About Kith & Kids
We provide activities, opportunities, information, and support for people with a learning disability or autism, their parents and siblings.
For all our projects and activities we are dependent on volunteers.

Our Summer Project
Wed 22nd – Sun 26th July 9:30am – 5:30pm in North London.

We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers, to join us on our fantastic fun-filled Summer Social Development Project.

Volunteers and our members who have disabilities get to know each other as they take part in fun and challenging workshops including sports & games, arts & crafts, cooking and enjoying a day out in London.

What you'll do
On the project you and a fellow volunteer will be paired with one of our members with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to take part in a wide range of activities led by professional therapists and workshop leaders.

Our core activities are sports & games, arts & crafts, drama and music. Previous additional workshops have also included photography, football and cooking and you’ll plan your own exciting outing around London with a fellow volunteer and the Kith & Kids member you're linked with.

Not only is it a time full of fun and games for you and our members, you are a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment.

Requirements

What you need
You do not need experience. Full disability awareness training will be provided before you begin volunteering with us.
The only requirements we ask of you are enthusiasm, energy and to be open-minded.
Minimum age for volunteers is 18.

How much time?
The project runs for 5 days, Wed 22nd – Sun 26th July, 9:30am – 5:30pm  in North London.

Everyone gets the most out of the project if you come for the full ten days as you'll build a close relationship with the member you'll have been supporting and will create the most impact.

What we can offer you
We can reimburse your travel expenses and provide a delicious lunch each day.
We'll also provide excellent training before the project, and lots of helpful support.

By volunteering on our project, you'll also:

Volunteers must attend training and complete a free DBS check before you begin volunteering.

This is a great opportunity to get to know everyone at Kith & Kids: your fellow volunteers, some of our members you will be working with, and also gives the opportunity to develop some new skills and expand your knowledge in our workshops.

When do I need to come?

We'll be running face-to-face training in north London starting on the 17th  May with lots of other dates to choose from.

Training will take place in North London – once we have met you online for a chat, we will send you confirmation of our training venue details.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone passionate about using communication as a tool for social change and community transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and public relations strategies that strengthen the organization’s visibility and impact.
• Create compelling content for social media, newsletters, blogs, campaigns, and website updates.
• Draft press releases, partnership letters, media briefs, impact stories, and organizational updates.
• Help manage and grow the organization’s online presence across digital platforms.
• Support media outreach and build relationships with journalists, bloggers, partners, and supporters.

Requirements

• Previous experience in Public Relations, Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Communications, or related fields.
• Prior nonprofit, volunteer, NGO, advocacy, or social impact experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong storytelling and content creation abilities.
• Familiarity with social media management and digital engagement tools.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate remotely with an international volunteer team.
• Creative thinking, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
• Graphic design, video editing, photography, or media production skills are an added advantage.

Our vision for volunteering

Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you! 

You can expect us to

• Make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• Support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• Cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

At SUNSHINE, we believe no one should feel invisible, forgotten or left behind.

Loneliness is a growing crisis across London, affecting thousands of people who go days, weeks, months, and even years without meaningful human connection. Its impact can be devastating, affecting mental health, physical wellbeing, confidence, and the ability to feel part of society.

SUNSHINE was created to change that.

Founded from real lived experience, and inspired by the Founder’s personal understanding of the deep and lasting harm loneliness can cause, SUNSHINE exists to bring warmth, hope, friendship and belonging back into people’s lives.

We are building a charity that is rooted in compassion, community and connection. Our mission is simple but powerful: to reduce loneliness by creating welcoming spaces, meaningful activities, and supportive relationships that help people feel seen, valued and connected.

Our Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for a talented and passionate volunteer Graphic Designer to help shape the visual identity of SUNSHINE Charity.

This is more than a design role — it is a chance to help build the public face of a charity with a truly important mission.

Your creativity will help us communicate hope, kindness and community in a way that inspires people to get involved, support our work, and believe in a better, more connected future.

You will help us develop a strong, uplifting and memorable brand identity that reflects who we are and what we stand for: warmth, inclusion, dignity, joy and human connection.

What you’ll help with

• Refining SUNSHINE’s visual identity so it feels professional, warm and consistent.

• Creating design assets for social media, posters, flyers and promotional materials.

• Helping us build a brand that feels inspiring, approachable and community-focused.

• Developing templates and visuals that can be used across our growing charity work.

• Supporting us to present SUNSHINE in a way that captures attention and encourages action.

• Ensuring our materials reflect our values of connection, kindness, inclusion, community-led work, integrity and collaboration.

What we’re looking for

We would love to hear from you if you are:

• A creative Graphic Designer with an eye for impactful, meaningful design.

• Someone who understands the power of branding to tell a story and move people to action.

• Confident using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.

• Passionate about helping a charity make a real difference.

• Able to work collaboratively and bring ideas to life in line with a strong charitable mission.

• Inspired by the idea of using your skills to help people feel seen, supported and connected.
