak English as a second language
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use appropriate discretion to address complex situations
- Ability to manage a demanding case load and to plan and prioritise effectively in order to achieve targets and meet deadlines
- Experience of homelessness prevention and housing advice
- Current knowledge of Local Authority homeless and housing register application processes and welfare benefits and entitlements
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with private landlords and external organisations
- Good knowledge of the statutory framework in relation to safeguarding and an ability to apply this in practice and in day to day case work

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

About the role
We're seeking a Deputy Service Manager to join our Independent Approved Premises (IAP), commissioned by Criminal Justice Service (IAP) which works with high risk offenders who have left prison. Penrose Drive is a community setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community if they do not have restrictions on their license. Security is therefore flexible in both design and operation. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners.
You will lead the team by providing line management and leadership support to enable and empower the team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements, and will encourage the creation of a psychologically informed environment, which provides person centred support. The role includes:
- Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
- Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
- Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Housing Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire.
You will be forming a team that makes up the Warwickshire Dispersed Safe Accommodation service. This service will provide emergency safe accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
Housing Support Workers will work closely with the Floating Support Workers and Child Support Workers (who provide the personal support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children) to ensure that the emergency accommodation and support meets the whole range of survivors’ needs.
The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance of emergency safe accommodation units in multiple 1–3-bedroom properties across Warwickshire. This will include the practical set up and maintenance of home furnishings and utilities in each property and the management of the cleaning and replacements required between each use of the accommodation unit.
The post holder will provide support to survivors fleeing domestic abuse around accessing housing benefit for the dispersed accommodation and support survivors with exploring and accessing move on accommodation.
The Housing Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for ensuring that the properties will maintain Refuge’s accommodation standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and requirements
Housing Support Workers will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the properties are managed to a high standard and ensure a welcoming approach to all survivors and their children.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

STRATEGY
- To work closely alongside the Bishop and Archdeacon in developing, delivering and reviewing a measurable and impactful Edmonton Area Plan within the 2030 Vision for London.
- To actively encourage and enable the projects and plans for mission across the Area working closely with the Bishop, Archdeacon and the Area Deans for each of the four Deaneries and other Area and Diocesan staff.
- To develop a strategy in the Area in line with the overarching diocesan Mission Framework, which relates to the other four Area strategies and which leads directly towards plans for growth
- Some of these mission plans will relate to work on funding applications and others which relate to the increased provision and maintenance of services by personal interventions and strategic support.
- Lead on the stakeholder engagement and change management planning for the larger sized mission programmes within the Area
- To work with the Diocese of London 2030 Vision program office to gather appropriate metrics in order to provide a framework for good strategic decision making.

TEAM

RESOURCING
- To work alongside churches in vacancy to remain focused on mission and to plan for appropriate future leadership, supporting the Bishop and Archdeacon in running vacancy and appointments processes.
- To help parishes access the support available from the Diocese of London’s Ambition and Priority teams, noting in particular support for new incumbents
- Ambition teams: Confident Disciples, Compassionate Communities, Creative Growth (CCX) – and how they link with maintaining church services.

About the role
