This is a newly created role working within our Fundraising & Communication Dept.

Role summary

Working within our fundraising and communications team, you will support the management of our communications portfolio of work. Maintaining our consistent brand, you will lead on digital and print asset development. You will lead on supporter communications, assisting the rest of the team to raise the profile and bring new supporters into the organisation. You will manage our social channels, website content and newsletter, and developing creative assets and materials for our external work both in the UK and the US.

You will also support on fundraising within the organisation, gaining experience across a wide variety of income generation areas. This will typically focus on applications to small Trusts and Foundations, the delivery of our events and the implementation of our individual giving programme.

You will work both independently and collaboratively to assist the development of creative assets events and activities. With excellent time management and organisational skills, you will demonstrate the ability to deliver quality work and hit deadlines, while managing a varied workload.

Contractual terms

Location: Nine Elms, Central London – current requirement is for staff to be in the office a minimum of two days a week between Tuesday and Thursday

Hours: Full time,  37.5 hrs week (open to four or four-and-a-half days as well)

Term: Permanent

Salary Range: £27,534 to £30,400

Annual Leave: 25 days per annum, plus an additional 3 days between Christmas and New Year.

Job purpose

1. Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

2. Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s portfolio of fundraising events.

3. Assist the delivery of our individual giving programme, supporting other forms of community and Trusts and Foundations fundraising.

4. Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications Team as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.

Key accountabilities

Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

1. Manage Able Child Africa’s social channels, working with our creative assets and key messages, to maintain a professional and engaging external brand.

2. Support the management a vibrant and responsive website by ensuring content is up to date, professional and engaging; supporting the collection of imagery, videos, case studies and blogs where directed.

3. Produce and distribute Able Child Africa’s quarterly newsletter, contributing with high quality written content and complying with organisational data protection and confidentiality standards.

Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s portfolio of fundraising events.

4. Assist with the delivery of Able Child Africa’s events portfolio when required. This includes but is not exclusive to the London Marathon, the Gala Dinner, and the Charity Golf Day.

5. Market the events, recruiting, retaining, and communicating with participants to support the achievement of income targets.

6. Support with donor stewardship activities post event, engaging new regular donors and supporters to grow our incomes streams.

Assist the delivery of other areas of our fundraising work, including but not exclusive to Trusts and Foundations, individual giving and community fundraising.

7. Support the attainment of funds from a variety of Trusts and Foundations, through submitting high quality applications.

8. Support Able Child Africa’s individual giving programme, assisting with donor communications, building relationships with donors and growing our income.

9. Support community fundraising activities, empowering existing and newly sourced supporters, (including schools, universities and other members of the public) to independently generate funds for Able Child Africa through independent events and activities.

Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications and wider operational teams as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.

10. Maintain our Salesforce database, keeping detailed records of communications, support and donations from individuals and organisations.

11. Support our advocacy objectives, working with the Advocacy team to produce high quality and consistent messaging for use within the international development sector.

12. Support the delivery of unique and ongoing operational activities as required for the effective running of the organisation.

Competencies

Experience

1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising or communications support role.

2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.

3. Experience or knowledge of managing individual donors with demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders (including public, media and donors) to advance a cause.

Skills and Technical Competencies

4. Creative ability to assist in the production of engaging content for communication in line with the organisational brand and mission.

5. Competency in managing social channels under direction, developing newsletters and other blogs or articles.

6. Basic understanding of WordPress, and other design packages (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) desirable.

7. An understanding of contributing to an organisational culture based on inclusivity, wellbeing and empowerment.

8. Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to work under pressure to prioritise and manage varied workload and competing deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Patrons Manager, the Patrons Manager is responsible for cultivating a pipeline of potential Patrons, from prospecting through to making the ask. You will work to achieve significant growth of Patrons membership whilst ensuring the highest standards are met.

• Work with the Patrons Coordinator to ensure that day-to-day enquiries from Patrons are answered in a timely fashion, and that any emerging issues are escalated where necessary.
• To ensure that all UK and international Patrons are aware of opportunities to give to the scheme in a tax efficient and effective manner.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a subject which requires excellent written skills.
• Experience in fundraising and private giving with sound knowledge of Annual Giving schemes.
• Experience in handling data (including financial data) and designing effective processes.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
• To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.
• To participate and / or lead in team meetings as appropriate.
• To act as the lead staff team representative on the Strategy and Fundraising Board Sub-committee, actively contributing and working with Trustees, as well as attending Board meetings.

Fundraising and Development

• To co-design and write grant applications and secure grant funding from Trusts, Foundations or Corporate entities in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £400k-£500k).
• To work with the Partnerships Manager to secure Fundraising income from individual givers, major donors, Crowdfunding campaigns and other fundraising initiatives in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £200k).
• To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
• To research and prospect future funders.
• To maintain precise and up-to-date records on current and potential supporters and prospects.
• To create engaging fundraising communication tools.
• To establish partnerships for joint programmes and funding bids where beneficial.

