This role offers the opportunity to be part of a successful national remote service, offering support via the phone or Zoom to affected adults in the UK. We are looking to recruit experienced Family Support professionals to provide these virtual support sessions to individual family members and sometimes groups. We are offering a number of roles at 15-20 hours per week, across 3-5 days, including Wednesday and at least 2 evenings per week (Mon-Wed).

Experience in supporting family members affected by someone else’s substance use is essential, as is experience with assessing and managing risk. Ideally, you would also have experience of working to support parents with their parenting and / or those experiencing domestic abuse. We offer fixed hours part time contracts within a friendly and supportive team. Whilst based at home and requiring the ability to work autonomously, Adfam prides ourselves on our supportive team ethos and working culture. 

• Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Overall job purpose

As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects.  You will lead on capital, conservation and maintenance programmes in East Anglia and beyond as required.

You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector. You might be a Building Surveyor, a Conservation Architect, an Estate Manager, or a Project Manager, in this continually varied and unique role you will be working on some of the most significant historic buildings in the country. As you’ll be working on projects across a large geographical area, it is essential you have a full driving licence.

This is a first line, important and meaningful holistic information and advice-giving role for an experienced Welfare Benefits Advisor. It’s about using information you collect to provide immediate welfare benefits advice and guidance, and/or refer, escalate and signpost seamlessly to other colleagues and services according to client needs.

It’s a rewarding welfare benefits job working with people with a cancer diagnosis. It’s one where you’ll make an immediate difference through your practical and sound advice, existing customer service skills and knowledge and experience in the welfare benefits area.

The role is primarily home based with Cardiff Head Office working welcome. You’ll need to be flexible to commute to Cardiff as required with a higher concentration of days during your induction and probation period for training and team interaction on at least a monthly basis.

Working as part of a Financial Health and Wellbeing service, you’ll be making a first line assessment to determine urgency and priority for new client referrals gathering key financial and health information. Your work is mainly done over the phone but may also be in person or digitally where you’ll be advising and making decisions on next actions including giving advice to complete your cases, referring on or escalating the most complex cases.

Service referrals may come from cancer medical professionals or self-referrals from cancer patients. What’s important is you understand the whole picture and gather the right level of financial health information to give appropriate financial benefits advice and signpost to other services from the start of the relationship, so all potential cancer support opportunities are handled professionally.

Our service user experience is key, you’ll make sure the way you work is professional and personable and quality. You’ll be supporting and advising your own caseload of clients with a chronic cancer condition or a life-limiting cancer prognosis so knowledge of working with people with disabilities, people too ill to work or in a distressing situation is something you can comfortably manage in a targeted environment.

We are looking for a talented Community Shop Manager who is an enthusiastic self-starter, with a passion for charity retail, to manage our Warwick shop on a full time (37.5 hours per week) basis.

Wolfram Syndrome UK (WSUK)

WSUK is a small national charity based in West Sussex that supports children, young people and adults affected by Wolfram Syndrome (WS) and their parents/wider families. WS is an ultra-rare genetic disorder which causes a complex range of symptoms, including diabetes mellitus, vision problems, renal problems, deafness, and neurological problems. WSUK provides current, accurate and family-friendly information, raises awareness of WS among health professionals and the public, and helps to fund WS research. WSUK Adult Support Co-ordinator Role

WSUK is seeking a part-time adult support co-ordinator (2.5 days per week, working over 4-5 days, 0.5 FTE, £14.1k-£15.6k per annum), based in the Midlands area. This home-based role will provide support to WS affected adults and their families to help improve the quality of their lives. Through liaising with professionals (including the WS expert clinical team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Birmingham), external or advocacy organisations, this role will help facilitate access to the services to which WS affected adults and their families are entitled. The adult support co-ordinator will help adults and their families to increase their confidence and independence in living with their condition. This role will also act as an important point of contact for WS affected adults, providing advice and support in confidence.

Skills and experience

Applicants should have several years’ experience in a similar position, working with people affected by sensory loss, long-term medical / genetic condition, or disability. Applicants should also have a strong desire to help improve the lives of adults living with a long-term condition or disability and be confident in talking with people with a range of abilities and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Applicants should have experience in working effectively as part of a remote team, be confident in working independently and in managing conflicting priorities.

Some limited UK travel will be required (particularly to meet WS affected adults during their WS clinic visit at QEH, Birmingham (6 clinics per year) and the annual WS conference. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

We are looking for a new Finance Manager to be responsible for the effective day-to-day financial management of the charity supporting the CEO with the Finance Strategy.

She will work closely with the CEO, SMT and Trustees and she will provide clear, timely financial information to support sound operational and strategic decision-making and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

You will deliver activities to support the MHCLG’s National Workforce Programme, by supporting housing and homelessness teams in both the public and voluntary sector to develop knowledge and skills Learning Pathways. Some Pathways will be specific to a role and others will be focussed on developing organisational knowledge, but all will support the development of professional skills and knowledge for those working with people experiencing housing and homelessness problems in England, to improve outcomes. You will also design, coordinate, and deliver a range of conferences and good practice events to promote learning and innovation across the sector.

About you 

You have proven experience in developing and managing tailored learning pathways and training programmes, including for housing and homelessness law and wider skills development, along with strong experience of working with people with multiple disadvantage and/or those who support them. You are able to develop and maintain partnerships across agencies to ensure the best client support and contribute to multiple agency projects, collaborating and sharing knowledge. Ideally, you are experienced in the homelessness sector or a related field, as well as having excellent skills in communication, IT and digital systems.
