We are looking to grow our Board of Trustees to help to increase our reach, enhance our profile, spread our message and continue to develop sustainably.

We are seeking Trustees who will bring creative vision champion the role art plays in public cohesion and transforming people’s lives.We would like to recruit up to three new Trustees during 2026, ideally with experience of Finance, Fundraising or Artistic Programming.Arts at the Old Fire Station (AOFS) is known and respected for its values-led approach and passion for social change, and all Trustees are expected to share that commitment.

You will be the architect of our international volunteer programme, building pathways for citizens and supporters across the world to contribute:

• Remotely

• In hybrid roles

As Head of the Volunteer Corps, you will:

• Build and lead our volunteer programme from the ground up

• Recruit, train, and support volunteers across the world

• Shape the culture of service and civic duty within Lys

• Coordinate remote, hybrid and in‑person opportunities

• Help prepare for our 2027 public expansion

• Serve as a guardian of our values: honour, chivalry, creativity, and community

In 2026, we present the latest iteration of SICK! Festival - with Beat One taking place throughout May.

Central to this is our Creative Resuscitation (CPR) model, which shifts us from a biennial, month-long festival to a year-round rhythm of seasonal “beats”. This structure is designed to disrupt unsustainable cycles, deepen relationships, and embed community voice and public outcomes across everything we do.

This festival, under SICK!’s new leadership, marked a pivotal moment in our journey as we deepen our commitment to engaging with pressing societal issues and sparking meaningful conversations.

We are looking to recruit new trustees, including but not limited to, with skills and professional qualifications in finance/accountancy, experience in communications or development and fundraising.

As an organisation, we are committed to ensuring our Board reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We are actively encouraging applications from people facing racism, those who identify as LGBTQIA+, individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds, and those with disabilities. Are you passionate about ensuring young people’s voices are heard to drive meaningful change? 

Would you like to help influence the way England’s histories are told?

The Young Producers programme at English Heritage could be for you! 

We are looking for young people aged 18-24 to join our Young Producers from June 2026.

Our Young Producers are at the heart of English Heritage’s youth participation work. Their ideas, creativity and interests help steer and shape the programme and support other areas of English Heritage activity too. 

As a Young Producer you will: 

• Have your voice heard and influence change at English Heritage 

• Join our monthly meetings where you can meet other young people and contribute to decision making within English Heritage 

• Have the opportunity to take part in various projects – recent ones have included LGBTQ+ History, Black History, heritage careers and improving visitor experience for young people 

• Meet heritage professionals and make connections 

• Gain experience that is useful in a variety of sectors and workplaces, from research skills and public speaking to written communication and content creation

We want to ensure our work is relevant to all young people, and welcome applications from all those aged between 18-24.

We are particularly interested to hear from young people who: 

• Are from a global majority background 

• Identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community 

• Have a disability 

• Are care-experienced 

• Are from low-income backgrounds
