About the Role

The Team and Events Assistant will play a critical role in the delivery of a successful fundraising programme. Reporting to the Special Events Manager, the role will provide fantastic exposure and experience across a successful philanthropy programme and wider events calendar. This is happening at an extremely exciting time for the charity as we are in the midst of two capital campaigns for two new ground breaking hospitals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, providing administrative support and coordinating diaries, meetings and committee activities.
• Maintain and update CRM records, ensuring accurate data management, reporting and event administration.
• Coordinate financial processes, including purchase orders, invoices and budget-related administration.
• Support the planning and delivery of a diverse programme of fundraising, stewardship and special events.
• Manage event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, guest communications, materials, supplier liaison and venue arrangements.
• Provide on-site event support, including registration, set-up, pack-down and stakeholder engagement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team in Exeter.

The Deputy Manager will work as part of a team that provide holistic recovery-focused support to clients with mental health across Exeter & East Devon Mental Health Services. 

They will work closely with and deputise for the Service Manager to ensure the effective delivery of quality housing and support services within Exeter & East Devon Mental Health Services and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery. Manage all new donor streams for the Trust, including mail, email, regular giving, mid-value supporters, and legacy prospects, while delivering multi-channel campaigns and creating strong welcome journeys. Convert one-off donors into regular givers, ensure smooth transition to long-term stewardship, and develop strategies to grow legacy and in-memory giving.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

 1. Develop and implement the Trust’s strategy across regular giving, one of donors, mid value and legacy pledgers to acquire and steward new donors. Working with the other Individual Giving Manager and in consultation with the Head of Fundraising and Communications.

2. Prepare and monitor the annual income and expenditure budget with support from the Head of Fundraising.

6. Work with a creative agency on campaigns across all Individual Giving streams, testing and adapting regularly to optimise results.

7. Work with the other Individual Giving Manager focused on retention, Database Manager and the appointed fulfilment house to ensure that supporters are managed to the highest level of donor care standards and GDPR guidelines. 

8. Continue to develop the regular giving acquisition proposition to grow each segment of supporters and negate attrition.

9. Maximise Gift Aid income from the acquisition appeals.

10. Working with Legacy Administration team lead on legacy marketing.

11. Remain current on developments to GDPR, especially to consent and ensure all campaigns comply with those guidelines.

12. As appropriate, to support and participate in any fundraising event organised by the Trust.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and complementary therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru & 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During tis time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death. We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England. We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.

What we do for you:

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. Full details of the scheme will be provided to you once you are enrolled, including the minimum level of contributions that you will be required to make during your membership (current contributions - employer 3% and employee 5%).

Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.

We’re looking for a talented Individual Giving Manager to join the Fundraising & Communications Cluster at Embrace.

The Fundraising & Communications Cluster comprises expertise in fundraising, marketing, communication, trading (web shop), supporter engagement and retention. Working collaboratively, we serve our supporters by providing authentic and engaging communications inspiring active social witness, engagement and giving to charity. 

The Fundraising & Communications Cluster strengthens Embrace’s communication, education, and fundraising efforts to drive growth, so that more people engage with our content, more donors are attracted to support, and the UK church is more deeply engaged with the cause - enabling us to fund more work in the region and generate a deeper understanding of Christian service in the Middle East.

As Individual Giving Manager, you’ll help us grow sustainable income by keeping individual supporters inspired, informed and engaged - so they give again, stay longer, and deepen their support.

You will deliver an excellent supporter journey experience, project managing engaging and compelling direct and digital individual giving activity (including – but not limited to – appeals, regular giving conversion & upgrade, lapsed reactivation) and incorporating legacies marketing, raising more than £1m voluntary income each year.

• Higher Life-Time Value (LTV): more second gifts, upgrades and cross channel giving; stronger legacy pipeline.
• Lower churn: reduced lapse rates for cash and regular givers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Experience & Journeys

• Map and continually improve journeys: welcome → second gift; regular giving nurture/upgrade; mid-value; legacy prospecting; lapsed reactivation; complaint recovery.
• Set cadence and channel mix (email, mail, phone, SMS, social, events, digital) for consistent, donor‑first communications in appropriate channels and accessible formats.
• Donor-first approach: clear, inclusive language; accessible formats; low‑friction giving/retention flows and personalisation e.g. name, last gift, interests, location, project etc.
• Collaborate with Content & Communications colleagues to deliver content that shares the impact of support i.e. what donors make possible and Embrace’s brand story.

