This role will design and secure a portfolio of national and local strategically aligned, market-relevant and impactful programmes which use arts, culture and creativity to achieve a positive impact on our target audiences. These programmes will empower the health, wellbeing, learning, social mobility and social connection of people supported by Age Exchange and Community Integrated Care. The role holder will play an essential role in leading the growth, reach and sustainability of Age Exchange by generating funding and commercial revenue and new partnerships.

• Win funding & partnerships that fuel our programmes and core costs—trusts & foundations, corporates/sponsorships, individual giving, and earned income.
• Build and manage a high-quality pipeline—prospect, cultivate, write compelling bids/proposals, negotiate, and steward partners.

Research Grant Manager - FTC

ARUK is migrating to a new grants management system, Flexigrant, creating an exciting opportunity for a Research Grants Manager to act as the product owner for ARUK’s grant-making processes. This role will sit at the intersection of research funding, systems delivery, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for configuring, embedding, and continuously improving Flexigrant to support ARUK’s grant-making activities across the full funding lifecycle — from scheme design and application, through peer review and funding decisions, to post-award management and reporting.

Working closely with colleagues across the Research Funding team, the wider Research Directorate, and external partners and providers, you will ensure that ARUK’s grant processes are robust, user-centred, efficient, and scalable. This role is vital to enabling ARUK to fund the best dementia research and to support and engage our funded research community.

This role sits in the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team funding world-class research to transform the lives of people affected by dementia.  We’re looking for someone with research management experience, a good eye for detail and enthusiasm for improving systems and processes in a complex research funding environment. 

This is a 12-month FTC

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Product & System Management

· Act as a subject matter expert and system owner for ARUK’s grants management system, Flexigrant.

· Lead the ongoing configuration, implementation and optimisation of Flexigrant, working closely with team across the Research Directorate to embed their funding schemes and workflows.

· Support the Senior Research Funding Manager to work in partnership with the external system provider to support system development, issue resolution and updates.

· Configure and open grant schemes, build application and review workflows, manage access and permissions, and create data exports to meet internal and external needs.

· Develop and maintain system guidance, documentation, and training materials for internal users and external stakeholders.

· Champion adoption of Flexigrant across the organisation, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

Grant Programme Delivery

· Support the operational delivery of ARUK’s grant-making activities, from scheme launch through peer review to funding decisions.

· Work with the Research Grants Manager (pre-award) to support the development and delivery of expert review processes, ensuring fair, transparent assessment in line with AMRC principles.

· Work with the Research Grants Manager (post-award) with award and post-award management, including monitoring research expenditure, milestone reporting, and post-award change requests.

· Maintain accurate, high-quality grant data and records, ensuring internal and external stakeholders have access to reliable and timely information.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

· Act as a primary contact for internal teams requiring grant information or data from Flexigrant.

· Support applicants, reviewers, and grant holders by providing clear guidance throughout the application, assessment, and award lifecycle.

· Work collaboratively with internal teams such as Science Communications and Philanthropy to support effective communication of funding opportunities and grant outcomes.

· Represent the charity at relevant external meetings and events.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Degree in a life science, health-related, or relevant discipline.

· Experience of grant management or research funding administration within a charity, research organisation, university or funder, with experience supporting the full research funding lifecycle, including application, peer review, funding decisions, and post-award management.

· Practical experience of working with a grants management system or similar complex business system (e.g. Flexigrant, Grant Tracker, Salesforce, Worktribe, InfoEd, etc.) with experience of configuring or supporting funding schemes, workflows, or processes within a system or platform.

· Experience working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, reviewers, and colleagues across multiple teams.

· Understanding of fair and transparent peer review processes and commitment to best practice (e.g. AMRC principles).

· Strong attention to detail, with experience managing accurate data, records, and reporting.

· Ability to take ownership of a system or process and drive continuous improvement. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear guidance and explain complex processes to different audiences.

· Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

· A proactive attitude and someone who can work independently.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a pragmatic and user-focused approach.

We have an exciting position in our team for an experienced and ambitious trusts fundraiser. Working as part of the Partnership Team and line managing one Grants & Programmes Manager, the Senior Grants & Programmes Manager will secure critical income from new and existing trust and foundation donors through compelling pitches and excellent stewardship.

