Young Roots is a London-based charity supporting young people aged 14–25 who are seeking safety in the UK, many of whom are here alone. Our youth clubs are places of welcome for young people who are isolated, lonely and without family.Our caseworkers make sure young people have everything they need to thrive - somewhere safe to live, a college place, a doctor or a lawyer. And our campaigners are amplifying young people's voices, calling for a fairer, kinder asylum system.

We are now looking for passionate and committed people to join our Board of Trustees. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in:

• Finance (Treasurer)
• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
• Fundraising

This is a chance to bring your expertise to an ambitious organisation delivering life-changing support and campaigning for a more compassionate asylum system. You'll help guide our strategy, strengthen our impact and ensure we are fit for the future.

You don't need previous trustee experience — we'll provide training, support and development. What matters most is your enthusiasm for our mission and your commitment to making a difference.

We strongly encourage applications from people from all backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience of the asylum system and people from communities currently underrepresented in leadership roles.

Commitment: Around 2–4 hours per week, with board meetings every two months (a mix of remote and central London meetings).

Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our volunteer Fundraisers use their organisational and people skills, as well as creativity and a sense of fun, to raise vital funds for their local branch.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch can do a little differently, but it may include the following responsibilities, with potential for additional fundraising opportunities:

· Organising fundraising events big and small

· Identifying and helping to apply for local grants

What you’ll need for this role

· An interest in fundraising – prior experience isn’t a must

· Able to work independently from home

· Willing to attend meetings of your local branch

· A commitment to our aims and values

You’ll also need to complete the induction checklist and a reference check.

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. • Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

Job Description:

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions.

We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, practical & emotional One to One support, Domestic violence groups, Awareness raising workshops and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crises or challenging situations.

Purpose of Volunteer Role

The Women & Families Resource Centre has always relied on the dedication and skills of volunteers to offer practical & emotional support to women & families. As the charity grows, we require volunteers to participate in fundraising roles to help us generate much-needed income to continue to help the numerous families we support every year. We are increasing our community fundraising goals and this is an exciting time to help us grow.

Task Description

Fundraising volunteers will take part in a variety of activities to raise money for WFRC - some planned at the start of the year, and some arising during the year. Activities may include volunteering at our fundraising sales or car boot sales; helping at our fundraising events; doing bucket collections; helping at corporate fundraising events; or working with the grants team to seek material donations.

TVS is a small volunteer-led charity working with rural schools in South Africa to empower vulnerable young people through education. We are recruiting a team of volunteers and are searching for dedicated individuals to support our charity’s digital fundraising efforts.

As a volunteer digital fundraiser you would contribute towards unlocking potential and shaping a brighter future for children living in poverty in South Africa. Your responsibilities would include one or more of the following:

Campaign Development: Planning, delivering, and evaluating digital fundraising campaigns, appeals, and virtual events.

Digital Marketing & Advertising: Managing paid advertising on platforms like Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads to acquire donors.

Content Creation: Writing engaging content for websites, social media, and email marketing, ensuring high-quality, emotive messaging.

Website & Platform Maintenance: Updating online donation pages, using Content Management Systems (CMS), and ensuring tools like JustGiving or Easyfundraising are effective.

• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.

About the role:

As a community champion volunteer you’ll be supporting Sense’s fundraising team, playing a vital role in helping Sense to raise funds and awareness to support people with complex disabilities. 

You’ll engage with individuals, local businesses, and regional press to share our mission, organise events, and inspire others to take action. Whether you’re great at planning events, researching opportunities or connecting with your community, this role has something for you.  

This is a flexible role, with the opportunity to volunteer either virtually or in your local community. We are looking for volunteers able to offer a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month. 

We’re looking for people who are passionate about Sense’s work to support disabled people with complex needs and who have a calm, kind and friendly personality.

Please note that you will not be providing care for the people Sense supports as part of this role.

Due to the nature of the volunteer role, we cannot accept applications for anyone under the age of 18.

The four areas of the role:

As a Community Champion, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, organised into four main role categories. You can choose to get involved in one or more of these areas, and we’ll discuss your preferences with you as part of the application process. Please note, we don’t expect volunteers to take on every area. Instead, we’ll focus on what interests you most and shape the role around your strengths and skills.

Event volunteer:

Support Sense’s Community Fundraising team by:

• Organising your own fundraising events in aid of Sense.
• Supporting and participating in fundraising events at your local Sense services, and shops.
• Supporting with fundraising admin, for example sourcing prizes for Sense fundraisers.

Skills needed:

• Creative, with fresh fundraising ideas and enthusiasm.
• Organised, with the ability help co-ordinate multiple aspects of an event.

Local public relations (PR) volunteer:

Boost Sense’s profile in your local community by:

• Writing content for local press releases.
• Building a network of local media contacts.
• Supporting regional output of national campaigns. 

Skills needed:

• Strong written communication
• Able to follow branding and messaging guidelines.
• Self-motivated and proactive in seeking opportunities. 

Fundraising researcher:

Help boost Sense’s regional income by researching available grants, partnerships and other local connections. Responsibilities include:

• Researching local grants and business partnerships.
• Researching networking events.
• Helping us to source prizes for Sense fundraising events.

Skills needed:

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Organised, ensuring new leads are accurately recorded and shared. 

Community connector:

Act as an ambassador for Sense, attending events across your community to thank supporters, and forge new partnerships.

• Attending cheque presentations, thanking our supporters.
• Giving presentations about Sense to local schools and community groups.
• Engaging with local businesses and groups, to forge new relationships for Sense.

Skills needed:

• Strong communication skills and enjoys public speaking opportunities.
