Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

What we need from you

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Chair of Trustees - The Family Place Foundation

We are recruiting a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage of our charity’s development.

Location: Remote, with occasional in‑person trustee meetings (typically once or twice a year) held in the Clyro/Herefordshire area.

Time commitment: Approximately 1–2 days per month. This includes six trustee meetings a year, occasional ad‑hoc discussions and light‑touch support between meetings (for example reviewing policies or responding to emails).

We raise funds to provide support to adopted, fostered and kinship care children and their families to improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and reduce the impact of early trauma. In collaboration with leading UK practitioners, we support the delivery of a range of services providing essential therapeutic care and family support that isn’t covered by statutory funding. Services offered include Family Activity Days, Specialist Clinical Workshops, Advisory Consultations and Family Respite Camps. We also work to raise awareness of the challenges faced by children who cannot live with their birth families. We are now seeking a Chair of Trustees to help guide the charity through its next stage of development, including shaping our emerging Family Foundations project, a significant new early‑years initiative for the charity, alongside our ongoing portfolio of funded projects delivered through our specialist partner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated Board and a small operational support team who care deeply about the families we serve and the long‑term sustainability of the organisation.

The charity is currently led by a Board of four trustees, supported by two part‑time operational staff and a small group of volunteers.

As Chair, you will provide leadership to the Board, ensure effective governance, and help the charity continue enabling the delivery of high‑quality, trauma‑informed support. You will work closely with the trustees and operational colleagues to help shape strategy, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the charity remains compliant, resilient, and focused on its mission. You will also play a key role in strengthening the charity’s governance and fundraising, which in turn enables the therapeutic delivery carried out by our specialist partner. 

A supportive handover will be provided to ensure a smooth and confident transition into the role.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Warmth, clarity and good judgement, with a balanced, proportionate approach to governance.

• A genuine commitment to improving the lives of adopted, fostered and kinship care children and an understanding of the challenges faced by families affected by early trauma.

• Confidence in chairing discussions, helping the Board reach clear, well‑considered decisions.

• An understanding of good governance, including risk, safeguarding and compliance (or a willingness to learn).

• The ability to work collaboratively with trustees and our small operational support team, offering encouragement and constructive challenge while supporting the charity’s governance and fundraising role, which enables the specialist delivery work carried out by our partner.

• Strategic thinking, with the ability to help shape the charity’s direction and ensure long‑term sustainability.

• Reliability, integrity and a calm, steady approach, keeping the charity’s purpose at the centre of decision‑making.

• Meets the eligibility requirements to serve as a charity trustee, as set out by the Charity Commission.

Helpful but not essential:

• Experience of chairing a board or committee

• Experience in charity governance, education, social care, therapeutic work, or community leadership would be helpful, but we are open to a wide range of backgrounds.

• Lived or professional experience related to adoption, fostering, trauma or family support.

Volunteer Prospect Researcher
This role supports our fundraising efforts by identifying and researching potential UK donors, funders, and partners. Responsibilities include online research, data analysis, and preparing prospect profiles to support strategic fundraising.

1. Working alongside your allocated outreach development officer in the facilitation of British Liver Trust patient support groups.

2. Setting up and facilitating both online and face to face support groups as agreed with your allocated outreach development officer.

3. Act as a point of contact for patients attending your allocated support groups.

4. Engaging with patients and families affected by liver disease through peer mentoring to inspire hope, build confidence and help people self- manage their condition.

5. Acting as a peer mentor supporting new individuals who are joining our support services.

Volunteer Animal Fosterer

Could you give an animal a safe place to stay while they wait for their forever home?

Opening your home to a foster animal can transform their life. By temporarily caring for a cat, rabbit, guinea pig or other small animal, you will give them the security, attention and affection they need while they prepare for adoption.

Some animals simply need a comfortable temporary home. Others may need help building their confidence, recovering from treatment or becoming accustomed to family life. Whatever their circumstances, the care you provide will support their wellbeing, improve their socialisation and help us understand the type of permanent home in which they will thrive.

You will not be doing this alone. Our team will guide you through the fostering process and provide training, ongoing support, equipment, food and veterinary care. We can also reimburse other expenses agreed with us in advance.

What you will be doing

While an animal is in your care, you will:

• Provide suitable accommodation and a safe, comfortable environment in accordance with our guidance.

• Feed, provide fresh water and groom the animal as advised.

• Spend time helping them feel safe, settled and loved.

• Observe their behaviour and wellbeing, keeping in touch with our animal welfare team.

• Give any agreed medication or support their rehabilitation, where appropriate.

• Transport them to routine or emergency veterinary appointments when required.

• Help us promote the animal and share what you have learnt about their personality, so we can find the right permanent home for them.

• Provide plenty of appropriate play, enrichment and, when they are ready, cuddles!

Who we are looking for

This role may be right for you if:

• You are aged 18 or over and have good experience of caring for animals.

• Everyone in your household is comfortable with welcoming a foster animal into your home.

• You have the time, patience and commitment to care for an animal whose needs may change.

