As the Community Shop and Online Manager for our flagship store in Mere Green you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted. 

You’ll have great commercial skills, an understanding of how online selling works and why customer service is key and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you’ll have previous retail management experience, be able to demonstrate strong leadership and have the ability to work with and motivate any team.

Reporting into a Regional Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that your store and the online store runs efficiently and delivers a positive financial contribution to the Hospice. You’ll also have the support of a Retail Regional Supervisor, available to provide encouragement, training and development of best practise.

As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the shop manager and assistant shop manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager, it is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Shop Manager in Surbiton's brand new Scope shop (Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4NS). The shop will be opening mid 2024.  You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. About You
You will be someone with exceptional people skills, a leader who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience leading and inspiring teams
• A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with some experience within Retail or a clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends
• A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.
• Previous charity retail experience is not essential. If you have transferable leadership skills or experience managing volunteers in other settings and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

Age UK are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner for our impactful Retail division.

Working as part of the FP&A - Retail team, this role is focussed around producing and delivering timely and accurate financial budgeting and analysis for the retail division which consists of ~270 charity shops across England and Wales with an annual turnover of ~£40m.

The purpose of the Retail Finance Business Partner role is to support the organisation in the delivery of strong performance and achievement of its financial objectives, through provision of insightful analysis and reporting, business intelligence and assessment of financial performance and risk.

This fantastic opportunity offers hybrid and flexible working between home and a central London co-working hub.

Must haves:

* Professional accounting qualification - CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience in a Business Partnering role with responsibility for the production of management information.
* Evidence of building successful working relationships externally and internally and at all levels of an organisation.
* Experience of working with staff at all levels of an organisation and with both financial and non-financial staff.
* Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Experience of working in a dynamic and commercially oriented organisation. Charity sector experience is not essential.
* Sound commercial judgement and confidence in challenging assumptions.
* Ability to assimilate and analyse financial data, interpreting it to support business decision making.
* Able to establish priorities and consistently deliver accurate, timely and relevant data to tight deadlines.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to explain complex information to non-finance staff in a relevant and meaningful way.

Great to haves:
* Experience working with accounting packages. Saturn, Power BI, Jet and Navision an advantage but not essential.
* Experience of working in retail finance

Your role

As Shop Manager at Scope's Scarborough shop,  you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be  generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.