The position will build on existing multiyear relationships with donors giving at the six-figure level per year, aiming to grow their contributions, as well as making approaches to new prospects, working closely with the Director of Partnerships. The role is also the key liaison between OSUK and teams at Operation Smile Inc and in programme countries around the world, leading on donor reporting and sourcing programmatic information for new funding opportunities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Trust and Foundation Funding Development

• Ensure achievement of annual income target for trusts and foundations
• Take primary responsibility for managing the current pool of trust/foundation donors, to ensure their growth and longevity – strategic input into the growth of each relationship will be essential
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new funding prospects, creating propositions/proposals and making approaches, working with the Director of Partnerships, with a focus on the highest value prospects (those worth six-figures per year plus)
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to donors and internal stakeholders
• Represent Operation Smile UK in global funding discussions, applying any global strategies to develop successful fundraising plans for the UK
• Lead on development and management of any trust/foundation cultivation events

Programmes Liaison

• Lead on interaction with global teams at Operation Smile Inc (US) and programme country teams around the world, regarding OSUK’s funding of programmes
• Identify funding opportunities for new prospects and existing donors, sourcing relevant programmatic and financial information
• Support the allocation of OSUK’s funds to a portfolio of programmes that best meet our donors’ interests, and work with colleagues internationally to reallocate funds when needed
• Monitor projects’ progress against KPIs and ensure donor reporting (programmatic and financial) is complete and timely, and meets donors’ needs and expectations

Additional Responsibilities

• Line-manage one Grants & Programmes Manager, supporting them to manage their own portfolio of new prospects and existing relationships, including small trusts mailings
• Create and maintain annual trusts and foundations income and expenditure budgets and business plans, including current donors and forecasting new business income

• 4 years’ experience in a trusts/foundations/institutional funding role

The primary aim of this role is to help Money and Mental Health secure the income it needs to deliver its mission and further strengthen the charity’s financial footing for the future. This is a crucial role in our new Fundraising team, and the successful candidate will work across all elements of our income generation activities - from grant-writing to donor stewardship and pipeline development.

The role will have a particular focus on securing funding from Trusts and Foundations, but there will also be ample opportunities to engage corporate partners and other prospective funders. 

The successful candidates will have the chance to bring their ideas in terms of identifying new routes to funding for the organisation and shaping our income generation activities.

Key responsibilities:

Funding bids and proposals

• Draft and develop effective and impactful fundraising bids and proposals to secure both grant income and corporate sponsorship

• Project manage the process of developing funding proposals - including completing funding checklists, coordinating the team on relevant deadlines and booking in time for sign off from relevant colleagues.

Relationship management

• Play a key role in donor stewardship alongside Head of Fundraising and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including grant makers, corporates and individual donors

• Support SLT in identifying - and building relationships with - relevant individuals within prospective funder organisations - including coordinating meetings.

• Ensure we stay on top of our grant requirements, including drafting grant reports and coordinating other team members to fulfil those requirements

• Work with External Affairs team to create excellent supporter journeys for online donors.

Pipeline development

• Work with Head of Fundraising to undertake research into new fundraising prospects and to develop a strong funder pipeline

• Stay on top of new developments in the charity sector and wider funding landscape

• Make recommendations to Head of Fundraising on new funders we should engage with or seek to build relationships with

• Maintain accurate pipeline data and prospect records, ensuring regular updates

Planning, strategy and vision

• Contribute to the delivery of our income generation strategy - including meeting relevant targets set out in the strategy. 

• Support the team with advance planning on funding bids, project managing complex cross-team processes, matrix-managing small project teams and ensuring all key milestones are met 

• Proactively suggest ideas for ways of improving our processes and ways of working to better support our income generation targets or better deliver our work.

About you:

Essential qualities 

• A proven track record of securing five-figure grants or income from trusts, foundations and/or corporate partners.

• Strong copywriting skills, and the ability to articulate the impact from donations

• Excellent project management skills

About The Role

As a new role within our organisation’s structure, the Head of Programmes position will be varied and evolving, with a strong focus on the line management and support of our front-line team, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across programmes. This role will line manage our Senior Employability & Engagement Officer and Programme Support Officer, and eventually lead on the recruitment and management of a dedicated Resettlement Officer role as funding allows. About the role:

The Senior Director of Finance is the most senior finance professional at Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH). The role provides strategic financial leadership and ensures the organisation meets its fiduciary, regulatory, and governance obligations as a UK charity, while enabling responsible growth and global scale.

Acting as the organisation’s senior finance lead, the postholder will support the CEO and Board of Trustees to meet their statutory duties under UK charity law, including duties of care, prudence, and accountability, while building robust financial systems aligned to PLH’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan and country implementation model.

The role ensures that PLH’s resources are used exclusively to further its charitable purposes, safeguarded appropriately, and managed transparently in the public interest.

Responsibilities:

Charity Governance, Fiduciary Oversight, and Trustee Support

• Act as the primary source of financial advice to the CEO and Board of Trustees, supporting trustees to fulfil their legal and fiduciary duties under UK charity law.

• Support the effective functioning of the Board Finance Committee, including preparation of high-quality financial papers, scenario options, and risk analyses.

• Ensure trustees have clear oversight of:

  • Financial performance against approved budgets

  • Liquidity, reserves, and solvency

  • Financial risks and mitigations

  • Long-term sustainability and going-concern considerations

• Ensure financial decision-making aligns with PLH’s charitable objects, governing documents, and public benefit obligations.