Segmentation, Testing & Insight

• Track Regular Giving net growth; diagnose attrition drivers and fix root causes; maintain acceptable Return on Investment (ROIs).
• Lead supporter segmentation (by behaviour & interest) and A/B testing (offer, timing, upgrade prompts).
• Adopt an evidence-based, test and learn‑ approach; analyse appeals, campaign performance and share insights to drive decisions.
• Work with colleagues to build insight dashboard and understanding of retention.

Mid‑Value & Legacy Development

• Steward mid‑value donors with tailored journeys; warm handovers to and from Major Giving Manager.
• Develop and test legacy propositions and routes to market to grow enquiries and pledges.

Acquisition & Cross‑Sell

• Project manage individual giving product development and testing; identify new audiences and routes to market.
• Collaborate with Web Shop team and the Digital Marketing Campaigns Manager to optimise Alternative Gifts and cross-sell opportunities focusing on a digital first approach.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the Supporter Experience Team to ensure that supporter journeys are being optimised and feedback from supporters is being captured and acted upon.
• Commission and work with the CRM and Systems Manager to develop clear and understandable dashboards, ensuring that the insights are used to develop plans and measure performance.
• Closely liaise with the Legacy administration team, working with them to ensure the packs and information are up to date and legacy marketing information complies with the latest Institute of Legacy Management standards.
• Develop an understanding of the Partner projects and Advocacy agenda, ensure all supporter briefings are aligned to agreed messaging.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent (E.g. practical experience within fundraising).

• Proven individual giving or CRM led retention experience in a charity, membership or subscription context. 
• Hands‑on journey design and automation.
• Strong data literacy: segmentation, dashboards (CRM/Excel), test and learn. 
• Excellent written communication—able to brief compelling, impacted content and clear supporter updates.

Job Purpose 

The weekend Hospital to Home Project Officer is responsible for responding to referrals received over the weekend from both Royal London Hospital & Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will work with the manager on Friday to deliver services and plan visits on the weekend for you to attend.   
  

The service supports people returning after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning. You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and in liaison with the manager, allocate service users to Hospital to Home Outreach Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage the weekend service to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users. The service is time limited, up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust, build confidence, and settle back in their homes.    

You will also be required to undertake community-based outreach as part of service delivery, including visiting service users in their homes both pre-and post-discharge. This includes conducting access visits, welfare checks, and providing practical support such as shopping assistance to ensure a safe and sustainable transition from hospital to home. Over the weekend you be based in the hospital, with lone working visits to client’s properties for support.  

Key Tasks 

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals over the weekend across both hospitals.  

• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments.   

• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system Salesforce in accordance with GDPR guidelines.  

• Allocate referrals to Hospital to Home Outreach Workers using tech available Field Service App, training will be available.  

• Collect feedback from service users and upload to case management system.  

• Deputise for the manager at discharge planning and other meetings as required.  

• Monitor the case loads of each of the Hospital to Home Outreach Worker (HHOW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced.  

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services.  

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to prevent unnecessary readmission to hospital.  

• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge.  

• Deliver the front-line support services over the weekend such as:   

• Undertake home visits to service users pre- and post- discharge to support safe and timely hospital discharge.  

• Provide welfare checks to monitor service users’ wellbeing during post-discharge period.  

• Deliver practical, person-centred support during visits, including shopping assistance and other essential tasks to aid independent living.  

• Identify and respond to risks within the home environment, escalating concerns where appropriate  

• Provide occasional cover for the A/L of other Project Officers   

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital.  

• Supervise, support and develop HHOWs and volunteers in your service.  

• Liaise with the handyperson service about referrals and jobs for service users.  

• Ensure HHOW are resourced to sign post service users to other services when the home and settle service intervention ends. 

