Age UK is offering a fantastic 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover) for a Senior External Affairs Manager.
In this impactful role you will develop and lead the delivery of Age UK's integrated public affairs and campaigning work, with the overarching aim of creating sustainable change for older people in line with our strategy and goals. You will develop and implement effective public affairs and campaigning approaches that really hit home, and produce results.
To achieve this, you will work collaboratively with the rest of our high performing External Affairs team, other Age UK colleagues, our network of brilliant local Age UKs, and other charities and organisations that share our campaigning aims.
Leading Age UK's public affairs function, you will oversee our influencing work in Westminster and maintain our high profile. You will also have access to one of Age UK's best campaigning assets: several hundred thousand campaigners, many of them older people, who work with us to influence change.
We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include regular days working from our London office. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the post-holder and are not covered by the charity.

Must haves:
* Significant experience of strategic public affairs and/or campaigning work designed to achieve change.
* Strong track record of developing and implementing successful campaigns and project managing influencing activities and leading project teams.
* Excellent all round communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
* Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders including Parliamentarians, and Ministers.
* Significant experience of working collaboratively, internally and externally.
* Understanding of online and offline campaigning techniques, and knowledge of using campaign planning tools to ensure the success of campaigns.
* Experience of promoting public involvement in campaigns.
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of local and national government structures, the UK Parliament and our political, policy and campaigning context, and experience of influencing them.
* Fast, strategic and analytical thinking skills and experience of demonstrating good judgement, including strong political judgement.
* Strong decision-making skills and confidence in making strategic and operational decisions.
* Ability to project manage, including personal time management, planning, implementing, devising and prioritising multiple projects to meet agreed deadlines and targets, overseeing work across teams and monitoring and evaluating quality and impact.

Do you have the passion and skills to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing nature and climate? Many of these challenges are complex and long-term, and our systems change campaigning function works with colleagues across the RSPB to tackle them head on. We are recruiting for a Senior Campaigner in our Campaigning & Mobilisation department.
What’s the role about
Our systems change campaigns work tackles big, complex problems facing nature and climate over the long-term. The current focus is to drive systemic change that creates the right conditions for nature-friendly farming to prosper. You will focus campaigning pressure wherever it can be exerted to best effect – and not always at governments, but also at other key actors. Through the campaigns you develop you will help us realise large-scale positive change for nature and climate that builds and builds.
The campaigns you help develop will have multiple elements, offering our phenomenal supporters a range of ways to get involved. Their supporter journey will deepen engagement and empowerment of individual campaigners over time, equipping them to tackle these complex problems in their own way.
As part of a dispersed team, you could be based anywhere in the UK, so long as you’re able to travel to central locations to get together with colleagues, and on occasion to meet with colleagues in Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
In this role, key activities will include:
- Co-creating and delivering systems change campaigns on behalf of the RSPB, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.
- Responsibility to roll out systems change campaigns in two of the four countries of the UK (with another Senior Campaigner covering the other two).
- Recruiting and line managing professional volunteers to provide expert guidance or deliver campaigns.
- Building key internal and external relationships to support development and delivery of systems change campaigns.
- Maintaining technical expertise and analysis of external context relating to the current campaign and challenges facing nature.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, Charity Commission, and internal policy on campaigning standards.
What we need from you:

General information
- From time-to-time, and particularly at the start of a new campaign, you will be expected to come together with others working on that campaign, and co-locate face-to-face for a few days. There will be some meetings together, and also the opportunity to work side by side on the project for a short period. The RSPB will subsidise any required accommodation or travel as per our Expenses Policy. This will help build relationships, break down silos, and make working together online easier and more enjoyable. This co-location will usually be at an RSPB office and will be agreed in advance. Outside of these co-location moments you will be based in your contracted place of work as usual. Reasonable adjustment to the above can be discussed with the Line Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.

