Volunteer Co-Director / Community Arts Partner

Help shape the future of an ambitious community arts CIC in Brighton

House of Culture Brighton C.I.C. is looking for a passionate, proactive and entrepreneurial person to join us as a Volunteer Co-Director / Community Arts Partner.

House of Culture is a creative arts and wellbeing organisation providing accessible opportunities for children and young people through art clubs, home education, holiday programmes, and workshops.

We are at an exciting stage of development, but currently, our founder Kinga Hofman manages almost everything herself: the physical studio, programmes and sessions, administration, finances, marketing, fundraising, partnerships and future planning.

We need someone to help build the organisation with us.

This is not a traditional volunteering role. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership, bring their own ideas and become a genuine partner in developing the CIC.

You could help with:

• Marketing, communications and social media

• Administration and report writing

• Invoicing, budgeting and financial planning

• Researching grants and supporting funding applications

• Developing partnerships and new opportunities

• Planning ahead and helping shape future programmes

• Studio logistics and day-to-day organisation

• Developing sustainable income and growth strategies

We are particularly interested in someone with strengths in business, project management, marketing, fundraising, finance, or operations within community/arts organisations.

Most importantly, you will be proactive, reliable, organised and genuinely excited by the opportunity to help build something meaningful.

What we can offer:

This is initially a voluntary role, as House of Culture C.I.C. does not currently have the resources to guarantee a salary.

We would suggest an initial two month trial period, after which we would review the partnership together. Our aim would be to secure funding and develop a sustainable paid role where possible, but we cannot guarantee future paid employment.

In return, you will have genuine influence over the development of a growing community arts organisation, the opportunity to take ownership of projects and build valuable experience in running and developing a CIC.
