A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Tech Buddies is a project with a huge positive impact on social connectedness and mental health among our older neighbours. The aim of Tech Buddies is to inspire and then support older people to get digitally connected and confident, to stay safe online and to use the internet regularly until they are happy to do so on their own. Together, the Tech Buddy volunteer and learner explore what technology can offer.

Wednesdays and/or Saturdays you’ll be helping members aged 60+ get savvy using their smart phones, tablets, and laptops. You could be helping with anything from sending emails to installing apps.

Qualities you need for this role:

• Tech Buddy volunteers need to be regular users of technology (e.g. computers/tablets/smartphones) with a genuine desire to share your skills and help older people use technology. 

• Warm and friendly, a good listener

• Reliable and dependable (good timekeeper)

• Non-judgmental, patient with a good sense of humour!

• A good communicator who knows their boundaries and has good spoken English

Your Role

Youth Leaders work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By organising a mixed weekly programme, this role will allow you to teach young people how to save lives. Youth Leaders help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be. Together with the team of other Youth Helpers and Youth Leaders, you will deliver activities, sessions, and games, as well as supervise and support young people in your unit.

Cadet and Badger sessions usually run for 1.5-2 hours weekly during term time. We are looking for you to join the unit at least once a month (but we love it when volunteers can join the young people every week).

For a small commitment of your time, you will get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride from knowing that you are delivering an essential service which impacts you, the young people and your community.

Youth Advantage UK is seeking a volunteer Head of Local Operations to lead the launch and on-going delivery of its commissioned research projects in England and Wales. The focus of these projects will be obtaining and analysing primary and secondary data in order to help smaller community organisations improve their ways of working and effectively report on their impact. Role purpose
To deliver high-quality, gender-informed counselling or psychotherapy to adult men experiencing mild to moderate emotional and mental health challenges.

The impact you’ll make
Men face unique barriers and costs when seeking therapy. As a Volunteer Counsellor, you will provide an authentic, male-informed space to help men build healthy alternatives to damaging coping strategies—reducing distress, preventing crisis, and reconnecting men with their communities.

What you will do

• Deliver weekly 1:1 sessions (online or in person).
• Provide an authentic, confidential, and non-judgemental space tailored to each man.
• Maintain short, accurate session records, and organise your sessions, via our practice management software. 
• Adhere to professional ethics and MensCraft policies.
• Promptly raise any safeguarding concerns to the service manager.
• Attend regular supervision and a monthly service meeting.
