The role is based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital along with some working from the Victim Support office in Old Street and some home working.

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You may work within a Hospital Trust's Safeguarding Team to support both patients and staff in an Acute Hospital setting, who have experienced Domestic Abuse. You will make initial contact with victims of domestic abuse, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess risks and needs using evidence-based checklists.
• Focus on high-risk cases with short to medium-term crisis intervention.
• Assist high-risk victims in accessing safety services.
• Deliver tailored support and information.
• Understand legal frameworks for protecting children and vulnerable adults.
• Provide advocacy on legal, housing, health, and financial options.
• Empower clients to recognize domestic abuse dynamics.
• Participate in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC).
• Work with a team to deliver respectful, dignified, and sensitive services.

About You

Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding of benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.

About the role

This role is office based in Rochdale Police Station and the ideal candidate will be based 3 days per week with Victim Support and a couple of days with external agencies who deliver direct support to children.

As an IDVA you will:

• provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence & abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
• work with survivors to ensure they have on-going support to manage their safety

Key tasks will include:

• Identify & assess risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk checklist.
• Focus on & prioritise high risk cases providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with high risk victims of domestic abuse assisting them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Empowering clients to recognise the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Providing long-term support to victims of domestic violence & abuse, who's ex partners are attending the Drive perpetrator programme.

You will need

• A good understanding of domestic abuse & its impact.
• To understand risk assessment, safety planning & risk management for victims of domestic abuse
• Knowledge of Safeguarding & legal responsibilities relating to this.
• Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse.
• Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.

We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join Alzheimer’s Society as a Local Services Manager for Norfolk and Suffolk. In this role, you’ll provide leadership and oversight for locally commissioned dementia support services, ensuring they are high-quality, person-centred, and responsive to local need. You’ll work closely with partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector, using insight and lived experience to shape service delivery and continuous improvement.

This is a home-based role, with regular travel across Norfolk and Suffolk, and occasional travel across the wider region for meetings, engagement activity and partnership working. Mileage expenses will be paid from the Norfolk and Suffolk border.

About the role

As a Support and Wellbeing Advisor at SSAFA’s Glasgow’s Helping Heroes, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, person centred support to the Armed Forces Community across Glasgow and surrounding areas. You will provide advice, practical support, and casework, ensuring each beneficiary receives tailored support that meets their individual needs. You will promote inclusion, remove barriers, and improve access to services.

From triaging new enquiries to managing a varied caseload, you will be at the frontline of our work with Armed Forces community, including their families. You will build and maintain strong working relationships through regular liaison with external partners, including Glasgow City Council, other local authorities, and GP practices. You will also support the planning and delivery of social and resilience building projects. Outreach is delivered through external clinics across the city to extend reach and strengthen community engagement.

A key part of the role involves securing funding to support beneficiaries with household goods, essential food and energy costs, and debt related support.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will develop experience in multi agency working, safeguarding, and crisis intervention, while strengthening your skills in case management and project delivery. About the team

The team is based in a dog friendly office at the Pearce Institute in Govan, Glasgow, with the option to work remotely one day per week after probation. GHH is a partnership between SSAFA and Glasgow City Council, delivering trusted support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families during times of need.

Our approach is trauma-informed and focused on delivering intense, holistic wraparound support. This means addressing not only housing needs but also the wider challenges that impact stability, such as mental health, financial wellbeing, and social inclusion. Every intervention is designed to reduce risk, build resilience, and empower beneficiaries to sustain long-term housing solutions.

The GHH team works closely with key partners. These include Glasgow City Homeless Casework Teams, Citizens Advice Scotland, Veterans Housing Scotland, Erskine Veterans Village, Scottish Veterans Residences, and Defence Medical Welfare Services. You also attend stakeholder events out with office hours.

About you

Department background

The Debt Advice Team at Toynbee Hall provides crucial support to individuals and families struggling with financial burdens. Funded by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), this team delivers expert guidance and practical solutions to help clients manage and reduce their debt. 

Scope of Role

The Traineeship will last for 12 months. This role involves gaining practical experience by observing and participating in interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The role includes structured classroom-based learning, supervised practice, and mandatory secondments across partner advice agencies in London.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accurate, Effective, and Individually Tailored Advice

Work under supervision to observe and learn how to provide effective debt advice, including interviewing clients, researching options, and empowering clients to make informed decisions. 

2. Detailed Case Records

Assist in maintaining detailed case records, ensuring all work meets auditing and quality standards, and meets funder requirements. 

3. Training and Development

Complete a structured training programme within the six-month period, covering technical debt advice, client management, and financial regulations. During the initial training period, trainees will be expected to attend intensive classroom-based training and supervised learning activities four to five days per week. Additional training will be based on shadowing, on-site learning, tests, external training courses, etc.

4. Teamwork

Be an active member of the team, identifying opportunities for your development and contributing to collective goals. 

5. Travel

Travel across London is required, including attendance at partner organisations, advice sites, and mandatory secondment placements across London boroughs.

Following the initial training period, the role will require a minimum of four days per week working from Toynbee Hall or partner office locations. One additional working day from home may be agreed where there is a suitable home-working environment and this aligns with operational requirements.

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to provide quality support to children and young people who are victims and survivors of sexual violence. You will be responsible for completing comprehensive initial needs and risk assessments, developing and delivering personalised safety and support plans for clients, many of whom have additional vulnerabilities and have complex needs.

You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Police, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.

To be successful in this role you will need to be approachable, flexible and caring, demonstrating empathy at all times. You will have had lengthy experience of direct service delivery (casework) with people with complex needs (ideally with children) and will have a good understanding of the impact of sexual violence offences on victims and survivors and of safeguarding issues. You will also have an excellent understanding of and commitment to the promotion of equal opportunities and diversity.

IT literacy is a must and candidates must evidence both the ability to use bespoke packages and excellence in their recording practice. If you do not possess an ISVA accreditation, we will fund this learning as it essential for the role. The role also requires enhanced DBS and police vetting.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