Donor stewardship & reporting

• To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.
• To work with the team to co-design programmes and their evaluation requirements to ensure the organisation meets the grant funders' requirements. 
• To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements. 

Communications

• To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated
• To maintain a stock of impact-focused case studies and success stories and ensure fundraising successes are communicated on social media and online.
• To ensure the robust monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns; providing key input to the annual report and impact report.
• To coordinate fundraising events with the Community Partnerships Manager. 

Line Management

• To have direct line management responsibility for the Community Partnerships Manager and Social Media & Marketing Manager, creating a supportive environment for growth and development.

Office Location – Wendover, Bucks.

Salary - Up to £30,000 (FTE)

About the Role 

The Events Fundraiser will support the charity’s aim to provide all life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature. The post holder will be responsible for generating income through the management of a range of fundraising events, as well as supporting individuals organising their own fundraising activities within their community and/or corporate environment. 

You will ensure efficient event management and administration as well as provide excellent supporter care. 

The Event Fundraiser will:

• Project manage a range of events, including planning, marketing, and supporter stewardship, through to event delivery and evaluation. 
• Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver and schedule events, on time, within budget, meeting fundraising goals. 
• Deliver exceptional supporter care to those who support the work of the charity. 
• Plan and deliver events, including logistics, briefing of stakeholders and volunteers, compiling risk assessments and any other tasks relevant to ensuring an excellent supporter experience. 
• Ensure the supporter database is accurate and up to date, as well as follow all relevant financial processes to ensure event income and expenditure are accurately recorded. 
• Report fortnightly to the Director of Fundraising & Communications on agreed fundraising targets and activity. 
• Be responsible for ensuring relevant community and events pages, news, and forms on the Greenfingers website are accurate and up to date. 
• Work collaboratively with the team.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.
• Work in line with the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines, and other relevant codes of conduct.

Working as an integral part of the Fundraising & Communications Team, you will be:

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The role requires excellent donor care and stewardship skills. All forms of communication will be required including the proactive use of digital channels such as the website and social media platforms.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.

You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Using data and insight, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns, with people affected by cleft right at the centre. Fundraising 

• Work with the Director and consultants to own and implement a robust fundraising strategy to support the organisation as it executes its new strategic plan 

• Develop processes for managing fundraising applications and stewardship of existing funders and supporters 

• Write and submit high quality, inspiring and tailored funding applications and reports for trusts and foundations (expected to be in the region of £10,000-150,000) 

• Identify and develop potential new funding opportunities for First Give, including major donors and corporate funders 

• Manage relationships with a set number of key funders, ensuring that we proactively seek feedback, engagement and involvement in our work 

New School Partner Recruitment 

• Oversee and co-ordinate all new school partner recruitment sales and marketing activity 

• Work with our marketing agency to develop and implement marketing campaigns 

• Support the Programmes Team to recruit new partner schools in priority regions 

• Proactively seek opportunities for growth of the First Give partners network 

• Develop and design and production of marketing and sales resources to support all sales activity

Communications 

• Lead the development and manage the delivery of our communications strategy, including all messaging to key stakeholders via a range of appropriate channels, including newsletters, social media and our website

Essential 

• Passionate about young people and their potential to drive social change 

• Leadership experience, ideally in a charity of similar complexity and scale 

• Ability to triage between the strategic and operational with ease and confidence 

• Demonstrable success as a fundraiser, particularly bid-writing, reporting and funder stewardship 

• Experience of developing and implementing a communications strategy 

• Experience of creating a range of content for different audiences and channels including marketing materials, newsletters, blogs, social media content etc… 

• Experience developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies, preferably in the education sector 

• Experience of writing and managing budgets, delivering plans using resources available 

• Track record of stakeholder management at senior levels

Role outline and purpose
The Trussell Trust are seeking a Philanthropy Executive - Trusts to join our high-performing Trusts team. The role supports the Trussell Trust by raising money from charitable trusts, focusing specifically on Tier 3 trusts (giving up to c.£10,000). You will coordinate a programme of regular stewardship communications to our current givers, fundraise from new prospects through mailings and occasional applications, provide administrative support to the wider team, and ensure that records of communications are kept up to date.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate and send mass mailings to Tier 3 charitable trusts, thanking supporters and requesting further support where appropriate
• Develop compelling, persuasive and up-to-date bulk communications to encourage Tier 3 trusts to give regularly, and keep them informed of the Trussell Trust’s achievements and future plans, coordinating with other fundraising teams where appropriate 
• Manage a caseload of c.500 Tier 3 trusts, maintaining accurate records on our CRM database and carrying out analysis on these trusts as necessary
• Liaise with the Supporter Care and Trusts team to ensure that gifts from trusts are coded, thanked and recorded correctly on our database 
• Create and submit occasional funding applications and impact reports for Tier 3 trusts, and offer support to the wider team with their trusts where necessary
• Manage the Trusts team inbox, providing first point of contact for enquiries and colleagues, and fielding them to the relevant Trusts team members.
