Trustee needed for Faith in Action Homelessness Project. We are seeking a Trustee to join our committed Board working to end homelessness in Merton.
About Us: FiA runs a twice weekly drop in for homeless and vulnerably housed people and a Winter Night Shelter which works in collaboration with faith groups including a Mosque, a Synagogue, a Hindu Temple and Christian churches to provide overnight accommodation and support to find long term housing solutions.

About Care4Calais
Care4Calais is a volunteer-led charity delivering essential aid and support to people seeking asylum living in the UK and Northern France. We provide direct aid and advocate for a fair asylum system, including safe routes to claim asylum.
The UK Direct Aid team delivers essential support through practical services; such as running distributions, delivering English classes and casework-style support through drop-ins. The UK Direct Aid team also provides services to promote wellbeing such as trips and sports activities.
Volunteer Role Description
We are looking for empathetic and motivated people, who are committed to welcoming people seeking safety to join our volunteer teams across the UK. We have volunteer teams across the UK so there will be a local group you can join.
What you will receive:

Comprehensive training to equip you in your role; including safeguarding training, Induction Training, Activities and Distribution Training and Boundaries and Resilience Training.

Greater understanding of the UK asylum system
As a volunteer, there is a range of activities you can choose to get involved in, depending on the area you volunteer. Some activities include:

English classes/ conversation clubs

Drop-ins - help with requests and signpost to support.

Distributions - provide essential items like clothing, shoes, toiletries.
-
Sports - activities like yoga, football etc. are a great way to improve wellbeing, and for people to connect with others.

Trips - organise trips to places such as the park, cinema to help boost mood and give people time away from the hotel.

Wellbeing activities - sessions like crafts and cooking are popular.

Workshops - help with housing once someone receives Leave to Remain; familiarise people with life in the UK.

Events - mark specific days or holidays to get people together and celebrate.

Media/ Press/ Engagements - as a volunteer, you may be asked to share a story for our social media or help someone with lived experience to share.

Remote working - support with tasks such as contacting Migrant Help, assisting individuals to register with GPS, researching local support, or general admin.

About YAUK
Youth Advantage UK is a charitable organisation that uses a research-led approach to inform policy work and projects
that aim to promote and further the human rights of young people aged 11 to 25 across the United Kingdom.
Please note that this is a VOLUNTEER role.

We are looking to appoint a volunteer who has management experience and who is able to support the functions of our Communications & Marketing Department through the effective management of our marketing team and marketing policy. These functions include: website, social media, engagement, events and sponsorship (as a temporary function within this department).
Key accountabilities:
- Departmental strategic management
- Marketing policy development
- Social media output
- Website development and design
- Engagement and events
- To take part in department wider management and leadership activities
- To support the planning of department activities
- To take on line management roles as assigned
- To provide effective supervision and guidance to other volunteers as delegated
- To oversee departmental tasks
- To provide support and additional capacity with regards to progress of departmental relevant tasks
Requirements
- To have experience working in the charity sector or voluntary sector
- To have experience in managing a team of people/volunteers
- To be competent in IT, social media and website design
- To be an effective communicator and leader
- At least 7 or more years of relevant experience.
- Some experience (ideally 2 or more years) of managing or leading a team.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- IT literacy with own equipment (laptop and phone)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Right to volunteer in the UK

Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to capture nature in an engaging and informative way?
We are seeking volunteer photographers to help us build a high-quality image library and create eye-catching visuals for our social media channels, website, publications, and case studies. Your photographs will play a key role in showcasing our impact and motivating more people to support a greener, healthier London.
You will have the flexibility to capture photos in your local area, focusing on specific themes featured in the supporting document. In addition, we will be hosting a number of hands-on tree planting sessions across London, and we would be delighted to have you join us to photograph, or digitally film these activities.
All images will be attributed appropriately, but we are unable to pay any royalties now or in the future. However, you're welcome to share links displaying your published work in support of our aims.
