As a Supporter Engagement Officer you would have responsibility for one or more of the following:

Stewardship: Thanking donors and demonstrating the impact of their gifts.

Communication: Reaching out to supporters via phone, email, and social media.

Database Management: Updating supporter records and preferences.

Enquiries: Answering questions about donations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Job description

We are looking for Volunteer Charity Retail Assistants to assist in the running of WFRC’s retail shop to maximise sales of new and used goods that help us to generate vital funds to support the vital services that we provide for women and families. You will be providing invaluable help in the operation of our charity shop.

Principal Responsibilities:

• To serve customers and record purchases on the cash register
• To work with staff and other volunteers to sort, steam, hang, ticket and size donated clothing for sale in the shop.
• To help keep the shop clean.
• To assist with shop displays.
• Provide information leaflets and signpost any enquiries for WFRC services
• Comply with WFRC relevant Policies and Procedures
• Wear personal identity badge whilst volunteering
• Represent the professional standards of the charity

Join FARA, a charity with over 30 years of experience and 39 charity shops across London. Our FARA Chiswick Kids shop is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Customer Service and Till Volunteer to help create a welcoming and positive experience for all our customers.

By volunteering with us, you’ll directly support our mission, help promote reuse through donation and recycling, and contribute to a positive experience for our customers and online community.

The Role: 

As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Assisting with stock placement and replenishment on the shop floor
• Creating and maintaining eye-catching and engaging product displays
• Greeting customers and fostering a welcoming atmosphere in the shop
• Assisting customers with queries and providing excellent service
• Operating the till and handling transactions
• Staying informed about products and current promotions

About the role: 

This volunteer role involves providing information, support and advice, particularly around welfare benefits and housing to Carers through one-to-one case work.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

• Deliver one – to – one appointments regarding benefits 

• Deliver telephone appointments where required

• To refer or signpost Carers to specialist staff or services where required 

• Provide information to newly registered Carers about WCC services 

• Maintain up to date database records for Carers linked with the Centre 

• Maintain the information system under the guidance of the Centre staff 

Essential Requirements Include: 

• Experience of, or ability to provide one to one support, information, advice and advocacy, including welfare benefits. 

• Developed IT skills 

• Ability and commitment to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

• Confident and polite telephone manner

Social Media Volunteers volunteer alongside our Communications Officer, creating content that ensures information about the services Black Country Women’s Aid provide is widely available across communities. They help people connect with us online and learn more about how we help survivors cope and recover, alongside creating content and materials that educate people on challenging abuse and violence. Social Media Volunteers help BCWA further engage with the community and other sector partners. They collaborate with BCWA Service Managers and different teams to build content that effectively promotes services, events or fundraising drives. They think creatively, contributing their own ideas for content and bringing these to life.

Being a Social Media Volunteer might look like:

• Collaborating with BCWA staff to create content for BCWA communications
• Preparing materials for events, like leaflets and posters and keeping these organised
• Researching community groups, local organisations and other agencies for engagement
• Liaising with the Communications Officer to bring new content ideas to life
• Engaging with BCWA teams to promote events or fundraising drives
• Being an advocate for BCWA!

As a BCWA Social Media Volunteer, you’ll get:

DBS

All volunteer roles are subject to DBS checks at the relevant level.

At Afrocats, we work with communities in Greater Manchester to support women, children and families through access to arts and culture. We are looking for an organised and reliable volunteer administrator to join our small, friendly team and provide support across a range of needs.

This is a flexible volunteer opportunity ideal for someone with previous office or administrative experience who would like to use their skills to support meaningful community work.

Role Responsibilities:

• General administrative support
• Data entry
• Presentation preparation
• Monitoring and responding to emails
• Research tasks and adhoc project support

Commitment:
Around 8 hours per week for a period of 12 months.

Working Hours:
Hours are flexible, however, during the initial induction period, some overlap with staff working hours will be required.

We’re looking for trustees

We’re looking to recruit dynamic, committed and motivated people with professional skills and experience who are as passionate as we are about empowering individuals to work through and beyond their experience of sexual abuse.

Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience. A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential.

These trustees will help to form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity and contributing to the effective and quality governance of Trust House. You will play an active role in developing the strategic direction of the charity and provide guidance to ensure the charity continues to support anyone affected by rape or sexual abuse in the Thames Valley area.
