What the job involves
We have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer to join our Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team. You’ll work closely with the Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Manager to successfully plan and deliver major strategic campaigns and key brand moments, taking the lead on day-to-day project management to keep everything coordinated and running smoothly.
As a Senior Strategic Communications (Campaigns) Officer you’ll take responsibility for developing content for allocated big-ticket campaigns and brand moments, ensuring all content is consistent with our brand and tone of voice. The campaigns you’ll be working on will revolve around our brand, high value fundraising and priority campaigns seeking to drive change. You’ll develop content marketing strategies that will tell stories to reach our key audiences. Our current campaigns focus on reaching more men so they can make informed choices about their prostate cancer risk, while also working to reduce health inequalities and better engage Black men, a community disproportionately affected by prostate cancer.
Collaboration is a big part of this role. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help shape high-impact content marketing strategies and integrate key messages across the organisation. You’ll also support the development of creative content for key partnerships and campaigns, ensuring content aligns with our brand and campaign objectives.

We’re looking for someone who’s experienced in supporting strategy and delivering major campaigns and brand moments that make a real difference and help us connect with new audiences. You’ll have a solid understanding of current communications practices and a keen eye on emerging trends, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
With excellent project management skills, you’ll be comfortable in using collaboration tools like Trello to keep everything on track. You’ll be highly organised, proactive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
You’ll be skilled in developing and delivering creative, engaging content for different platforms, making sure it’s always aligned with our brand and tone of voice. You’ll also have strong analytical skills, able to quickly digest complex information and turn it into clear, actionable insights.
Above all, you’ll be an excellent communicator — someone who can translate technical detail into plain, accessible language, build trusted relationships at senior levels, and work effectively with a range of external partners and stakeholders.

About the position
Responsible for the strategic leadership and effective delivery of Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns, this role is an exciting opportunity to create change at scale. The purpose of the position is to deliver Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns including, at present, ensuring the successful passage into law of a Bill to ban imports of hunting trophies into the UK. The role will be responsible for identifying opportunities to progress wildlife protection in the UK, including for Humane World's global priority initiatives to promote humane human-wildlife co-existence, and to effectively tackle wildlife trade including for 'exotic' companion animals.

- Commissioning and analysing research to expand and enhance Humane World UK’s understanding of welfare problems for wild animals, in order to develop informed solutions and into advocacy materials
- Work closely with Humane World UK’s public affairs staff to deliver compelling and informed advocacy to UK political stakeholders to secure improved wildlife protection, through both passage and enforcement of UK laws;
- Work in collaboration with Humane World UK’s Communications staff to educate external audiences in wildlife welfare problems, and build strong and focused public support for better treatment and legal protections for wildlife, including through working with media, celebrities and influencers as amplifiers;
- Represent Humane World UK at stakeholder groups relating to wildlife welfare and conservation;
- Ensure that fundraising colleagues are equipped with the necessary information on strategies and impact to make and report against successful funding proposals for Humane World UK’s wildlife campaigns;
- Regular, proactive internal communication and alignment with Humane World’s global goals for wild animals, and reporting on progress towards agreed targets.

In this role, you will support the Direct Marketing Manager - Loyalty to manage the donor loyalty programme. You will develop and manage existing and new supporter communication programmes growing loyalty in our supporter base. The aim is to maximise the value of our long-term relationships with individual supporters.
This role is a varied one, with superb development opportunities. As part of a small team, you will be responsible for the print-based communications we send to our supporters but also email production with the view of developing the loyalty digital journey. Furthermore, you'll contribute to the development of our legacy and in memory activities, and high value offer. You'll also have the opportunity to support the supporter acquisition team on projects to gain new donors. Consequently, the role gives you the opportunity to grow your experience in supporter acquisition, as well as loyalty. And you will play a key part in delivering emergency appeals - when the work that you do will have a direct impact in saving older people's lives during a crisis.
As we continue to develop our Individual Giving strategy, you will have the chance to be involved in new initiatives and communications.
We offer hybrid working, with a minimum of one day a week in our London office and the last Thursday of the month in the London office. Please note that our core working days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Travel costs to the London office are not covered by the charity.

As a Senior Campaigner you’ll play a leading role in developing and delivering campaign activities, accelerating international action to increase recognition and protection of land and environmental defenders, while standing up to climate wrecking industries.
You will be a central link in the team to influence our campaign by leading on key investigations to advance policy and advocacy changes as well as promoting our campaign.

