About the role:

Key areas of responsibility:

• Be the technical expert for the HRIS providing support and coaching to colleagues and new users, reporting any required fixes, testing and support continuous development of the HRIS.

• Ensure data integrity through the use and creation of validation reports to identify and correct issues, errors and anomalies in relation to post, employee, pay and reporting lines.
• Cleanse, prepare and analyse people related data to support the production of the People Management Reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Background Information

Spitfire Advice & Support Services (Birmingham) Limited is not-for-profit organisation that offers help, information and support to clients from the most excluded communities.  We are currently funded to deliver our services in Castle Vale Ward and all the Sutton Coldfield post codes. Other funding we have enables the delivery of a number of projects that support our client’s including our Money Advice and Financial inclusion programmes.

Our Money Advice Caseworkers’ support clients who are affected by welfare reforms and have complex welfare benefits and debt issues. The appointee will need to have extensive experience of Legal Services Commission casework in the context of the Advice Quality Standard and will have worked in a target driven environment but who will also understand that people will always be our priority.

Essential Qualifications:

a)Educated to degree or equivalent level or have demonstrable work experience in the delivery of debt and benefit advice.

b)Hold either an IMA (Institute of Money Advisers) qualification or have recent GGDA (Giving Good Debt Advice) training.

Job Purpose

The key purpose of the role is to deliver a first-class specialist debt and money advice service to clients in need of support. ensuring income maximisation for all clients through the take up of appropriate welfare benefits.

We use a digital case managment system which enables hybrid working to function smoothly.

Case Workers Core Duties (extracte from the full Job Description for the role)

a) The delivery to AQS standard of the core Money Advice Service. This may be via telephone, MS Teams, email or face to face

b) The provision of advocacy and court representation at tribunals or other statutory bodies as appropriate.

c) Taking client instructions; this may include but is not limited to; drafting letters/emails to the client and third parties, preparing financial statements and negotiating with third parties.

d) Ensuring income maximisation through the take up of appropriate welfare benefits.

e) Working to targets to ensure that we meet all our contractual obligations.

f) Managing own caseload, opening and closing cases appropriately and carrying out reviews as required by AQS and the Head of Advice

g)  The support, with other team members/volunteers, of the delivery of the service on an outreach basis if required.

h) Maintain accurate case and client records using our digital case management system and for purpose of continuity of client casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and reporting preparation to AQS standards.

i) Ensuring that all casework meets AQS standards and complies with Money Advice Team Procedural Manual.

j) The maintenance of records and other data ensuring that it is up to date and accurate; either paper records (as required by Tribunal cases) or on our digital casework management system.

k) Ensuring that all confidential information is managed in line with the company’s Confidentiality Policy and GDPR Policy.

This is one of two District Property Secretary roles in North West England Methodist District, who will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property. Using their knowledge of land and buildings, and their use and maintenance, in addition to knowledge of governance in the Methodist church context, the postholders will ensure a coherent and holistic approach to property across the District. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide advice to churches and circuits on property-related matters

Work with colleagues, including ministers and lay members of the circuits and churches within the District, to maximise utilisation of property and land across the District for mission and income generation, in line with Connexional property strategy

- Support with selling properties

- Collaborate with colleagues on seeking alternative opportunities for mission or income generation

- Provide guidance on potential grant opportunities

Provide support with the instruction of professional advisors and contractors and liaise with surveyors as necessary

Provide advice and support to ensure projects are delivered effectively and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation

Support the management of the consents process

- Advise the consent giving body of the District regarding property projects and the feasibility of District grants

- Provide support on the use of the online consents system

- Oversee the submission of annual returns

Provide oversight of quinquennial inspections

- Ensure inspections are undertaken in a timely manner

- Ensure action points are followed up

- Collate copies of returns

To assist in the development and continual review of the District Development Plan for property

Ensure work is in line with the requirements of relevant bodies and legislation

- The Methodist Standing Orders and Connexional Team (including as a member of the Connexional Property Group)

- Maintain the District relationship with TMCP and action any correspondence as required

Report at District Policy Committee/Synod as required   

NWED covers the geographical areas of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. 

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

About the role:

This role is a hybrid post and your location will be Dyfed Powys Police Headquarters in Carmarthen.
As a Triage & Early Intervention Officer you will:

• Directly support victims affected by crime & ensure the provision of tailored one-to-one support

JOB OVERVIEW

Do you have a passion for advocating for vulnerable people, helping clients access their welfare entitlements and fighting homelessness? If so, this is an exciting opportunity for you to take the next step in your career by joining the Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS) as our Welfare and Housing Adviser for Haringey borough.

