Job description

Working Well is a specialist employment charity working in London.  All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with austism/aspergers, mental health, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training, supporting people to become more independent and to gain employment.

We are recruiting for a part time Employment Support Worker to cover maternity leave in the Supported Employment Service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.  The contract will be for 12 months.

The Employment Support Worker post involves:

  • supporting people affected by Autism/Aspergers issues in to competitive employment
  • signposting to support services and agencies to increase independence and employability
  • working directly with employers to meet job targets
  • provide support to clients to increase independence and wellbeing

We work with clients to identify their employment needs and then actively support them to achieve their employment goals, often engaging employers directly to secure jobs.  We focus on people’s strengths and potential, working with clients who want to find work regardless of their experience level and background.

Experience of employment support is desirable but more important than that experience is that you share our commitment to supporting people to find the right job for them, increasing their independence and wellbeing.  You will work closely with clinical teams, providing a coordinated approach that always remains client led.  You will also be in working to targets whilst maintaining a high-quality service.

Please add your personal statement to the end of your CV as you will only be able to upload one document. The personal statement should set out how your experience meets the requirements of the job description and person specification.

The deadline for applications is Monday 16 March at 9am.  An initial short-list will be compiled and selected candidates will be contacted on Wednesday 18th for a screening interview. Formal interviews will be held the following week.

We may bring the closing date forward if we receive enough quality applications before that date so please apply early.

Staff benefits include an employer contribution to a personal or workplace pension equivalent to 6% of gross salary.  30 days annual leave plus paid public holidays.

Working Well Trust is a confident about disabilities employer.
