As a Fundraising Officer, you'll play a key role in helping North West First Responder Group secure the funding needed to support Community First Responders and improve community resilience across the North West.

What you'll do

As a Fundraising Officer, you may:

• Organise and support fundraising events within your local community.

• Help promote our Lifesaver Lottery and regular giving initiatives.

Job Description:

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions.
We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, baby bank, practical & emotional One to One support, Domestic violence groups, Awareness raising workshops and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crises or challenging situations.

Purpose
To manage and grow our social media presence through creative content, audience engagement, and analysing audience engagement to help amplify WFRC’s mission.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Help create, implement, and maintain a social media strategy and content plan
• Use social media platforms to promote the activities, impact, and achievements of WFRC
• Keep social media channels regularly updated with engaging and relevant content
• Encourage audience interaction by increasing comments, shares, and engagement across platforms
• Ensure communications reach a wide range of local stakeholders and diverse audiences
• Develop and manage content for our website and social media platforms, including Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
• Identify and select the most effective channels to engage our diverse audiences
• Stay up to date with WFRC events, projects, and news, identifying key opportunities for promotion across social media channels
• Develop publicity materials and communication approaches to better engage underrepresented communities
• Visit projects and attend events to gather content and write articles or stories for our blog and online platforms
• Manage the organisation, filing, and archiving of photographs, videos, and other digital media content

Qualifications:

• Experience managing social media accounts for a charity, organisation, business, personal project, or student initiative is preferred.
• Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
• Experience using content creation and design tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Creative thinking skills with the ability to develop new ideas, campaigns, and promotional content.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Interest or experience in community work, charities, or social impact initiatives is desirable.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team!

Role Summary

Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative is seeking an experienced Remote Mental Health Program Officer to lead and strengthen our Kyogere ("Say It Out") Mental Health Program. This leadership volunteer role is ideal for a mental health professional who is passionate about advancing community mental health, reducing stigma, and supporting youth wellbeing in underserved communities.
Working remotely, you will provide strategic and technical leadership to our mental health programme, helping design impactful initiatives, guide awareness campaigns, strengthen partnerships, and support the development of community-based mental health interventions.

Key Responsibilities

SarcoidosisUK is looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support the next stage
of our development. We are seeking someone with ambition and strategic experience to continue
the amazing support for those affected by sarcoidosis and drive forward progress to future proof
the Charity. This is a significant voluntary role for someone with strong board or senior governance
experience who can lead the charity and act as ambassador.

About us
SarcoidosisUK is a small charity with big ambitions! We want to make a difference to the lives of
those affected by sarcoidosis in the UK by providing information and support, raising awareness
and undertaking research into treatments and a cure. We currently support over 9,000 people
online and have strong relationships with both clinicians and patients.

The role
The Chair provides leadership to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the Senior Executive
to ensure the charity is well-governed, financially sound, and delivering on its charitable
objectives.

 Leading the Board and helping set the strategic direction of the charity.
 Maintaining a culture that directly reflects the charity’s values and mission.
 Ensuring the Board fulfils its legal, regulatory and compliance responsibilities.

 Acting as a critical friend and line manager to the Senior Executive.
 Ensuring performance, risks and finances are monitored effectively.

 Ideally has first hand or close family experience of sarcoidosis.

Time commitment
This is a voluntary role.
The Board meets online early evening 10 times a year for no more than 2 hours each time and
meetings are friendly and informal. Trustees have a variety of backgrounds and can contribute
time and expertise outside of meetings to supporting the development of the charity.
Regular contact with the Senior Executive and 2 staff as part of operational oversight. The office is
based in London and we have hybrid working.

This role involves supporting at a range of events to help raise money and awareness to tackle the housing emergency. It’s a really flexible opportunity. Once you’re signed up, we’ll let you know about upcoming events and tasks, and you can decide which you’d like to do. 

Location: Lancashire (various)

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! Ideally, you’d help out at least 4-5 times per year, but this is flexible. 

Availability: This is a varied opportunity with events taking place at different times and on different days throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. You can choose the events that best suit your availability.

This role fights the housing emergency by raising funds that enable Shelter to provide advice and support and campaigning for change. The events you’ll be attending are also great for raising awareness of the housing emergency and how people can get involved to help tackle it.

Social Media Volunteer - London 

Do you want to use your social media skills to tackle the housing emergency? 

Information about the role 

You’ll be identifying topics to share, helping develop the communications and then using a range of social media platforms to promote our local services and increase engagement with local and national campaigns.

Location: Shelter Office, 88 Old Street, London

Suggested contribution: 5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months

Availability: Volunteering will take place at a time that suits you, within Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm

Main activities may include: 

• Establishing and/or maintaining active social media accounts for the Shelter London hub. 

• Helping to develop social media communication plans. 

• Creating and sharing content on social media platforms that raises awareness of Shelter’s campaigns and services and helps the local community. 

• Identifying topics to share through communicating with hub teams as well as researching housing related news and issues affecting people locally. 

• Being up to date with social media trends and using them to attract target audiences. 

• Attending events organised by the London hub to gather content to share on social media and/or live posting throughout.

• Monitoring reactions to our posts, including flagging any responses that do not align with our inclusion and Anti-Racism work.

This role fights the housing emergency by promoting awareness of Shelter’s campaigns and services. This means people who need help with housing or homelessness know where to go for support.

Your skills and experience 

We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable using various social media platforms. You don’t need to have professional experience in this area, using them for your personal accounts is just as relevant. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who cares about social justice and fighting the housing emergency. 

Supporting you 

• You will be provided with an induction into your role, access to relevant learning and a copy of our volunteer handbook. 

• The role, including learning and communications, are flexible, so can be tailored so they best suit your needs and preferences.

• You will be able to claim reasonable volunteering expenses in line with Shelter’s volunteer expenses policy. Where financial circumstances would be a barrier to volunteering, we may be able to offer these funds in advance.

• You will be able to access our volunteer support package, including our colleague assistance programme and Shelter’s network of mental health first aiders.

About the role  

As a Peer Support Volunteer you will have lived experience of mental health and support service users on a wide range of non-complex issues that can be easily and quickly resolved. You will bring added skills and experience to our service and add real value to our team. You will provide additional support at our Peer Support group sessions. This could be, for example, by empathising with potential clients about the difficulties that having a mental health problem can create, helping to set up the room, explaining the services that are on offer and how these can be accessed, putting people who are anxious at ease by welcoming them. Peer volunteers can also co-facilitate groups based on personal skills and experience. Ideally, you will be able to commit a minimum of 3 hours per week. 

Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role. 

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for by Rethink Mental Illness. 

As a Peer Support Volunteer you will: 

• Support the Peer Support Workers to run the group sessions e.g. by helping to set up the room and by welcoming people 

• Help to create a safe space where people can share as much or as little as they wish to about their experiences 

• Foster the principles of co-production 

• Signpost people to services in the local area that meets their needs 

• Describe and explain services that are on offer from Rethink Mental Illness and other local community assets that can provide help and advice relevant to people's needs 

• Support the development of drop-in sessions at various locations across the locality 

About the service  

The Empowering Minds Gloucestershire Service currently run group sessions for service users across Gloucestershire. 

Our team is dedicated to delivering a high-quality service that focuses on supporting individuals to achieve their recovery goals. The aim is to improve the lives and support independence for those living with a mental illness. The team will engage with other local providers to ensure a clear and seamless pathway for those that require support from multiple providers.