• Support compliance with Charity Commission guidance, including SORP (Standard Operating Procedures), CC3 (The Essential Trustee), CC12 (Managing a Charity’s Finances), and CC19 (Charity Reserves).

• Support trustees in understanding and exercising oversight of charity-wide financial risk, including downside and stress-test scenarios.

Financial Strategy, Planning, and Sustainability

• Lead the costing and financial modelling of PLH’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan and country implementation model, ensuring affordability, sustainability, and strategic coherence.

• Design, implement, and institutionalise a three-tier scenario planning framework (base, growth, and downside cases) to support prudent and adaptive decision-making.

• Develop a long-term (3-5 year) financial sustainability model projecting:

  • Revenue by source (restricted and unrestricted)

  • Expenditure and staffing growth

  • Enterprise risk management (ERM) contributions

  • Reserves, liquidity, and risk exposure

• Develop, maintain, and regularly review PLH’s reserves policy, including target levels, rationale, and planned use, in line with Charity Commission expectations.

• Advise senior leadership and trustees on the financial implications of growth, innovation, and funding opportunities.

• Provide forward-looking financial insight to support organisational decision-making under uncertainty and changing funding conditions.

Financial Management, Reporting, and Controls

• Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate, complete, and timely accounting records in accordance with UK charity accounting standards (SORP FRS 102).

• Provide strategic oversight and assurance over organisation-wide financial reporting, using management accounts and dashboards prepared by the Finance Manager to inform executive and trustee decision-making.

• Ensure proportionate internal controls, segregation of duties, and approval frameworks are current and implemented by the Finance Manager.

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial risk management framework covering:

  • Liquidity and cash-flow risk

  • Donor concentration and funding dependency

  • Currency and foreign exchange exposure

  • Contractual and grant compliance risk

  • Contingency and downside planning

• Ensure effective coordination between in-house finance staff and outsourced accounting and payroll providers, maintaining clear accountability and quality assurance.

Audit, External Reporting, and Transparency

• Oversee the annual audit process, supporting the Finance Manager’s role as primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of statutory accounts.

• Support trustees in reviewing and approving:

  • Statutory financial statements

• Ensure high standards of financial transparency and accountability to donors, partners, regulators, and the public.

We're seeking two Research Grants Officer to join our Research Funds team and support the Joint Heads of Research Funds in all matters relating to the operation of grants administration.

About the role

British Heart Foundation (BHF) currently has six research funding committees: Chairs & Programme Grants Committee; Clinical Studies Committee; Fellowships Committee (Clinical); Fellowships Committee (Discovery Research); Project Grants Committee and Translational Awards Committee. 

These new Research Grants Officer role will support the work of our Fellowships Committee and Special Programmes, as well as covering the work of the other Grants Officers in relation to other committees, when required.
 
In this role you’ll deal with correspondence and address queries relating to all aspects of grants administration in a timely manner. You’ll also administer preliminary outline and full applications, provide feedback and advice to applicants, as well as facilitate and attend committee meetings, arrange interviews and prepare and distribute minutes of the meeting.

You’ll be at ease using a complex database and will provide a high level of service to senior members of the scientific community.

About you

An experienced administrator, you’ll be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, capable of working independently and producing accurate work with minimal supervision.

With excellent interpersonal skills and confidence, you’ll be able to liaise confidently and professionally with all levels of seniority.

With advanced IT skills (Microsoft Office including SharePoint) and database knowledge, you’ll preferably have previous experience servicing committees. You’ll also have previous financial experience, able to pay invoices and be involved in budgeting.

We’re on the hunt for a Programme Manager to join us at this exciting stage of Settle’s development. Over the next few years, we hope to grow the number of young people we are working with and develop new services to support young people with a range of support needs.

The Programme Manager will report to our COO. You’ll be managing a team of Settle Coaches working on the frontline, delivering one-to-one sessions with care-experienced young people across London. Working to support the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations; the Development Officer, Trusts and Foundations, will help to deliver the trust and foundation fundraising strategy. The post-holder will work alongside Development colleagues to identify funding opportunities both in the UK and internationally. The post-holder will have responsibility for securing significant new funds to support the strategic priorities of our £300 million fundraising campaign which covers a wide range of areas. This work will focus particularly on proposals for four and five figure gifts.

The post-holder will assist the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations, in cultivating currently engaged and new trusts, foundations and charities. They will work with the Senior Development Assistant (Research) to grow the pipeline of giving through research into suitable trusts and foundations whose aims are closely aligned with the strategic priorities of the University.

The post-holder will have experience of trust and foundation fundraising accompanied by a sound knowledge of university fundraising. They will be a creative and strategic thinker and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work proactively, both internally and externally. This role will require knowledge of trust and foundation funders, excellent written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