BIAS’s welfare and housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex issues, including disability benefits, pensions, Universal Credit, Irish passports, homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, welfare or housing to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the establishment, expansion and day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service in Haringey borough, providing specialist advice on welfare and housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients and partners, an aptitude for working independently, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met. You will work with the Advice Services Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
• Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
• Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
• Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements. 
• Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
• Staying up to date with developments in welfare benefits and housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive policy change, together with the Advice Services Manager.

These are the basic duties required of the Welfare and Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice venues in  Haringey[1], with some presence required at our main office in Willesden and some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-Friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

As Policy Officer you'll use your expertise to influence change on key areas, including housing, household costs and income. You'll investigate complex policy areas and translate these into engaging and accessible content for reports and briefings to build a compelling evidence base to directly impact national policy. You will conduct vital qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring our policy positions are robust and informed by real-life experiences, speaking directly to older people in financial hardship. You will also have opportunities to work with a range of external stakeholders to develop and advocate for our key policy calls. 

You will have experience of conducting research and producing high-quality written analysis, with excellent written and verbal skills to effectively tailor information for different audiences. You will be able to apply your existing understanding of public policy, policymaking processes and advocacy to create positive change. You'll need experience of building strong working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Above all, you will have a genuine passion for our cause!

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9-day fortnight. We also are open to this role being worked on a part-time basis on a minimum of 28 hours per week. It is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

As the Transition and Recovery Service Team Manager you will oversee the Behavior change, and RISE Teams.

Our Behaviour Change programmes support individuals of any gender or sexual orientation who identify themselves as engaging in harmful behaviours in their relationships and are seeking support to end that harm. They may refer themselves or be referred by a professional.  Service Users may have possible engagement with Social Services, Police, Integrated Offender Management (Male only) or Probation where domestic abuse has been identified.

The RISE service provides focused support to those impacted by Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking, including people with harmful behaviors, to access education, training, employment or volunteering

As Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a psychologically safe and supportive environment for staff working in emotionally demanding roles. You will lead with empathy and integrity, ensuring team members feel heard, valued, and empowered to raise concerns without fear. Through regular supervision, reflective practice, and wellbeing initiatives, you will promote resilience and mental health, enabling staff to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic abuse.

You will support teams to deliver consistently excellent support to people using our services, ensuring contract compliance, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a changing landscape.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of working from home and office (Wiltshire or Devon). A driving license and willingness to travel across Wiltshire, Devon and Gloucestershire (for internal and multi-agency meetings and other deliverables) is therefore essential.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide leadership, direction and support to the Behaviour change practitioners and RISE Advisors including leading in recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring excellent management of the team delivering domestic abuse support to high-risk service users.
• On a day-to-day basis oversee the performance of the Behaviour change & RISE Team, acting as the main point of contact for the staff.
• To line manage the team of Behaviour change practitioners and RISE Advisors, providing case management supervision, line management support, allocation of cases and ensuring all staff are supported to meet their full potential.
• To continue the development of the Behaviour Change practitioners and RISE Advisors into a cohesive and supportive team, through the use of open communication, team meetings and coaching. This will include developing the specialist IDVA roles including Mental Health and Health IDVA’s.
• Play an active role in supporting the relevant MATAC process, including attending MATAC Management meetings.
• Additionally, to support the MARAC process and wider information sharing with statutory partners.
• Ensure the Behaviour change & RISE Team works to accreditation standards.
• To promote a culture of engagement, improvement and best practice within the Behaviour change & RISE Team, to deliver a high quality and accessible service.
• To develop and maintain a culture and systems that promote trauma informed practice and equality within the Behaviour change & RISE Team, valuing diversity and offering empathy to victims of abuse, people who cause harm and violence.
• To lead on reporting outcomes linked to the Behaviour change & RISE Team and the support of people who cause harm and RISE service users.
• Carefully monitor and evaluate the performance of the Behaviour change & RISE Team, with a focus on quality assurance.
• Proactively build relationships with the wider statutory and voluntary partners across FearFree services, with a focus on supporting high risk adult victims of domestic abuse.
• Actively network across the operating area to build the charity’s reputation and harness support for the organisation.
