About the Role

As the Triage and Early Interventions Officer you will:

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred into the service, ensuring that comprehensive needs and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client's needs is provided.
• Deliver initial support services and ensure high quality support and effective triage work is completed for people affected by crime, in accordance with the Witness Service operating procedures and be responsible for delivery of a professional and effective telephone /video call-based support service.
• Ensure each witnesses receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
• Foster an inclusive, trauma-informed, person-centred approach that recognises diverse needs and vulnerabilities.

You Will Have:

• Strong administration and organising skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues and legislation relating to both child protection and vulnerable adults
• The ability to undertake needs and risks assessments and identify appropriate support
• Experience delivering services in demanding environments with a focus on customer experience and service excellence.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to work without direct supervision, manage competing demands, and maintain organised and methodical working practices.
• Sound IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Additional Information-

This role involves exposure to emotionally information and requires resilience and emotional maturity.
Some travel across England and Wales to meet with the RIC team may be required.

As a Trauma Stabilisation Worker, you will deliver person-centred support and structured interventions to help residents manage trauma, build emotional regulation skills and develop coping strategies to support recovery and housing stability. You will work closely with colleagues and external partners to maintain a trauma-informed, psychologically informed environment that promotes safety, consistency and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support residents experiencing trauma, mental ill-health, substance use, homelessness and complex needs

• Deliver structured 1:1 trauma stabilisation interventions and maintain a manageable caseload

• Help residents build emotional regulation, coping skills, and confidence to sustain housing and move forward positively

• Create and review personalised support plans through one-to-one work, group sessions, and multi agency collaboration

This team offers support to 52 residents across services in Gillingham, Chatham and Rochester for single homeless people andthose who may have a history of offending, these projects are commissioned by the Medway Council Housing Related Support team.  

As a Support Coach, you will identify individual resident needs and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals, during which we support them to improve their quality of life, access treatment programs, and secure stable housing. Our Medway homeless project focuses on people with a housing related support need we encourage service residents to develop coping strategies and supportive relationships to empower them to maintain their mental health, be a part of the community, and achieve their personal goals. Support enables service residents to significantly improve their opportunities and develop fulfilling and settled lives within the community. To enable vulnerable people to manage their licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

The shift pattern for this role is as follows: Scattered sites 9 - 5pm Monday till Friday and weekend occasional

What you'll do:
* Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader / Manager
* Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
* Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Support customers to move on from the service through their identified move on pathway liaising with Tower Hamlet's HOST and Clearing House.

About the role

This role is based in Pontypool Police Station, Pontypool, it is offered on a hybrid working basis and there is a requirement for travel throughout the area.

As a Caseworker- Children and Uong People you will be:

• Managing a caseload of Victims of Crime with the highest level of need, both directly, through in-depth, 1:1 support, and indirectly, by working other service providers. Undertaking face to face support, case-tracking and management.
• Carry out effective management of volunteers, assessing their competence to practice using national guidelines
• Promote the work of Victim Support by attending local community and public events

You will need:

• Proven track record of successfully delivering a service and working directly with clients or service users in a statutory, voluntary or Multi-Agency Setting(s)
• Experience of Managing a caseload including complex case management.
• Understanding and knowledge of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practice and maintenance of files in accordance with the data Protection Act and other legal requirements
• Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity.
• Experience of managing safeguarding issues and relevant legislation

ROLE SUMMARY

This is the lead communications role at Youth Leads UK - the person who holds our voice, shapes our stories, and makes sure the world hears what our young people are doing and why it matters.

Working closely with the CEO and eventually supported by two Youth Content Creators, you will own the communications and engagement function across all channels and audiences. You will set the tone, maintain the brand, lead our campaigns, and ensure everything we put out reflects who we are and what we stand for.
 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Strategy and brand

• Own the Youth Leads UK communications strategy, ensuring our channels, campaigns, and content are coherent, consistent, and purposeful
• Act as the guardian of our brand — maintaining voice, tone, and visual identity across everything we produce
• Work closely with the CEO to align communications activity with organisational priorities and the Generation:NOW strategy
• Analyse performance across channels and use insight to inform what we do next

Campaigns and content

• Lead the development and delivery of youth-led campaigns on issues that matter to our communities - from mental health and civic participation to cost of living and representation
• Oversee the planning and production of Youth Leads Magazine - three editions per year, created by and for young people
• Lead on long-form and strategic content including press releases, impact reports, website articles, and stakeholder communications
• Set the brief for social media content and oversee delivery by the Youth Content Creators, ensuring quality, consistency, and brand alignment
• Manage email communications including newsletters and stakeholder updates

Developing young people

• Provide day-to-day communications direction to two Youth Content Creators — setting briefs, reviewing content, and ensuring brand consistency
• Actively mentor and develop the Youth Content Creators, helping them build skills, confidence, and understanding of professional communications practice. The youth content creators will be line managed by the Head of Programmes, who you will work closely with
• Champion youth voice across all communications output, ensuring young people are authentically represented and genuinely involved in how we tell our story

Media and public profile

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media contacts across local, regional, and national outlets
• Draft and issue press releases, media statements, and reactive comments
• Identify and pursue opportunities to place youth voice in public debate - through opinion pieces, broadcast appearances, panel contributions, and more
• Support the CEO and young people to prepare for media appearances and public-facing engagements

Communicating our impact

• Work with the wider team to translate programme outcomes, data, and young people’s stories into compelling content for a range of audiences
• Produce materials that communicate Youth Leads UK’s impact clearly and powerfully to partners, funders, and the public
• Ensure our digital presence - website, social channels, email - reflects the quality and ambition of our work

OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Ensure young people play a strong leadership role across our work
• Keep up to date on new developments and trends within the youth sector
• Administrative duties as required, such as minute-taking, arranging travel and booking venues
• Representing Youth Leads UK at conferences and events
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation
• Ensure Youth Leads UK’s Health and Safety and Safeguarding and any other appropriate policies are adhered to where necessary

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

ESSENTIAL

• Strong writing skills - able to produce compelling content across formats, from social media captions to press releases to long-form articles
• Experience developing and delivering communications strategies or campaigns
• Solid understanding of brand, voice, and audience - and how to maintain consistency across channels
• Experience managing or overseeing social media channels for an organisation or campaign
• Ability to use analytics to evaluate performance and make informed decisions about future activity
• Experience writing press releases or supporting media and press engagement
• Confidence building relationships with journalists, media contacts, or external stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills - able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure

• Proficiency in Canva for creating and adapting branded content

• Experience working in or with the charity, public, or youth sector
• Understanding of civic leadership, social action, or community engagement
• Experience directing, briefing, or supporting others to deliver communications work
• Familiarity with website content management systems
