Summary of the role:
The Communications Officer plays a key role in executing the organisation’s communication strategy. This role involves creating and managing content for various platforms, supporting media relations, and contributing to the overall communication campaigns and public relations efforts. The Communications Officer will work closely with other team members and the marketing team to ensure that all communication activities are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals and effectively engage target audiences.

About us
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas. This role will require you to lead on organic social media as part of the DEC Communications team, working closely with the Digital and Innovation team in Fundraising, collaborate with social leads across our 15 member charities and public figures through our talent agency. During appeal launch periods it will also involve managing a small social media team of volunteers.
All roles at the DEC are based in our London office. We operate a hybrid working model, with some non-negotiable office attendance. Please note, during the two-week appeal launch period, staff are required to work extremely long hours, in a faced-paced busy environment, with mandatory office attendance.

Purpose of Role
The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the success of Comic Relief’s programme of strategic projects. The programme consists of key strategic projects that are designed to best support Comic Relief to meet its strategic priorities and mission / vision.
As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the overarching planning, management and coordination of select Strategic Projects. Digital Fundraising Growth Manager

Purpose of Role
The Digital Fundraising Growth Manager will manage our digital paid media planning and delivery, driving audience engagement at all stages of the marketing funnel, specifically with the aim of delivering growth in our supporter base and income.
The post holder will directly oversee all digital paid media activity in line with agreed campaign and year round engagement and fundraising strategies and plans, including but not limited to social media advertising, search marketing, programmatic display, and emerging channels ensuring plans are fully integrated with other engagement and fundraising activity (including owned and earned media across all channels and wider organisational efforts).
Working closely with internal teams and external agencies, you will drive digital fundraising performance across a range of campaign and product offers, optimising media spend; creative and supporter journeys using data-driven insights informed by a rapid and robust test and learn methodology to ensure our investments are optimised for performance.
As the Comic Relief’s paid media champion, the post holder will also play a key role in ensuring alignment of media campaigns with integrated web and CRM journeys to deliver consistent and personalised supporter experiences. About Slough Foodbank
Slough Foodbank is a charity whose object is the prevention or relief of poverty in the United Kingdom, mainly in Slough and the surrounding area, in particular but not exclusively by providing emergency food supplies to individuals in need, as motivated by the principles of the Christian Faith.
Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. In 2024, we gave out 12,147 food parcels. Sadly, this is almost double the number in given out in 2020. In addition to providing food and basic toiletries, we try to understand the situation of the people referred to us so that we can signpost them to other organisations where appropriate, in order to give a helping hand through a crisis.

You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues. You will enjoy working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as externally.
The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the development and implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits, and the white paper on employment.

How this post supports NZF’s vision and mission
The post-holder will be responsible for offering support to the Director of Finance and Governance to ensure effective outputs within a high-performance environment, adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance.
The main responsibilities of this role include tracking, collating, and recording essential performance information; providing administrative support for the Board meetings, sub-committees, working groups, senior leadership meetings and team meetings; maintaining governance procedures and ensuring their adherence; and managing and maintaining risk registers.
To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for the non-profit sector. You will be highly organised and diligent, showing great attention to detail. You will be proactive and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. You will have excellent people management skills with the ability to build effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ranging from senior managers, directors and external stakeholders. You will be highly motivated, versatile, empathetic, and have a good eye for detail. You will ensure that policies and processes are being implemented effectively across the organisation.
Typical Accountabilities of position:
Board and Senior Leadership meetings:
· Maintain a forward-looking calendar of Board, Board Committees and Senior Leadership Team meetings and agenda items and set up the meetings.
· Support line manager to prepare agendas, co-ordinate timely pre-read papers, write minutes, and track agreed actions.
· Maintain consistent Terms of Reference across all Board Committees.
· Provide administrative support to the line manager and Board with recruitment, induction, performance management and succession planning for the Board and Board committees.
· Manage and maintain Trustee documentation to ensure that information is transparent, up to date and readily accessible.
· Provide administrative support to the line manager and Board Chair with a periodic review of the Board, its value and behaviours, practice and operations.
Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with requirements and guidelines of Charity Commission, Companies House and other regulatory bodies.
· Coordinate the narrative, design and approval of the Annual Report and Accounts.
· Ensure appropriate governance information reflected in external communications.
· Ensure full and accurate reporting provided to grant funders.
Governance and risk management
· Support governance within the functions, and ensuring appropriate guidance and advice provided from those functions to the wider team.
· Manage and maintain risk registers across the departments.
Approach
· Comply with relevant legislation and regulation ensuring that good practice is observed.
· Understand and support the vision, mission and aims of NZF.
· Adhere to and champion NZF’s policy and practices on safeguarding.
· Ensure the approach is coordinated with key stakeholders across the organisation.
· Undertake any other duties requested by the line manager commensurate with the role.
