56 Chief accountant volunteer roles
How's your job search on our site?
New Citizens’ Gateway (NCG) is looking for three new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the next stage of our development.
NCG is an established refugee and asylum charity providing holistic support to people as they rebuild their lives in the UK. Our services span advice and advocacy, outreach, health and wellbeing, bilingual counselling, English language learning, youth services, volunteering and community support.
This is an exciting time to join NCG. As part of our five-year strategy, we are strengthening our governance and working towards becoming an increasingly client-led organisation, ensuring that the voices and experiences of the people we serve are represented in the decisions that shape our future.
Who are we looking for?
Following a review of the skills currently represented on our Board, we are particularly seeking candidates with expertise in:
- Legal – ideally a legal professional with experience in areas such as charity law, employment law, contracts and commissioning, governance/regulatory matters or immigration and refugee law.
- Finance / Treasurer – someone with strong accounting, finance or senior financial management experience who can provide strategic financial oversight and take on the role of Treasurer.
- Communications & Marketing – someone with strategic experience in communications, marketing, PR, digital, branding, media, public affairs or profile raising.
- Other relevant expertise – please specify – we are also interested in hearing from candidates who bring other skills, professional expertise, community knowledge or perspectives that could strengthen our Board.
Lived experience matters to us
In line with our five-year strategy and our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), we particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of seeking asylum, refugee status, forced migration, migration or rebuilding their lives in a new country.
We see lived experience as a valuable form of knowledge and expertise and want the communities we serve to be increasingly represented within NCG’s leadership and governance.
Previous Trustee experience is not essential. We welcome first-time Trustees and will provide induction and support.
Commitment
Our Board meets six times a year, including the AGM. General Trustees should expect an average commitment of approximately 3–5 hours per month, although this will vary. The Treasurer role requires some additional time for financial oversight.
All Trustee positions are voluntary, with reasonable out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed.
Interested?
If you share our commitment to the rights, wellbeing and inclusion of refugees and people seeking asylum and would like to use your skills and experience to help shape NCG’s future, we would love to hear from you.
Applicants will be asked to submit a CV and complete a short application form explaining why they are interested in joining NCG and the skills, experience and/or lived experience they would bring to the Board.