Administration 

• Keep AUKEL’s case management system up to date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded.  

• Allocate referrals to HHOW using tech available Salesforce ‘Field Service’ App.  

• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators.  

• Ensure service user feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns.  

• Ensure admin tasks relating to service users, HHOW or general admin is carried out in a timely and efficient manner. 

Quality  

• Be familiar with and to implement AUKEL policies and procedures in line with our Values.  

• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance line with Care Quality Commission principals.  

• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred and/or sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them.    

• Respond to safeguarding or other concerns and make appropriate reports and management action 

Liaison  

• Represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events to remain aware of local, regional and national issues affecting quality and compliance affecting care and home support services.  

• Work in collaboration with hospital colleagues including discharge teams, A&E, ward staff, community teams to support the successful discharge of people and reduce readmission.  

• Liaise with other AUKEL home and settle services across London and work collaboratively to maintain effective services, including sharing staff where appropriate.  

• Work closely with the AUKEL handyperson service to meet contractual obligations where a handyperson service is provided as part of the service.  

• Liaise with contractors to arrange deliveries and works to service user’s homes.  

 General 

• Meet regularly with your line manager for support, supervision, and appraisal.  

• Attend team and staff meetings, and other meetings as required.  

• Undertake any other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be required from time to time for the continued smooth running of AUKEL.  

• Complete any training which is required to fulfil the role.

It’s been a successful few years for the Events team with good results across the board – increasing income by over £1 million every year since 2023, a big part of which has been due to the huge growth of virtual challenges. Now’s an exciting time as we’ve recently expanded the team again, bringing in new resource to give our different activity areas space to grow and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their work within our ambitious and supportive team.

We are now recruiting for a new Events & Community Executive to join the frontline of our fundraising stewardship, so strong relationship skills and a love of creating great supporter experiences are essential. A big part of the role will be project managing fundraising activities which will require a proactive approach and an eagerness to learn, as well as some experience of leading a project yourself in the past.

Examples of projects include the Walk 100 Miles in May, Cycle 300 Miles in June and 12 Dips in December, but you will work on a variety of activities with the team – sharing learnings and supporting each other to hit our shared goals. You will receive the training and support you need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Event management and delivery

· Lead the delivery of the fundraising activities you are working on – monitoring objectives, budgets and the bigger picture to ensure that opportunities are seized and risks are minimised.

· Create and follow action plans for your projects, taking responsibility for processes and the delivery of tasks on time.

· Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and third-party organisations.

· Ensure all fundraising activities promote PCR’s brand and have a strong connection to people with prostate cancer.

· Analyse project results based on KPIs & feedback, proactively suggesting changes & improvements.

Stewardship 

· Lead on the delivery of supporter journeys for your projects, providing a high level of stewardship which motivates our fundraisers to raise more and remain loyal supporters of PCR.

· Lead on relationship management as required for the fundraising activities you are working on.

· Carry out stewardship tasks using tools like Mailchimp, GivePanel, JustGiving & Funraisin, for which training will be provided.

· Use feedback & data to spot opportunities for the constant improvement of fundraisers’ experience with PCR.

Marketing and recruitment

· Work with the team to create effective marketing plans and lead on their implementation to meet acquisition targets.

· Create recruitment assets which are tailored by a good understanding of our audiences.

· With the support of the team, track and analyse marketing performance to proactively suggest improvements.

Administration and database

· Oversee stock management via our fulfilment house and ensure we have high quality fundraising merchandise.

· Carry out participant data processing, income processing and budget management tasks as required – including coding, database administration, supplier payments, and income & expenditure tracking.

· Ensure your fundraising activities are delivered in line with fundraising law & regulations, and with PCR’s policies.

Strategy and development

· Always have an eye on new opportunities and ideas to inject into your projects, taking a test & learn approach.

· Contribute to team strategy and budgeting, working with the team to create exciting plans.

· Lead on relevant projects to improve how we do things – from stewardship & content, to processes & compliance.

· Be proactive in your personal development and look for opportunities to learn – with lots of support from your manager!

Teamwork