SteelWatch is an international climate campaign organisation established in June 2023, driving corporate accountability and action in the steel sector. Our vision is a steel industry that underpins a thriving zero emissions economy. Our priority is that the steel industry gets on track for a 1.5 degree trajectory this side of 2030.
We run corporate campaigns and challenge the global industry to replace complacency with urgent action. We currently focus on OECD countries, and specifically in Europe and Japan at present, with team members in UK/Europe and Asia Pacific timezones. As a young organisation, we are evolving, testing, and learning, and seek team members who will enjoy breaking new ground with us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a dynamic Corporate Campaigner who will lead, develop and implement creative campaigns and strategies to drive change in steel companies. This will require using multiple pressure points across the steel value chain; shifting narratives, engaging with national campaigns, exposing inadequacy of climate plans, harnessing investor pressure, driving demands for green steel and much more. The Corporate Campaigner will work closely with our CSO allies, notably from European Fossil Free Steel Network (EFFSN) and Fair Steel Coalition, to contribute to the impacts of the wider ecosystem and to sharply define the role of SteelWatch and its campaigns. This is likely to involve collaborations beyond Europe, in North America, Africa, Asia or Latin America. As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Europe.
For the steel industry to move toward decarbonisation, technological advancement is not the only solution. We need to fundamentally drive systemic changes to the long-held methods of steel production, the iron and steel value chain and the industrial structure, and going further, the relationship between the steel industry and the future of the decarbonised society. We are looking for someone who is able to use their creativity to engage not only in negotiations to achieve GHG emissions reductions, but also in critical thinking to provoke dialogues about what our climate needs from the industry’s corporate actors and other stakeholders today, to ensure a better future for people and the planet.

Develop campaign strategies and plans in collaboration with your analytical and communication colleagues and with partner organisations, where relevant;

Track and monitor company and investment calendar, announcements and news to identify opportunities for driving change;

Plan and deliver campaign outputs; public communications, on-ground activities, media appearance, corporate engagement and other tactics, responding to emerging campaign opportunities;

Engage with relevant stakeholders, corporate actors, financial institutions, government officials, industry experts, in pursuit of the campaign strategy;

Undertake necessary research and report writing for the campaigns, working closely with the Steelwatch Steel Analyst;

APPLICATION CRITERIA
We seek applicants with several years experience in corporate campaigning and a track record of managing the A-Z of campaign delivery. We will also consider, for entry at a more junior level, applicants with less experience but who have the campaigning mentality and strong delivery skills, with potential to grow in the role. Candidates with more substantial experience could be considered for a more senior role. For candidates of any level of experience, an appetite to learn and grow in the role is expected, as this is pioneering work.

About the role
As our Senior Data Executive, you’ll be ensuring effective data management for the BHF by extracting data for marketing communications, supporting data imports, and collaborating with marketing and technical teams to optimise data quality. You’ll be responsible for marketing data extracts, maintaining data quality through CRM updates using an ETL tool, and championing data best practices while identifying areas for improvement.
Collaborating with fundraising and marketing teams to establish selection criteria for data extracts, you will ensure accurate and timely data exchange with suppliers, manage CRM database data, and resolve data quality issues. All this will ensure you gain a full understanding of customer requirements to achieve their desired outcomes and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
You’ll play a pivotal role in our team by supporting and training members to maintain and enhance the CRM database. You’ll track team workload, develop efficient data management processes, oversee imports managed by Data Assistants, and gather feedback to continuously improve our processes.

About you
With proven previous experience running complex and large database selections in a busy direct marketing environment, you'll have experience ensuring complex and high-volume data quality and accuracy. You’ll have strong experience with Blackbaud CRM or similar systems, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and a proven track record in importing and exporting data with external agencies. Your attention to detail and strong numeracy skills will enable you to deliver high-quality data management.
Ideally, you will have a background in fundraising and have gained experience in providing data and interpretation to direct marketing teams for major campaigns, as well as writing SQL queries. You’ll also have a good standard of communication in both written and verbal forms and have experience working with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver workloads to strict deadlines. You will be experienced managing multiple tasks and your own time, prioritising workload appropriately while remaining supportive to your team.

The Digital Campaigns Manager will play a crucial role in driving supporter engagement, fundraising, and brand awareness through the planning, execution, and analysis of effective digital marketing campaigns. They will work closely with the Senior Digital Channel Manager to ensure campaigns are aligned with ARUK's overarching goals and deliver optimal results.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and analyse in-house digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including paid online advertising, social media marketing, and other relevant digital platforms.

We are looking for a new member to join our legacy and in-memory team, within its Individual Giving department. This role will help to manage and test legacy marketing campaigns with the aim to grow the size of the charity’s legacy Enquirer and Considerer base using various channels such as social media, direct mail and telemarketing.