• You live within the area covered by our Branch, as shown on the accompanying map.

• You can collect supplies from our Eastcote office and transport your foster animal to veterinary appointments, including urgent appointments when necessary.

• Any animals already living in your home have been spayed or neutered. We understand that this may not always be possible for medical reasons, so please talk to us if this applies to you.

Previous fostering experience is helpful but not essential. We will provide the training and support you need.

All our voluntary roles are subject to an informal interview and an initial trial period. We will ask you to provide details of two referees. Depending on the role and the animals you will foster, you may also need to complete specific training and sign a volunteer agreement before you begin.

The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA UK) is a charity and independent campaigning organisation established in 1984. We pioneered undercover investigations to combat environmental crime and abuse. We use evidence and analysis to bring about lasting policy and changes to legislation to protect our planet, its biodiversity, climate and all who live here.

EIA UK is seeking two volunteers to support the Intelligence & Investigations (I&I) team ideally 1-2 days a week and for a minimum of 3 months, with research and data entry.

The I&I team undertakes strategic and intelligence-led activities in cooperation with the Campaign team to act and tackle illegal trade in wildlife parts and derivatives. We are looking for support to update and maintain the Global Environmental Crime Tracker- a publicly accessible database charting wildlife crime seizures, prosecutions and convictions. Volunteers with a keen eye for detail and appetite for data are encouraged to apply and should have an interest in the environment, a passion for conservation and share the aims of EIA.

Do you have what it takes to be an EIA Volunteer?

What is the time commitment?

Would you like to help tackle loneliness, one conversation at a time?

Loneliness and isolation can have devastating effects on a person’s mental and physical health. We are a registered charity providing a pathway of support to alleviate the hurt and distress, and the impact on mental and physical health, caused by loneliness and social isolation. 

The aim of face-to-face Individual Support is to provide in-person supportive social contact for people who are hurt by loneliness.

Volunteers support Friends (people who use our services) on a one-to-one basis. After completing training, volunteers will be linked with a Friend who they will phone for around one hour every two weeks. This is arranged at a mutually convenient time. 

We ask volunteers to think of this as a longer term volunteer role due to the training and time we take in order to give our volunteers, and Friends, the very best service. You will also need to consider occasional time spent in training for your role and for continuous development. 

For all our roles:

Due to our Safeguarding regulations, unfortunately we are only able to accept applications from UK residents. 

Enhanced DBS checks for working with vulnerable adults (formerly called criminal records bureau checks)  which we will organise (no cost to this) and two references are required.

For any roles involving driving Archway Friends, we will need to see evidence of insurance and driving license as well as MOT and tax documents for the vehicle to be used.

We will happily cover out of pocket expenses (eg mileage or costs for coffee out with Archway Friend).

Coempowered is a small, volunteer-led organisation creating inclusive spaces for philosophical inquiry, critical thinking and collaborative learning. We work particularly with Persian- and Kurdish-speaking communities, including young people and adults affected by inequality, displacement and limited access to education.

We are looking for a reliable and self-motivated Social Media Content Producer who can take ownership of this area of work. You will collaborate with directors, facilitators and other volunteers, while being confident planning and progressing tasks independently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing a practical social media strategy

• Creating and maintaining a content calendar

• Planning, designing, writing and publishing at least one weekly post on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn

• Producing blog and website content when required

• Creating graphics and templates using Canva or similar tools

This is a fully remote role requiring approximately 5–7 hours per week. Attendance at online onboarding, weekly meetings and relevant training is required.

As our team is small and we are working to grow the organisation, reliability is essential. We need someone who communicates their availability clearly, plans ahead, gives reasonable notice of delays or absences, and follows through on agreed responsibilities.

The role would suit someone with experience in social media, content writing or basic graphic design who wants to take the lead on a meaningful communications project and help an emerging organisation strengthen its public presence.

We’re looking for three Support Group Volunteer over the age of 18 years old, based in Scotland.

You’ll be volunteering fortnightly Thursday between 10:30am and 11:30am plus additional time for volunteer team meetings and training.

As a support group volunteer, you will help with the running of the group. The role is designed to suit the needs of the group, and the skills of people offering support. If you enjoy getting to know your community, working with others and making a real difference then this is the role for you.

As our Google Ad Grants Specialist, you will play a critical role in expanding the reach of Solution Community's mission through strategic management of our Google Ad Grants account. • Manage Google Ad Grants Campaigns: Create, monitor, and optimize search campaigns utilizing our $10,000/month Google Ad Grants budget.
• Increase Mission Visibility: Develop keyword strategies and compelling ad copy that drive awareness, engagement, volunteer recruitment, nonprofit partnerships, and donor interest.
• Optimize Performance: Monitor campaign metrics including impressions, click-through rates, conversions, and quality scores to maximize impact and maintain grant compliance.
• Ensure Grant Compliance: Maintain adherence to Google Ad Grants policies and best practices to keep the account active and performing effectively.
• Conduct Keyword Research: Identify high-impact search opportunities that align with our mission, programs, and global initiatives.
