Holy Trinity Hastings (HTH) is an Anglican Church in the town centre of Hastings and part of the HTB network. In Hastings, Resurgo is partnering with HTH Church –Spear Hastings will be a key part of HTH Church’s mission to change the culture of the town by bringing hope to unemployed young people. In joining the Spear Hastings team, you will be part of the social outreach programme at HTH –the ‘Beating Heart of Hastings’.
The important stuff
Salary: £27,000, pro rata for part time role (£21,600)
Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday –Thursday, Part-time (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Personal qualities we’re looking for

· Self-motivated with strong leadership, management and organisational skills with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workload
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a confidence in group facilitation, high emotional intelligence, and a sense of fun!
Key Responsibilities
Partnership liaison and relationship management
· Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
· Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme
· As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
· Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
· Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.
Line Management and training
· Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
· Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.
Church Community
· The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by HTH Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
· You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
· Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.
Site management and set-up
· Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening
· Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

Join us as our next Centre Manager and use your leadership and interpersonal skills to head up our team delivering employment support in Spear Bristol.
In partnership with Christ Church Clifton, you’ll be managing the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. Over the last 18 years, Spear has supported more than 8,000 young people across the UK with the work-ready skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment, no matter the challenges they face. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
Strategy, vision and impact [30%]
- Spearheading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, where each member plays its part, and the church is empowered to transform young lives
- Owning and managing the strategy for Spear Bristol that will help make this vision a reality
- Ensuring the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets; overseeing and reporting on impact metrics
Relationship management [25%]
- Building and managing great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
- You'll be embedded into Christ Church Clifton, and working closely with your Trust and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
Leadership, line management and training [20%]
- Leading your team with confidence; spurring them on in your centre’s vision; investing in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun
- Investing in the professional growth of your Lead Coach and Graduate Coach
- Inputting into organisational-wide training streams
- Inputting into recruitment of new team members
Driving a culture of coaching [20%]
- Driving a culture of coaching in your team
- Hands-on group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
- Engaging in gritty conversations with your trainees; walking alongside them whatever their circumstances; inspiring them and releasing their potential
- Managing safeguarding
- Opportunities to engage in corporate coaching
Operations [5%]
- Managing the daily operational activity of your centre, including IT, finance and health and safety

Many of our Spear trainees have faced significant barriers to finding work, including family breakdown, growing up in care, disability or mental health difficulties, having been involved in crime, or really struggling at school. We believe that being out of work can lead to isolation and proliferate these challenges, meaningful work is key in helping young people find a sense of purpose and community. In partnership with Bridge Community Church, we are looking for coaches to work in the Spear centre to deliver the Spear Programme to 16-24 year olds, equipping and empowering them to overcome the barriers they face and turn their lives around.

Working requirements, salary & benefits
- Salary: from £22,000
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
- One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years.
- Occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)
- There is a requirement to become part of Bridge Community Church congregation, and you will be expected to participate in church team events as well as wider Resurgo team events, including weekly staff prayer meetings and annual staff conferences in summer and winter (one residential)

· You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
· The Spear Coach is directly employed by HTH Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
· Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within HTH Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation

Person Specification

- A proven track record of building productive working relationships internally and externally, and extensive line management experience

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Build a strategy for attracting high performing talent into Resurgo and our partner Spear centres, in line with our goals for national growth and ensuring our teams reflect the communities they serve.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process across Resurgo and our partner Spear centres (with support from the HR Executive), working with the D&I Manager to train team members on interview skills, and advising and guiding Department Heads through the recruitment process
- Work with the Head of Church Partnerships to develop the Spear Graduate Scheme as a training programme of choice, ensuring there is a pipeline of outstanding coaches for our partner Spear centres and managing the recruitment cycle throughout the year
- Manage the outward face of Resurgo recruitment and profile raising to potential employees including building a strategy on recruitment relationships, and networking with potential referral organisations, attending careers fairs and other events
Progression and Organisational Development
- Work with the Director of PCO to conduct job analysis across Resurgo to understand current and future job needs to meet organisational goals, and succession planning for key roles
- Work with the Director of PCO and Head of Church Partnerships on staff progression planning and talent retention strategies, as well as advising on individual performance management issues, supporting line managers to develop and grow both highly performing and underperforming team members
Learning and Development
- Design a learning and development strategy across all teams at Resurgo, ensuring we grow and develop talented employees both for their current roles, and enabling them to progress within the organization
- Research and consult on potential training options for individuals and teams as needed, working with Heads of Department to identify key learning needs and either develop learning offers to meet those needs or source relevant and high impact external training, for both hard and soft skills
Active Participation in the Philanthropy and wider Resurgo Mission
