If you have previous experience in a board level role and have a clinical background, we have an exciting opportunity for you…

What does the Clinical Trustee role involve? 

As our Clinical Trustee, you will provide expert clinical oversight and strategic counsel to the Board of Trustees. Working closely with the Medical Director and senior clinical leaders, you will support the development of our long‑term clinical strategy, uphold high clinical standards, and ensure strong clinical governance across regulated and unregulated settings.

You will also chair the Clinical Advisory Group and serve as a member of the Risk and Assurance Committee, ensuring robust oversight of clinical quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

This is a pivotal role at an exciting moment for St John Ambulance as we expand our impact and continue to strengthen our ability to deliver high‑quality care in communities across England.

What We’re Looking For

You will be a registered healthcare professional (GMC, NMC or HCPC) currently in clinical practice, with strong experience of clinical leadership at trust or corporate level

Is this role for me? 

• A current professional registration and active clinical practice.
• An understanding of the realities of delivering healthcare outside traditional settings and bring sound judgement, strategic insight, and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience at Board level or as a charity trustee.
• Experience of clinical governance and improving clinical quality.
• Ability to work effectively with volunteers in a complex organisation.

This is a voluntary role, and the term of office is three years in the first instance, with a further three-year term by mutual agreement.

The Branch Chair role is vital to the running of the branch as they act as a leader and a coordinator for the branch. Without these roles, we would not have as many branches as we do.

What you will be doing

• Planning, arranging, and chairing committee meetings and public meetings.
• Along with other committee members, representing the branch at external meetings e.g. with local services for autistic people.
• Delegating tasks to other committee members or volunteers
• Raising the profile of the NAS within your branch and local community.
• Ensuring your branch complies with NAS policies including risk assessment, data protection and safeguarding
• Monitoring branch income and expenditure in partnership with the treasurer and authorising branch payments
• Supporting fundraising in your branch
• Co-ordinating and promoting local campaigns and bringing others on board to help you
• Keeping your Senior Branch Engagement Officer informed about branch activities and events
• Overseeing the moderation of the branch online support group / forum
• Liaising with newsletter editor on contents and production of bi-monthly newsletter
• Motivating the team involved in running your branch
• Trying to resolve any difficulties experienced by your branch
• (NB In the case of Co-Chairs, the above tasks would be shared between the two)

What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

This role is flexible and designed to fit around your other commitments. You’ll be part of a friendly team raising vital funds — and having fun along the way.

Bookkeeper

Agnes Youth and Family Center is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable bookkeeper to support our growing organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, organizing transactions, tracking income and expenses, and helping ensure our bookkeeping systems are up to date. The Bookkeeper will work closely with our CPA board member to support financial oversight. 

Responsibilties 

• Maintain accurate nonprofit financial records and enter donations, grants, program income, and expenses into QuickBooks.
• Track and organize restricted and unrestricted funds to support proper nonprofit financial management and reporting.
• Reconcile bank statements, maintain receipts and supporting documentation, and ensure records are audit-ready.
• Work closely with the organization’s CPA board member to strengthen internal controls and support financial oversight.
• Use QuickBooks knowledge and nonprofit bookkeeping best practices to help ensure compliance, transparency, and sustainability.
