An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful. 

As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.

We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. We are seeking someone with experience of writing scientifically, copywriting, editing and proofreading, with good attention to detail and with experience of reviewing and interpreting scientific research/literature. We require someone who can co-ordinate and manage projects, who can produce concise, well-constructed, written communications with the ability to present orally to various audiences in a clear and persuasive manner, and who can provide administrative support, including taking meeting minutes and writing professional emails. 

This is a permanent role within the Science and Policy Department at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) International. WCRF International is a not-for-profit organisation that leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is responsible for cancer prevention science, policy, strategic and operational direction to the network charities.

• Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple teams (internal and external)

Summary

The Education and Growing Faith department is looking to hire a Senior Programme Officer to support the church schools and the wider education sector. Working in the Operations Team, you'll be directly supporting the Head of Operations with project work and the wider NSE with system and process support. The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.

The NSE leads the Church of England's national work in education in partnership with 41 Diocesan Boards of Education and approximately 4,700 Church of England schools. We also support the national education work of the Church in Wales, which includes around 150 schools. Our presence extends to work with community schools and academy trusts, as well as higher and further education through numerous chaplaincies, providing spiritual support and guidance to children and young people, and to adults.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of this role is to:

• Support the Head of Operations with policy development and reviews.
• Take responsibility for the continued development and management of the online Office Manual.
• Support the Head of Operations with due diligence tasks around new areas of work, taking ownership of discrete projects.

Job Purpose: The Senior Programme Development Officer is responsible for identifying and securing funding and managing relationships with Peace Direct’s funders

Reporting to: Programme Development Manager

Location: The position will be based at Peace Direct’s office in London.

The Role

Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, the Senior Programme Development Officer will secure income for Peace Direct through research, development and management of relationships with new and existing funders. The post holder will proactively identify new funders, write proposals and reports and steward relationships to secure and maintain the funding necessary for Peace Direct to achieve its organisational goals. This includes programmatic, research, advocacy and strategic funding, working with restricted and unrestricted grants from institutional and trust and foundation funders ranging from £1,000 to £1m+. In collaboration with others, the post holder will also accompany advise and support local partners to diversify their funding.

The role is for someone with an enthusiasm for working with funders, with a strong track record of successfully securing grants from trusts, foundations and/or institutional donors. You will have strong writing skills, exceptional attention to detail and be capable of working effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. A strong affinity with peacebuilding and an interest in challenging the way the international cooperation and peacebuilding sectors works would be beneficial, as would language skills in French, Spanish and/or Arabic.

This permanent position is based in our small, friendly Central London office, working alongside a highly committed and diverse team.

The Role

The Senior Evidence Officers sit within the Evidence Team and involve leading highly impactful evidence synthesis projects. These projects contribute to the Toolkit – a suite of tools aimed at distilling the best available evidence and embedding evidence into policy and practice. Key responsibilities will include:

About You

With an MSc or equivalent master's degree in research methods, education, public health, health sciences, social sciences (or other relevant field of research), you will have  experience in: project management, delivering research/analytical complex projects at quality, establishing appropriate governance with multiple, diverse stakeholders.

You will also have:

• Significant knowledge of high-quality impact evaluation methodology with a rounded understanding of evaluation design
• Capability to work successfully and independently in a multi-disciplinary team
• Skill and experience in designing and commissioning research
• Advanced knowledge and experience of systematic literature review and evidence synthesis
• An understanding of government, the wider policy making community, and how to effect change in policy making and practice, with excellent knowledge of one or more relevant policy or practice areas

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive senior events manager to lead the delivery of our learning and events programme for a 12 month period.

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in how we deliver value to our members through events and learning.

After 10 years the senior project manager has stepped down and FIGO are seeking to use this as an opportunity to review the project delivery model.
