About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our team as a Charity Support Officers. This is a flexible position where you can tailor your contribution by choosing the area that best suits your skills and interests:

• Events Support – Help plan, coordinate, and deliver charity events, including fundraising initiatives and community engagement activities.
• Policy Review – Support the review, updating, and development of internal policies to ensure compliance and best practice in governance.
• Performance Management – Contribute to monitoring and evaluating our projects, analysing outcomes, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Social Media Strategy – Assist in shaping and delivering our online presence, developing engaging content, and growing digital reach.

Key Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Volunteer Email Marketing & Retention Manager will play a key role in helping the organisation strengthen audience engagement, community retention, and long-term supporter relationships through strategic email communication and retention-focused campaigns.

You will be responsible for developing and managing email marketing strategies that nurture members, supporters, podcast listeners, and community participants while encouraging deeper engagement with the organisation’s mission and activities.

This role requires creativity, organisation, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and a passion for meaningful community-building and advocacy.

About the Role

The Volunteer Email Marketing & Retention Manager will:

• Develop and manage email marketing campaigns

• Create engaging newsletters, updates, and community communications

• Build retention strategies that strengthen audience connection and participation

• Support onboarding journeys for new members and subscribers

• Help nurture long-term relationships with supporters and community members

• Segment email audiences for targeted communication

• Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements

• Collaborate with content, outreach, SEO, and production teams

• Support launches, campaigns, events, and membership engagement initiatives

This role requires someone who can combine storytelling, communication, and strategy to build meaningful relationships with audiences while supporting the organisation’s growth and mission.

Volunteer Role: Community Group Volunteer

Location: Across Wales

Frequency: A few hours once a month

Reporting to: Adoption Community Manager

Safeguarding: Enhanced DBS

Community groups are facilitated face to face or virtual meetings/events run by community group coordinators who are volunteers. The groups are run to offer local networking, support, information, advice, guidance and a sense of community for adoption UK members.

The role of a community group coordinator is to plan, organise, facilitate and network meeting and events both face to face and virtually for local adoption UK members. 

The groups are open to prospective adopters/ adopters awaiting a match and adopters with children. Meet ups are often held monthly although the frequency is dependent on the availability of the community group coordinator. 

What you will be doing   

·Plan dates for the community group meetings.

·Inform the Community officer and manager so the admin and booking link can be created for the group.

·Attend the group meetings, welcome the attendees, remind everyone at the start of the meeting about safeguarding and confidentiality, chair the meeting and provide a listening ear and potential signposting to the attendees.

·Ensure Adoption UK’s safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.

·After the meeting, send an attendance list to staff at Adoption UK.
