The Lyonic Scots Society is seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to help establish and grow an exciting international community dedicated to preserving Scottish heritage, supporting our members, celebrating our traditions, and building the future of the Lyonic Scots.

Whether you have experience in leadership, administration, finance, events, community engagement, or simply a desire to contribute, we would love to hear from you.

As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping develop a welcoming, inclusive, and thriving society that connects Lyonic Scots and friends around the world.

Available Volunteer Roles

1. Chair

Purpose of the Role

The Chair provides leadership to the Lyonic Scots Society and works closely with the Clan Chief (Prince of Scots), the Society Committee, and volunteers to ensure the Society fulfils its aims and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead committee meetings and annual meetings.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership.
• Support the development of the Society’s activities and projects.
• Represent the Society at events and functions.
• Encourage positive governance and teamwork.
• Help build partnerships and community relationships.

2. Vice Chair

Purpose of the Role

The Vice Chair supports the Chair and helps ensure the smooth running of the Society.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chair in their duties.
• Deputise when the Chair is unavailable.
• Assist with projects and events.
• Help coordinate volunteer activities.
• Contribute to strategic planning.

3. Treasurer

Purpose of the Role

The Treasurer oversees the Society’s finances and helps ensure financial transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Monitor income and expenditure.
• Prepare financial reports for meetings.
• Assist with budgeting and fundraising planning.
• Ensure funds are managed responsibly.

We’re Looking For

• Good numerical and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with bookkeeping, finance, or budgeting is desirable but not essential.
• Integrity and trustworthiness.

4. Secretary

Purpose of the Role

The Secretary supports the administration and governance of the Society.

Responsibilities

• Organise committee meetings.
• Prepare agendas and meeting papers.
• Take and distribute meeting minutes.
• Maintain Society records.
• Support communications and administration.

• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to manage information confidentially.
• Confidence using email and basic office software.

We believe all dance professionals should be able to lead a fulfilling life in dance safe from hardship.We are looking for new Trustees to help us achieve our aim. 

Who are Dance Professionals Fund? 

Dance Professionals Fund is an award-winning registered CIO providing financial and wellbeing support to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers. Our dedicated services bring together a range of effective ways of supporting dance professionals, including financial grants, signposting to support services, injury rehabilitation, career upskilling support and access to professional counselling. Dance professionals will receive holistic support from us whatever their situation. 

Role Description 

We are seeking trustees to join us from January 2027 for an initial term of three years.We are looking for a range of skills and experience, including: 

• Experience and/or specialism in commercial dance or street dance

• A recreational dance teacher and/or owner of a dance school 

• Background/experience in finance in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Experience within a benevolent fund as either as staff or trustee

• Background in legal expertise, in a senior role or on a charity Board 

• Strong communication skills, comprehensive networking experience 

We welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about helping the Dance Professionals Fund achieve its objectives. Full trustee training will be provided.

Cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre, is looking for new volunteers with flexible availability to help us set up and run out stall at a variety of fun community fundraising & enagement events, mainly in West London - Hounslow, Richmond & Ealing area. Come and sell rafle tickets, inspire donations, hold a collection bucket, give out leaflets and engage with the public at our own events and at fetes, fairs and stadium days.

Have you confidently used the Beacon CRM system before? Do you thonk you could share your experience of Beacon use and functionality with otthers?

We are looking for someone experienced in the use of Beacon CRM system who can assist our Funrasing & Engagement Team to make the best of this software and can asist with data analysis to help us build our fundraising contacts and achievements.

Do you have experence of fundraising reserach and/or writing grants applications? Want to put those skills to use and make  a difference for those whose lives are affected by cancer?

This role would suit those with experience or interest in research, bid writing, charity fundraising, marketing, creative writing, commissioning, public sector tenders or grant assessment who is looking for a meaningful, regular volunteering commitment. Anyone with expertise or transferable skills in the area of research and/or writing compelling proposals/marketing who is interested in volunteering is encouraged to have a chat with us as we can be flexible.

The Mulberry Centre is looking for opportunities to identify and apply for relevant grants, trust and foundations funding in a competitive market. Grant requests will be on average £500-£10,000 for specific services as well as core Centre costs. This Fundraising Volunteer (the role can be undertaken by one volunteer or split into two parts and shared) will work closely with the Fundraising and Engagement Team to help streamline the research and application process. The first part of the role is to research and check grants and trust funding lists and databases for current opportunities and deadlines for applications to determine which are relevant, where we meet the necessary criteria, and how quickly we need to apply. The second part of the role is to draft and adapt application information to inspire and appeal positively to specific funders. 

Cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre is looking for a experienced and enthusiastic physically fit gardener to join our small team of volunteer gardeners on Wednesday mornings. The role will help to develop and maintain our existing garden space to ensure it remains a safe, calm, sensory place for our clients to relax in.