The Senior Policy Campaigns Manager enables Marie Curie to deliver its organisational mission of closing the end-of-life gap so that we can realise our vision of a better end of life for all. It does this by helping us achieve our outcome of shaping the end-of-life care system through public campaigning on key policy areas to influence government and key opinion leaders.
You will directly support our goals of growing our influence scale and impact, improving palliative and end of life care by campaigning for policy and systems change.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading on the development and implementation of an overarching public campaigning strategy and activities for Marie Curie.
- Advise and collaborate with the Research, Policy and Public Affairs directorate to initiate policy campaigns that resonate with existing and new supporters, the media, and ultimately influence policy decision-makers and affect change.
- Oversee communications planning, content and channels alignment.
- Lead teams to develop and implement effective, integrated multi-channel marketing plans that build impact and influence the agendas across key opinion leader audiences.

- Significant experience of strategic policy and public affairs campaigning at a similar scale.

Job Summary
The Advocacy and Campaigns Manager will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering Put Children First, the advocacy and campaigning initiative of Alder Hey Children’s Charity. The post holder will be responsible for influencing decision-makers, engaging stakeholders, and leading impactful campaigns to ensure children’s health and wellbeing are prioritised in public policy.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong public affairs expertise, policy understanding, and excellent communication skills. The campaign is child led and will involve working with children to raise their voice. The post holder will also work with politicians, policymakers, clinicians and internal stakeholders, partner organisations, and the public to advocate for change, ensuring that Alder Hey Children’s Charity is a leading voice in children’s health policy and advocacy. This role is one of the first with a charity aligned to an NHS Trust and will appeal to someone with a strong desire to pioneer advocacy and campaigning in a unique setting.
Main Duties/Tasks
Advocacy & Campaigning Strategy

Work with the Head of Marketing & Communications to develop and deliver a proactive and inclusive advocacy and campaigning strategy to drive meaningful policy change that benefits children’s health.

Identify and respond to policy developments, advising on how Alder Hey Children’s Charity can influence key decision-makers and stakeholders.

Lead campaign planning and execution, ensuring activities engage supporters, stakeholders, and policymakers effectively.

Develop and manage partnerships with other charities, organisations, and networks to amplify the impact of the charity’s advocacy work.

Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with the fundraising teams, grants team, marketing and communications and the Trust’s Communications team to ensure advocacy work aligns with broader charity and Trust objectives.

Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on policy and public affairs matters, in consultation with the Head of Marketing and Communications where required.

Support the development of staff and volunteers as advocates for the charity’s policy positions.

About the role
As Senior Media and Campaigns Officer, you will play a key role in delivering Wellbeing of Women’s media relations and campaigns strategy. You will be responsible for generating regular, high-quality national and regional media coverage and working on the implementation of impactful campaigns that raise awareness, influence policy, and support the charity’s wider objectives. You will think creatively about how to promote our work through both media engagement and wider campaigning activity across digital and offline channels.
We are looking for a creative and strategic communicator with excellent writing skills, a strong news sense, and the ability to develop engaging content and messages tailored to different audiences. Experience of working with the media is essential, writing reactive lines and pitching to national media, as is a good understanding of campaigning principles and how to mobilise public or stakeholder support. - Work with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to develop and deliver a proactive PR strategy to increase the reach of the charity.

- Coordinate accurate and timely responses to inbound media enquiries, liaising with journalists and spokespeople.

This new role will be responsible for helping to develop and manage the legacy and in memory programmes. As the Senior Legacy and In Memory Executive you will have the opportunity to develop and grow the Legacy and In Memory, helping shape our strategy to recruit, engage and steward legacy pledgers and in memory donors. You will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of In Memory and legacy campaigns across multiple communication channels including email, social and print. You will also be responsible for stewarding existing in memory supporters and legacy pledgers, developing and delivering engaging communications in order to maximise lifetime value.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Legacy and In Memory Manager with developing the strategy and budget.
· Responsible for managing the monthly budget report for expenditure.
· Responsible for developing campaigns to market the legacy and in memory areas to our supporters.
· To work with the Legacies and In Memory Manager to develop a supporter acquisition, stewardship and retention plan.
· Responsible for tracking and monitoring the agreed KPI’s reporting monthly on activity and targets. To use this analysis to review the portfolio of activity quarterly with the Legacy and In Memory Manager and make recommendations about future marketing activity.
· To work collaboratively with other teams in the Fundraising, Comms and Policy directorate to cross sell legacies and support all teams with their in-memory fundraisers.
· To work closely with the Supporter Care team to ensure all donors and next of kin are thanked appropriately and that a relevant stewardship programme is put into place.
· Work collaboratively with the Digital Engagement and Mobilisation team to ensure that all agreed marketing activity is delivered as agreed on time and budget. To ensure that all legacy and in memory enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
· Work with the CRM and Supporter Care team to ensure that all Legacy and In Memory data on The Raiser’s Edge database is accurate, valuable and kept up to date.
Person Specification:
· Experience of managing successful programmes and campaigns to recruit and retain legacy and in memory supporters through a variety of channels
